One of the things i'll mention that might be a plus or a detractor for campaign decks. Or might get you to buy more or abandon them. The requirements are huge. You need the full season 1 retail plus promos. Season 2, you need tk have invested in most of it. You cant buy first class, xforce, phoenix five or horsemen. Season 3 you need everything here but annihulus and galactus.
I just bought a few xmen expansions for the campaign deck lols. But for S1, you barely need any of it outside the corebox, you dont need to use every hero, you can only play 4 max heroes per game, and just repeat them for the most of it.
If I were to back this it would be solely to play with my kids, and I just think I am okay with the content available at retail for that. Definitely tempted by a lot of the Kickstarter exclusives, but not over other games coming soon. I was on vacation and completely unplugged this past week so thanks for the deep dive to catch me up 🤙
Having backed everything so far, I'm inclined to do so again. There are just a few expansions i dont care about, but that was true for the last two campaigns. 🐺
I’m in for: Herald - Galactus rocks and tons of villains Secret Invasion - Nick Fury! 2nd favorite hero ever! Maximum Carnage - So many villains! WWH - Tons of antiheroes is sweet! Civil War - I personally don’t care about this at all but my son insists that if his sister gets to play as a giant girl he wants to play as a giant boy. So yeah…. Pets - yep that’s my kids again, who I primarily play with, so it’s in Team Decks - so much variety have to grab them Which brings me to the others where I’m more mixed: Campaign Decks - unless I grab an all in pledge I can’t play all these, thankfully I have most of the content from the other seasons I need but still. Feels like a Fin Fang Foom thing to get you to buy more. War of Kings - Would only get this for campaign AoA - same just for campaign Annihilation - legit don’t know/don’t care about these at all S1 Stretch Goals, if they weren’t so pricey and I didn’t already have my favorites I would be more tempted, still a better price than the secondary market but if I go all in then that will drive my cost up even higher. I was trying to budget for $300 but found myself only not wanting three expansions, then they go and throw the awesome Dragon as the all in award and the campaign decks really want you to have all the S3 expansions. So basically I’m hovering around my for sure list, 50/50 on the campaigns and trying to resist going all in for the dragon and more campaigns.
As a miniature painter, this is an easy all in. I have both the previous Campaigns, and although i consider the 1st season the best value (all in was $195), this campaign is worth it for the reasons mentioned in this video. It adds a lot of actual game play mechanics to game.
You're the second creator to push the campaign decks but not talk about them needing lots of content to be used. Which you did discuss on reference to the team decks. While you can switch out heros and villains the campaigns also switch play modes which require specific expansions. The solo mode from this campaign, the super villain mode, etc.
Yeah I took to comments at that point in the video. Campaign decks are worthless junk they are forcing you to buy when all in if you haven't backed the first two
@@convicsik but they are factored into the price of the all in. All in should only be Campaign related items. Not ones that are unusable for this campaign
@@convicsik Yes. The video doesn't hurt me because I'm backing all in but someone watching may hear great value for "Campaign Decks" and decide to pick it as an addon. And since Game Brigade did not discuss what other stuff you need to get the value out of those campaign decks that person may be disappointed with their purchase.
It's so strange to me that BoardGameCo made the same statement. Is it just parallel thinking? Low cost + adds variety to the game play = good value? It's troubling that these videos which supposedly summarize the campaign and make things clear for those who don't have time to read every update are pretty consistently making the mistake of overestimating the value of these decks. That being said, I'm excited about them, but only because I have everything thus far and I'm all-in on this one as well. I would also assume that most people considering the All-In pledge on this campaign are either all-in on the past campaigns or planning on picking up everything they can in retail, so I don't think it's inappropriate for them to be included in the Omniverse Pledge. But my assumption could be wrong.
Currently thinking about buying the expansions just based on the retail Team Decks. Like, I ain't got any of the older game's Promos, so I kind of need to buy the Civil War set to fill out A-Force, Team Cap, and Team Iron Man. And ya gotta' get the KS Promos, otherwise you miss out on having Wiccan and Hulkling's wedding ring mechanic. And if I buy Annihilus set, I can fill out the GotG Team Deck with weirdos, instead of having to use Star Lord, because they put all the (non-tree/rodent) characters more interesting than him in the Promos.
🤔 hm.. so i know for sure i want to get WWH, and absolute carnage. after that i know there are things id want more then others but those 2 are my top things.. and annihilation one.
I'm going all in because I ended up buying the rest of S2 on the secondary market anyway. If you have self-control, all you need for endless content is the S3 base pledge plus S2 promo box.
Speaking as a Canadian, with CMON games, it's cheaper to miss the campaign , and preorder the game (+KS exclusives) from some online retailers. I saved $60 doing this with Cyberpunk 2077. I usually pledge $1 to have access to the PM as a backup.
Yeah this is extremely location dependent. I have one local store that backed the original MU campaign and they’re trying to sell it for 500 bucks. I have had two sources for online game stores that backed specific cmon games I bookmarked, then they failed to do any follow up campaigns, making the whole thing an annoying crapshoot where I’d rather just back the game myself.
401games in Canada had bundles from the X-Men campaign. They essentially had "All in" bundles for S1 and S2 that had all of the expansions and stretch goals (no core box) as well they had the cardboard items and plastic tokens bundled. My assumption is that they will have an all in bundle for everything gameplay related (ie the Omniverse All in; expansions and decks). Plus they have free shipping in Canada
Never read the comic books as a kid. My wife bought me civil war and house of M because she hates my lack of knowledge. also in past monthly round ups we talked about me catching up on the MCU as I hadn't seen them all.

Here to say starting it off by saying back responsibility.
1000% concur with this.

Glad to hear you guys took a vacation. I'm a little jealous 😂

The heroes are pretty low end as well from Stretch goals. The Villains are A+ in this wave.

Literally no shot a game this light deserves over 1000 dollars. You're bad with money

That is why they are called “optional” buys, no one is forcing you to buy them.

What did you end up getting??
Prison ball.. Wrecking Crew - wrecking/demolition ball. hahaha.. love this guy :D
Only 3 of the add on boxes from X-Men are available on Amazon and other retailers. And each one is missing a ks exclusive character.
Yeah some were Kickstarter exclusive
I think the Campaign decks also require you to own everything in order to function properly
Yes. Someone mentioned that in another comment.
🤔 hm.. so i know for sure i want to get WWH, and absolute carnage. after that i know there are things id want more then others but those 2 are my top things.. and annihilation one.
Good video!
Thank you!

If I take the basic pledge can I still go all-in during the pledge manager and also buy the previous sets like X-men? Thx 😀
You can pledge $1 and in the pledge manager decide exactly how much you want spend. The bonus with this method is you also see your shipping costs

401games has this campaign on pre order but I don't think you'd be able to customize the options

@@adamneuert9278 Hmmm. I hope they announce their bundles before Pledge Manager closes. I want the S1 and S2 content as well
Wait, so this is a board game that starts at $120 and goes as high as $1000 for all the expansions? How are people supposed to afford this?
yup. just a drop in the bucket
Civil war is the least interesting for me < annihilation< secret invasion< world war hulk< Age of apocalypse
are you going all-in?
Really? I love civil war... that and carnage are my tops
Good review but the lack of Marvel knowledge hurt it. Calling the Wrecking Crew a lame guys squad? Lost me there. Still, good overall review.
Never read the comic books as a kid. My wife bought me civil war and house of M because she hates my lack of knowledge. also in past monthly round ups we talked about me catching up on the MCU as I hadn't seen them all.
