That was a nicely set up 250L. I love the exhaust note of stock exhaust and the hum of knobbies on the road. Knobbies sound especially cool on pavement when slowing down from speed.
That’s an awesome chain. A chain makes ALL the difference. It even feels more plants with a good chain. I have a titanium link never stretch chain on my 05 220 2 stroke endurocross and I’ve adjusted the chain 2 times. Why? Because I had to replace the rear tire 2! Times!
You should have CRF only do a Woodzman package, so I can call and say send me the Woodzman package and take my money! I’m serious, great upgrades. I’m am definitely getting me one of these! New subscriber here!
You've done so much! Way to make the bike your own. I'm looking forward to your longer term thoughts on those tires. I'm due for my third rear and second front tire (still on stock front) and always on the look out for opinions on tires. I've gone back and forth a few times between stock and Q4 mufflers, and don't know if I'll ever settle on one over the other.
+RandomlyTrees I will keep everyone updated on the tires in later videos for sure. I'm the same way on the mufflers. I like them both but I lean mostly toward the stock because it is so peaceful riding the back roads with out the noise. I the last time when I switched back to stock, I sold the Q4 because I knew that I wasn't going to spend that much money agin to get another one. Problem solved :)
Great videos. We enjoy them all. I have a 2017 Rally version and I am enjoying it. With your double take mirrors. Do you know or remember if you are using the 2" or 3" socket arm for them? Thanks.
Excellent 15k review, Woodzman! I can't think of any of the upgrades that you have done, that I don't like. Tastefully done, my friend. What happened to the PMR rear luggage rack? Thanks for sharing, be safe.
Excellent video my friend. I appreciate you. My wife don't, But I do, she said I am always wanting to buy more stuff for my bike after I watch your videos? Thanks for sharing and I hope you have a blessed week my friend.
***** hehehe, you crack me up, I don't have any money, If i had money I wouldn't be working on my days off. hehehe. Thanks I appreciate you and your humor though hehehe.
Woodsman... Not sure how much highway or road u need to do to get to your trails... But a windscreen is one of the best things I put on my crf... Got the Baja works one and it's great.
I really like all of your CRF L videos. I am curious , how you feel now that you sold your CRF and have had a good amount of time on your Africa twin. Do you miss the 250 ? and now that the new CRF L and Rally will be out soon are you considering a switch back to a 250 ? Thanks for your time Rich Squillace
+Ruth Squillace Yes I do miss my CRF250L a lot ! I really like the Africa Twin also. I'm not going to switch back but I do plan to buy a new CRF250L maybe in a year ! Thanks for watching Rich
Very nice and informative review of all your mods. Are those tires dot? I definitely don't like the stock tires and want to upgrade. All your mods plus the bike and all your sena equipment you probably have 12k in it. Money very well spent frank.
Hi Woodzman , I am going to buy a 2017 CRF RALLY soon and just researching the best upgrade path options beforehand . ..., Did you need to do anything mod wise to install the D.I.D 520VX2 GOLD motorcycle chain ? .., Was it a clean swap for a clean swap with the stock chain and sprocket setup or not ?
Great looking bike you have there. I'm loving my CRF250L, she's a 2016. I just ordered new tires, Pirelli MT16 set. Sunstar 45 tooth sprocket and chain. I'm hoping that will give me a better trial gear, than the 40 tooth that came on my bike. I love the DCR tail lite on your bike, so that well be next for me. If you can l let me know if I made the right sprocket size four my bike, or any recommend you would go with. Love your videos, Freddy
+Freddy Stone Thanks ! The CRF250L is a great bike. I put a 42 tooth rear on mine. The 45 tooth will definitely make it better for trails. If you don't do a ton of long Hwy rides, you will like it. Sunstar is the brand that I use also, good stuff. I do like the look of the DRC tail light and it's LED.
Thank you Woodsman, I'll let you know how the new sprocket works out. My tires sprocket and chain well be here tomorrow. And thank you for the heads up on CRF only.com, they have everything you could want to trick out a bike.
Hi from England the radiator guard bracket for the tank conversation is that available as u made your own is that available from crf s only now Thank you Roland
CRFs only has the Radiator guard brackets but you will need to modify them for the tank install, but it’s easy to do. If you get anything from CRFs Only, tell Ken I sent you; www.crfsonly.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/4906
+Just Fun Stuff I did have a FMF Q4 and the EJK but it wasn't enough difference in power to justify the Noise that is made. I like to quite of the stock better.
Hey, great bike, I've got the flatlands racing skid plate and radiator guard on your recommendation. Not disappointed! How do you keep the bike stable on the stand? I have something similar and the bike rocks and rolls if I'm wrenching on it. Any tips?
+papa2k Well it's not as solid on the stand as I would like but it works. The DRC is pretty solid. I think the thick rubber pad make it worse. I need to make something thin maybe.
+WOODZMAN Dual Sport Adventure & Survival absolutely love it. Gets me everywhere I want to go with no issues. Recently installed some bar risers and WOW what a difference in the ergonomics. I'm 6'2 and it was a little uncomfortable to stand but now I'm almost straight up. Getting ready for my second oil change and couldn't be happier. Thanks for all the time you put into making all your awesome vids you have been a great asset to me and I'm sure a lot of others out there. Ride safe brother
WOODZMAN ADVENTURES well I know how that is. Look at my picture my DRZ has everything you can think of done to it. Won’t sell it because of the cost but just tired of its height and weight. So thinking about a 250.
FWIW What a person needs to do this up grade for cheap is buy the heavy springs I would go with the heaviest then buy ONE FRICTION DISC FROM HONDA part number #22201-KYJ-902 Take out inner friction disc it is clearly smaller than the rest... take out judder spring and seat. Add friction disc to pack and rebolt. There are NO CK1313 KITS available probably because CRFs only has bought them all. But you dont need five new discs EXACTLY like the four you already have... you need one disc and springs. and yes I have done all this.;
How do the Motoz handle on the road? I am about 70% off road and 30% on. I live in the blue ridge mountains so when I am on road I love the curves just wondered how they would handle on road.
+danodbdb well there is times when you need to slip the clutch. It won't hurt it to slip the clutch at times. It's all about throttle and clutch control and also body position.
QQQ -I am in the Philippines and have a XR150L, test rode a CRF250L yesterday and I am sure it is a better fit. @@WOODZMAN This will sound crazy but in the Philippines they don't let you start the engine at a dealership much less do a test drive (cars or motorcycles) so comparing a new bike at a dealership is not an option either. Thus my conundrum.
@@WOODZMAN Damn I should have checked before I even got on it. Everything looked good to me (but that ain't saying much. Your tank installation video was much help, thanks a lot for the time you put into this channel bro. With the way my bike sits now I love it. I even got saddlebags for when I take trips. I agree, big tank a must. If KLR's have big tanks there's no reason others can't be larger. My stock XR650L will only go 80 miles 'til reserve???

Yea and that is the reason I got the AT, but I sure like the 250L
Have you tried linking your youtubes on Honda motorcycles website?
No, im not sure where to do that

They wouldn’t be to good in the paved curves. These tires are almost like Motocross knobbies. They are great off road

I'm loving my CRF250L, she's a 2016. I just ordered new tires, Pirelli MT16 set. Sunstar 45 tooth sprocket and chain.
