As a child raised on videogames, this song in particular brings me so much nostalgia being raised latchkey with my NES and SEGA Genny as the babysitter. Not that my mom was absent. Quite the opposite she often sat and watched me play games just to fall asleep after working 18 hours to provide me with a comfortable life. This song offers so much nostalgia its emotionally overwhelming. I believe that Anamanaguchi may be younger than I am but they sure know how to make powerful music that pulls on the heart strings of every 80's and 90's gamer who grow up with videogames.
you know I have never played with a Sega Genesis but this reminds me when i was a game noob, interested in everything. i really love this song it reminds me of pllaying sonic on the snes
I'm only thirteen, but NES and other things give me this weird feeling, that's not exactly nostalgia, but a happy/empty feeling, like I lost something. It also makes me feel a bit angry for some reason.
+BabyFacesBlaster I've been thinking about this comment for...wow, two months now. For me, I have a great sense of nostalgia for classic games because I literally grew up with them. I've been able to take the rose-colored glasses off every now and then for certain things, so I wouldn't say I'm entirely biased in my opinions on them. For me growing up, these games allowed me to travel to places I could only dream of. The visuals and music, now certainly dated by modern standards, were some of the most enthralling things I had ever experienced. I'm 26 now and I still feel surges of emotion when I see, hear, and play certain games because it reminds me of what it was like to experience those feelings. I think maybe that's the feeling you have: there was a unique sweetness that came with this era. Games like Kickle Cubicle, Little Nemo, Secret of Mana, and Alisia Dragoon were at once gorgeous and fun to play, imaginative and wondrous (for me at least.) Clearly I still love older games. Luckily though, you have access to the online networks to download these games unlike me when I was your age: I had Funcoland and EB. If you want some games to check out from this era, let me know, I'll give you a list.
I don't know why, but the key and arrangement of the main melody gives me this unexplainable feeling, sorta like joy and sense of adventure. Especially when it fades in subtly at the beginning.
Milk n Cookies I mean I know what Ristar is - it's a lesser-known platformer for the Sega Genesis. What I'm lost on is how it applies here. Is it...because the music sounds vaugely reminiscient of the OST?
Amazing what happens in 6 years. Its crazy looking back.. This song holds so much memories, good and bad. I first heard this on Roblox Survive the Disasters. When i finally later learned it was Anamanaguchi i went nuts. I loved their music on the scott pilgrim vs the world game and thats how I discovered them.
same i knew of the band in 2017 cus i followed another chiptune artist called "zabutom" and they were on my recomendations search,This song is very nostalgic to me cus it was the song i looped all the time back then, this song means alot to me.
I don't know how I could ever live without this song. This is absolutely one of my most favorite songs of all time. As soon as I heard it, and this is NO exaggeration, my life literally changed forever. I don't know how it's even possible for a song to touch me to such an extent, but seriously, it will always be one of the best ever. Thank you for bringing this creation into the world..!!
There is something so deeply, unexplainably sad about this song. I distinctly remember getting melancholic, nostalgic feelings in my chest hearing it for the first time.
I wish they kept this song for Survive the Disasters classic, that game has such a special place in my heart, I remember each disaster and know how to survive them to a T. I really miss that era and this song really solidified that lol
I don't know what it is about this song. I gives me this yearning to chance after something, or someone. Like I'm trapped "underwater" and I realize something and rush out the water chasing it. I have to reach it. I can't let this thing go to waste and sit back as it float away. I can't go another day without having this thing in my life. It's like this thing means everything in the world and if I spend another moment underwater, drowning myself, I'll never get one again. Thanks, Anamanaguchi.
flipflopfla nope Nah, you're fine, you can still use proper grammar, you haven't gone completely insane yet. If you do start to go insane, however, I would recommend kicking your computer as hard as you can, and then buying a new one (or you could save money and just close the tab, but that isn't fun...)
flipflopfla nope And I applaud your knowledge that what I said was humor, instead of pointing out that kicking a computer would be horrible and stating that what you said wasn't true. From my experience on youtube, common sense isn't very common, but I'm happy to see somebody who has it.
Ik I'm late but this shit just fueled up my imagination of being in space and being some op character just flying through shit. This song is super hyped 👏🏼👏🏼
Reminds me of a few years ago when I was 11, finding out I was going to die one day as my dog did that year, and that we were all playing death every second of our lives, i was also dealing with the onset of sickness, as well as feeling cold and depressed, feeling as if I couldn’t even trust myself. I would pass every night by playing video games, and my best friend started missing school and went through personality changes, he became skinnier, he had less of an apt to want to play and bike around with me, so I really had nothing to do other than start watching RUclips and playing games, in which I encountered this song and it’s written into my brain. It makes me feel sad just by listening to this. The song almost even reminds me of myself balling my eyes out thinking about the well being of my dog if I was away from him, as I had a big connection with each of them. It’s a bad nostalgia.
i totally understand it and love the idea of the song but don't know what is the name i love EVERYTHING ABOUT IT TOMORROW MORNING I WILL DANCE AND HEAR IT I TOTALLY AGREE WITH THE SONG
I have been trying to find this song since 2015. I only had a memory of the drop. It took a yt comment for me to find this. Literally crying right now.
***** I was referring to one of the two games mentioned, not one of the soundtracks within that game. It'd be kind of silly if they just composed "Another Winter" and then bailed, though, wouldn't it?
John Daniello Do you know that for a fact? You are over here CLAIMING he likes it because of it sounds like gaming music. What is your evidence? And so what? How does that effect you or the song? He likes it. Stop being a troll.
um actually I do know this for because hes my friend and I know him in real life and know what likes and dudes why are you guys going at me and going at me a month later
This song reminds me of an old bubble popping type game for the ps1 that my grandma had and me and my cousins would sit and play it together. I cant quite remember the name of it but i know it has anime-ish characters that you could play as.. If you know what it is please tell me!
Man, I remember playing Roblox many years ago on IOS. And hearing this theme gives me flashbacks of the old maps on Survive The Disaster. Or maybe it's just the past. Maybe the old times of gaming felt better and more nostalgic.

+Mark Perry they combine both past and future to create a sound so amazing that it can only be described as art
you know I have never played with a Sega Genesis but this reminds me when i was a game noob, interested in everything. i really love this song it reminds me of pllaying sonic on the snes
Mark Perry It reminds me of The Little Mermaid for the Genny. And I know exactly what you mean about all of it and that's why this band is amazing.
I'm only thirteen, but NES and other things give me this weird feeling, that's not exactly nostalgia, but a happy/empty feeling, like I lost something. It also makes me feel a bit angry for some reason.

You had me up until that last bit, and then I was confused.
Ripon Chowdhury fuck is a ristar?
Milk n Cookies Are you talking to me 😈😈
Milk n Cookies I mean I know what Ristar is - it's a lesser-known platformer for the Sega Genesis.
What I'm lost on is how it applies here.
Is it...because the music sounds vaugely reminiscient of the OST?
I remember listening to this when it came out years back. I was 14 and under a lot less stress.

This song is lovely when you sit outside in the dark or when there is a sunset
It only takes one beat to make the perfect music. Anamanaguchi, thank you for inspiring me.

Same, it was my main roblox game back in 2016

I don't know what it is about this song. I gives me this yearning to chance after something, or someone. Like I'm trapped "underwater" and I realize something and rush out the water chasing it. Starman99 I did this for a day... I think I might have gone insane by now. :/
flipflopfla nope Nah, you're fine, you can still use proper grammar, you haven't gone completely insane yet. If you do start to go insane, however, I would recommend kicking your computer as hard as you can, and then buying a new one (or you could save money and just close the tab, but that isn't fun...)
Starman99 I applaud your sense of humour, good sir. :3
flipflopfla nope And I applaud your knowledge that what I said was humor, instead of pointing out that kicking a computer would be horrible and stating that what you said wasn't true. From my experience on youtube, common sense isn't very common, but I'm happy to see somebody who has it.
Starman99 Dude, this conversation is very enjoyable. I finally found somebody who is intelligible on RUclips... I thought it was impossible.

Love this!
Thank you for this! I am so tired of music segregation.
Reminds me of a few years ago when I was 11, finding out I was going to die one day as my dog did that year, and that we were all playing death every second of our lives, i was also dealing with the onset of sickness, as well as feeling cold and depressed, feeling as if I couldn’t even trust myself. Well one of those soundtracks _was_ done by Anamanaguchi...
Huh, I didn't know that.
They did all of the music from Scott Pilgrim vs The World the video game not just one haha
***** I was referring to one of the two games mentioned, not one of the soundtracks within that game.
It'd be kind of silly if they just composed "Another Winter" and then bailed, though, wouldn't it?
Hahaha yeah you're right.
You have no idea how long I've been looking for this.
