Foy's voice is so powerful and distinctive that there is a risk, I think, of overlooking his equally exceptional gifts as a lyricist.
He reminds me of Tom Waits in that way. Though I think Foy’s voice is much more agreeable to most listeners compared to Tom’s gravelly howls
In my opinion , Foy is one of the greatest lyricists of our generation. He has a sublime ability to transcend . When you listen , your connected . One of life’s greatest gifts .

Incredible. I went searching inside myself and found a sapling in search of an oak. This songs about his alcoholism and I’m currently going through it. Drinking is not it and idk how I got wrapped up in this. It physically and mentally hurts to quit but I just want to get back to a healthy me.
