The beginning of the end. When the fun and humour of tom baker's era was replaced by John Nathan turner's universal entropy and dry, boring science fiction concepts the show couldn't pull off Davison did a good job but no doubt the Rot was setting in behind the scenes. As to what else was going on behind the scenes.....well you'll have to read Matthew Waterhouse's book for that.
Does anyone know the story/serial featured in the first twenty eight seconds of this trailer? It will take an age to find it at random. I don't have it.
*SO* much better than the garbage that calls itself "Doctor Who" these days: entertaining, well written stories; engaging characters you could actually empathise with (well...maybe not Adric...); no preachy wokery...what's not to like?
@@bettyswunghole3310 oh I dunno that independent rogue that fights for what's right against totalitarian regimes and corporations....pretty much every episode from 1963 When he met the daleks trying to make everything like them he fought against them, the didn't agree that there was a concept of lesser life forms and they might as well be exterminated or enslaved. Just nonsense to think that the show is anything but whatever "wokery" is supposed to be since the year dot
@@cdname47 I think you've misunderstood my original point. I was trying to suggest that the show has only become preachy woke since the Chibs era. I wasn't during it's original run...The Doctor was very much an "Establishment" figure in those days...Let's be brutally honest, the "Time Lords" were pretty thinly veiled "British", and the "baddies" were "suspicious foreign types".
An era that brought some much needed freshness after seasons of relying solely on baker’s presence.
Especially as he got so blasé and frivolous with the part, turning it into a joke.
State of Decay, Keeper of Traken and Logopolis have joined the chat.
I just watched the Bluray of his first season imo this doctor is very underrated
My favourite Doctor 🤍
Thank you
Fantastic Trailer
Thank you :)
MY Doctor.
Braveheart ❤
