I live in New Delhi, India. My brother, a US citizen, who lives in CA, had applied for Immigrant Visa for my family (me, my wife and two children), under Sibling Category, in June 2015. The priority date now being shown in USCIS website looks like as if it has become 'current' and our case might be initiated anytime. But, nothing has happened so far. When my brother contacted USCIS office in CA regarding our case, they asked my brother to keep checking his e-mail for any update. Six months have passed by but nothing happened. This is my general inquiry. I would like to know that if I transfer my case to USA Consulate in Mexico from Islamabad Embassy. In my case, my Priority date will be changed as the one of Mexico?will it remain as priority date of my birth country Pakistan or the priority date does not matter as my interview will be scheduled based on when my documents are qualified? Let's say you are current in the April visa bulletin, do we expect to receive the date of interview in April with the interview scheduled in May? That depends on the consulate you are using. In Europe people know about a month before their pd becomes current on the visa bulletin because there is no backlog for those consulates. What is happening is that a notification saying the applicant is documentarily complete at nvc arrives(even though they have been documentarily complete on ceac for many years) a few days later an interview invitation letter arrives for a date 60-45 or whatever days in the future. This makes these applicants know where the visa bulletin will be in advance of when it is posted. Watch your countries forums to know how far your pd might move about two weeks before the end of each month.
Nowadays dq date doesn’t mean anything because it has been 4 years since they stopped moving dates. It is pd date that gets the interview because everyone is dq now after so many years of waiting. It still Google’s my mind how people in India and Pakistan take greater that 8 years to get their F2A visa. That is a delay of the applicant not the consulate.

While your priority date is current, interview scheduling depends on processing times at the Mumbai consulate.
