Hey man, I have a newer v7 and it randomly went out of whack. I noticed it yesterday. The mark on the cam is hitting much lower on the spring and almost missing it. I havent made any adjustments and i dont want to change the stroke I like the default setting. What do I need to move over for it to hit that notch properly?
Hi Dan ! Hope you are doing great. Question, when I use standard niddles, 9 straight or 11 straight from blackclaw, I’m pretty fast in lining what’s the best set up for timing mark and Impack knob? Thx for ur time . Alberto
Hi Dan,I watch this video for many times,still can’t understand,I usually use 7-9RL liner, if i run about 5 volts’what is the best setting?33-39amps at 6 volts,spring adjustment knob at 7 o’clock?same on cartridge?thank u
If using a cartridge, make sure you have a rubber band pulling down on the bar. Then have the lowest return tension . maybe 1-3:00 and go from there. Carts are tricky because they are all different

Hi Dan, A question for tuning. I received my 7.3 yesterday and the line on the cam and machine don’t match. It’s way down below. Do I need to align it or can I just use it the way it is… thx
Does it run properly? Did you get it from me? If you got it from me, then I wonder if you are checking it properly. I load all of them with a tube and needle and test run them.. if it’s stuttering and weak when loaded, then you will need to re-set it.
I just want to say I can never get the new side winders in ur site I always have to buy them second hAnd and coming here to figure out the machines tuning is essential for me I’ve only gotten the dmc and the dmcv2 from ur site aswell as the v3r
You can use a guitar tuning app..and find the correct hz by sound. As far as I know, cps values are only easily registered with a relay machine (ie coil machine)
Dan. I and i think a lot of other people would love if there was more clarity and structure to these videos. I feel that you jump back and forth with several settings quite fast and there is never 1 single way to set the machine for zippy 5-7s or 9 and above etc. You say the impact adjustment pin is set perfect and shouldn't be changed, then you say that it can be turned but balanced with the impact pin on the top of the machine. So my own 7b is slightly ahead of the timing mark out of the box. Should i turn both impact pins a notch + a half turn to line up with the timing mark. If i do this, how will my machine run compared? It sounds good but i guess I'm running the risk of detuning your settings. Clarity would be great as you can't fuck with a good 9 or 11 but anything less and changing tuning can be DRASTIC for these machines. Big fan. This is my 6th Kubin 🙌🏻🗡️
I feel the v7 is a lot more forgiving to use and adjust settings. There are multiple ways to do things, and don’t need to take it to the next level. Just increase spring tension if you want it zippy.
I modified the bar on the 7.3 so that it’s more stable/no wobble. The stoke has 5 positions, ranging in the 3.5-4mm range. Keep in mind that the stroke on a Sidewinder should not be compared to that of another type of machine. It strikes very fast, and retracts even quicker..
It depends how fast you want to go. For me, I keep it in the middle, and run about 5 volts. If you want to run really zippy, then a shorter stroke..but I first recommend just increasing return spring tension first with your current setting
Hi, I got v7.4. If on hour 7 the stroke is shortest, so on which hour is the longest if 12 and 6 are the same?
Hello Dan. I just bough v7. I want to know how to set the machine with 9rm and 9rl

What is the best way to clean the machine without harming the mechanism?

My setting is:
timing mark : straight up
Impack knob at : 3-6 o’clock

Same as another video you teach on Instagram
timing mark : left up

There’s some on the site now, and every Sunday at 9-10am US CST unless posted otherwise. 🤙
Hi ! Is there any way to calculate the CPS on these sidewinders? Or would that be possible only on a direct drive?

Hi,
Can I ask what the difference between 7, 7B and 7.3 are?
And what is the stroke of them?
Thx

How to buy
If tattoing with 3rl, whats the best settings? Is it the shortest stroke?
