Meh 🫤 - I’m going on 70, and while I DO like Dave Matthews (and band) sometimes, as in THIS case, I feel that his voice isn’t consistently good and up to par. Granted he still plays the 🎸 well here, as in most other performances. * I couldn’t even compare what I’d call this ‘mediocre’ performance to 3 👏 ones he did with Warren Haynes on Neil Young’s ‘Cortez the Killer’, which to me were about the best 👍 🌟 I’ve yet heard and seen done of that song (and it’s been many)!
You do realize Dave is in his mid 50s right? He also puts on a lot of shows which is a lot of strain on the vocal cords. Listen to his earlier stuff when he was younger his voice is much better and more consistent. He’s out there screaming for 2 hours that’s a lot of work.
He sounds pretty darn good to me!! 🥰
Dave has sounded that bad all the way back to to Trax and Little Johns days!!! 🤮
@@Raven4111 I think you misunderstood part of my original comment. But to reiterate and clarify it - imho, Dave hasn’t been consistent vocally, regardless of the years of his performing - from the beginning! There are also many other, similar style artists who are OLDER than he is, who also put on VERY LONG live performances without any lapse of vocal control.
@@mattd5893 LOL - that’s what I just wrote as a reply to @Raven, who said Dave was 50, and basically considered it as being ‘old’ and therefore an ‘excuse’ for why his voice sounded inconsistent. The ones when I thought he sang better were those he did with Warren Haynes or other artists - not his band’s ‘solos’.
I love this Band! The music is awesome, would of loved to see this band in concert!
