- Today we have something a bit different, hopefully something to clear up some of the basics of Dark and Darker and how to start your journey as a new player.
A new journey begins in the dungeons, caves and ruins of Dark and Darker. A hardcore extraction looter FP(S?) game set in a high and somewhat dark fantasy world.

Uh, nothing about escaping the damn dungeon? I've done 30 runs and escaped twice. Finding the portal for me has been near impossible, and end up running into 5+ mobs and dying. zz
If you see a stair case on your map sometime around 8 mins they’ll open and can be used one
On frost mt there’s a boat you can jump on from the bridge
That’s what I’ve figured out so far about 20 hours in lmaoo

In frost caves i found a thing that opened. Think dark souls 3 shortcut atyle thing. It opened after a certain time. Pull level it brings you up. But i did die because a frost troll got on at the last second before it went up knocking me off then he took me out lol. They are marked blue on the map

Needs some mention of how to navigate the dungeons, not get caught in the white zone, and get out of there. I haven't made it out once yet!
I forget how hard this game is for new players. i’m glad I got experience ratting in ruins and crypts enough to learn the maps, so the map rotation was a welcome addition for me. But for new players … 🥶

Just got into D&D a few weeks ago and man is it grueling for new players. But it’s also super fun and rewarding if you stick with it
really would love a guide on the harder mobs and bosses
Pretty good general guide, If i had to give a bit of advice, When you were explaining spells and casting at 7:48 It would've been nice to have a bit of visualization so the person watching could see what you were talking about (Like the difference in spells for bard and mage/cleric)

I love this game, but as a new player, playing against skilled players makes it very difficult to learn the game. There's gotta be something they can do to help new players. Eventually, it'll end up being a dead game since it won't have any new players :/

things to take note is buff and heal spells can effect enemies and allies so if you try and heal an enemy who is fighting another enemy you might accidently heal the enemy lol I had to poke fun brother but seriously great video keep it up it helped me have a better understanding of a lot of things as a new player that the games does not do a good job teaching/notifying the player of
the part im talking about and poking fun at is around the 8:30 time stamp mark during video like i said keep it up iloved the video bro it really helped and you kept it to the point and only informational things that the players are looking for while searching up and viewing these types of videos unlike ALOT of youtubers looking to make an extra buck or whatever via talking about nothing to make the videos longer haha love brother !
The only reason I watched this is to see how to get out of the damn dungeon and away from the circle of doom. Everything else is pretty much self explanatory "vendors buy items" fuck me, I knew that. How do I get out with items?! That little frustration is what will stop me playing the game as it feels like I cant progress

Great guide! 😊 Dark and Darker has such a unique feel, and the learning curve is steep but rewarding. What's everyone's go-to class for starting out in this game? Also, any tips for escaping the dungeon once you've looted?
I just need to stop dyeing to dumb stuff like getting lost out too far in the swarm or backing myself into a corner, and sudden player nukes one shotting me. xD
I will say it is very encouraging watching higher ranked streamers play and miss attacks and still get hit by mobs as it shows that the combat is janky enough that it is not just a problem that I have. I have been having a bunch of fun playing the game but still am not sure what class I like the most. I like what the Warlock has but it requires good gear to really get going, Ranger is nice to not have to get so close but can die very easy especially if something manages to get in melee range, and like you mentioned rogue has such a short attack area it is hard to get good experience playing one without just accepting you are going to die a lot on one early on and even at higher gear levels.
I’ve tried to solo soo much but I just need to get better, I duo’d and I’m able to get out a lot but solo I’m just not able to.
Solo play is tough. In solos, you either get hard countered or you are the hard counter. There’s nobody to rely on like in teamplay. However, if you can get to a decent level of skill in solos, you’ll find teams a lot easier
@@bloomsux69 I’m usually fine when I play with teams, but when I try to solo everything goes out the window. I had a viola once and was like 2 feet away from getting out and got blocked in by mobs.
6:20 i'm not sure how the dmg multipliers, but i'm pretty sure that it is not how the maths works
How forced is PvP and how often do you have to engage in PvP?
Im late but Id say stick to solo if you want to pvp the least, if your cautious or lucky you may never see a single player
My fighter is just fist fighting. I can't figure out how to pick up any weapons in the "base camp" or use the sword and shield that seems to be in my stash.
I assume you need to speak to the squire NPC from the trader menu, and make sure your base kit has weapons equipped, if you die you'll then revert to that kit.
Where do you change your mic in the settings?
Apparently it uses the default mic your OS is set to!
How long are matches?
I’m at the point where I just started and I don’t want to keep playing because I get insta-killed every time

I only have two maps for some reason. Did they temporarily take away the underground tombs? I just have goblin caves and castle ruins
They did, you can now take red portals on ruins which takes you down to Crypts, which was the map they removed as it was a bit redundant like that.
I just got the game. I was hoping this video would tell me what I'm supposed to actually do and unfortunately I still don't understand.
Kill stuff, loot chests and die to mobs and players is what I've gathered. I've not seen any camp fires. I got killed by a swarm of flies that I couldn't defeat even with anti-curse spell from a cleric. I don't even understand the objective of the game, how do I win?
Ye this guide isnt that good tbh but it does get the basics down. Id reccomend to trash cleric if you have not made much progress and go fighter till u learn more of the game. BUT ESCAPING is a bit complicated. Theres these like blue ish pillars tjat after some time (maybe 8 mins) open up and you can escape there. Escaping is different for every map. For one map look for a stair icon, after some time it should open up, and the ice map you can escape by boat.
I'm a solo player as none of my friends are gamers and like this game but learning as a solo istough

I'll stick with mordhau and chilvery 2. at least you can just jump in and play. who has time to invest just to get the basics. it's a kiddie game.
