- All My Children, 2001, Over at Laura's room, Ryan and Leo watch her talk with Jamie. She asks him not to go to camp because their mother should not be alone. She says she'll be looking after him from heaven. Ryan is very affected by this. Leo pleads with him, saying, "Laura doesn't have much time....She doesn't deserve to die. I know-Gillian too. I hate to say it, but it's too late for her. We can't bring her back now....She's the last person in the world that I would want this to happen to. But it happened. I think that Gillian would want to help Laura live. And deep down, I think you know that, too. And in a way, Gillian could live on because of Laura." Ryan is choked up and walks away. He goes to see Gillian. With tears on his face, he asks Jake, "You're sure she's not in any pain? And if they do this, if they take out her heart, she won't feel it?" Jake assures him she won't. Ryan asks, "And if they put it in Laura, it's not going to die, will it?" Jake says, "That's right. A piece of Gillian will live on." Finally, Ryan says, "I'll sign the papers."
Leo is with Laura. She says, "Leo, be happy. Promise me you won't forget you're a better person than you think you are." Suddenly, she goes into cardiac arrest. Zora races into the room and attempts to save her. The hysteria in Laura's room was evident as the doctor's rushed in with a crash cart. Edmund ushered Brooke from the room as the doctor's began to work on Laura. David rushed into Laura's room shouting that they had a donor. He instructed the staff to get Laura to the operating room and prep her. The donor wasn't there yet, but he wanted her ready. As they rushed Laura down the hallway to the OR, David performed CPR on her. Seeing Laura with Jamie made me burst into tears. Laura wasn’t my favorite person but she was a damn good big sister to Jamie.

@@maureenmeagher6415 yeah but honestly I don’t know what happened to Laura after the transplant. It changed her. Or it messed with her psyche REALLY bad. Even later in 2009 when Kendall got Josh’s heart, it changed her. Luckily Kendall was able to adjust and cope and recover completely. Laura wasn’t so fortunate
I remember this well. A real tear jerker. And I like Jillian so much better than Laura

Nanu Baby yes. Kendall and Greenlee were gold. Solid Gold! They didn’t even need a man they should have been together not in a sexual way but just as 100% sisters. The two of them against the world!
David let the desision be with Ryan alright okay yes she signed a donor card but don't have Ryan greive alone he is devastated ok

"Please help him!" Ugh...so rude how Anna, Alex, whatever her name is says that. I NEVER liked Ryan, but to hover over a man when he is saying goodbye to his wife is just disgusting. Of course I never really liked Finola Hughes either. She monopolizes all the stories both on GH AND AMC. Ugh...

Leo stop being selfish and insensitive sad that Laura is in critical condition but she can have another person's lung like seriously Gillian is the love of his 🧬 how dare you plead with Ryan to give Laura her lung
Gillian isn’t in a coma. She’s dead. The machines were keeping her alive. Leo had every right to ask. If Laura had died, Gillian was not going to come back.
First of all Gillian is only Brain dead not completely dead. It is not her lungs but her heart that The doctors want to donate for Laura. They do I suppose donate other organs but in Laura needs a new heart.
I hated how they wrote Laura after the recast! Plus they de aged her
