Brad is right. It would be better if people from other countries talk about their own FI paths. However, I also think that it would be a great addition to have from time to time different people from other countries talk about their own country-specific paths to financial independence. They could be for example guests to the ChooseFI and Afford Anything podcasts. 😉

Just curious, will we ever hear a response from you about Len Penzo leaving the podcast? I thought your response to his comment was over the top and quite frankly embarrassing, but I am shocked he quit over it. There must of been much more to that conversation that was cut.

There was a significant amount of that conversation that was cut. Unfortunately, the things that Len said were not things that we could ever air. As a result, the editing made it sound very one-sided, and the editing was done in a way that made me look bad. This is a decision that I wholeheartedly agree with, because that was the only possible way that we could edit it.
So I want to be clear, Joe made the absolute correct call in the way that he edited it. I appreciate and thank Joe, Karen, and Steve for the tough but necessary editing decisions that they made. And I support them entirely.
But the editing also, necessarily, had to have the effect of making me look bad. Because there was no way that we could air the thing that Len said.
I don’t want to badmouth Len, and I don’t want to fuel any drama. That’s why I haven’t replied.

@@affordanything I respect that you don't want to talk about this further and don't expect a response, but as someone who very much disagreed with your side of the discussion on that episode, I think it really sucks that you may have had to fall on your sword here, especially if Len said something really offensive. I've see a lot of misogynistic comments toward you since then. That's obviously completely unfair regardless of the merits of that discussion. I just don't see how airing any of it was the right move, but maybe the producers just didn't anticipate at the time what would become of it.

Great podcast. Would love to get follow up on the question about the 4% withdrawn rule :)

We're seeing if Bill Bengen (the financial advisor who came up with the 4 percent withdrawal rule) can return to the podcast and shed light on that question!
He was a guest on Ep 377 --
