    Great video series. I have Mazda 5 2008 with the same issue. The code appears only during winter and clears itself when temps are close to and above 0 C. Idles perfect and no issues with power. However LTFT's hovers around the 8%-9% range on idle with no compensation from STFT and goes down to about 2%-3% when cruising with help from STFT. Unable to conclude if MAF should be replaced or not. Cleaning MAF did not help.

      I have a Kia that has the same problem as yours. Changed MAF sensor and didnt work. Kia workshop wanna change the EGR valve but I said no to that. Let us know if you find a solution to your problem😇

    Okay i watched part 1 and 2 ..i have same blazer with 4.3 and i am getting the po101 code... i only have a test meter no fancy equitment... you never explained why the code came up and how to fix the issue...if you did i must have missed... i bought a new Maf and i still get the po101 and truck bucks and hesitates under load but idles like a dream.. Was i sold another bad maf? all my wires test same as yours do here except the signal wire reads only 2.67... even with motor running and moving throttle signal stays at 2.67 . the power wire increases to over 14 volts when motor is running.. please point me in the right direction... thax.

    I think we might need to see a captured freeze frame for this concern at this point. I like this.

    Very useful information, thanks for posting. Not sure if you are aware, but the audio at the beginning is 'flipping' from right to left channel.

    I don't know where the problem is here..We see good reading on the scanner.And we see good readings when measuring on the sensor itself.Maybe this is intermittent problem and that's when the code was set?

    We have not found the problem yet right?

    Would be nice to see a wiring diagram...Does the MAF drop the battery voltage to 5 volts and send a PWM the PCM or does the PCM drops the voltage and sends a 5 volt PWM to the MAF.. Which one controls the temperature of the hot wire ???

    How bout a series showing the difference between 02 sensors and wideband AF sensors. How are the diagnostic parameters different? What tools do you use?

      Great suggestion. I'll begin working on it. Hopefully have it sometime this summer. THANKS

      Wideband oxygen sensor = air fuel sensor which voltage varies between 1 volt to approximately 3 volts contrary to narrowband oxygen sensor which voltage varies from o volt to 1volt. Narrow band oxygen sensor = downstream oxygen sensor located after the catalytic converter ( ohm reading between 2 black or 2 white wires is higher like15 ohm depending of year and model. Wideband 02sensor ohm reading is lower approximately 1.2 ohm or 2.5 ohm, example 2002 lexus rx300 is 1.2 ohm while Toyota camry is 2.5 ohm. I took camry 2.5 ohm put on lexus , check engine light still on and I have to buy expensive one with the right ohm and no more engine light.

    Love your videos. Always give a thumbs up. I would like to buy a scanner. Which would you recommend, Snap On?

    • @realfixesrealfast
      @realfixesrealfast  5 лет назад +1

      Snap is my choice and the best overall. However it is also the highest price, but you get what you pay for.

      @@realfixesrealfast They start (or end) at about $6000 and go down. Any one of these that you recommend? Thanks. J.B.

      best tool is the Verus Pro but it is a scanner and a lab scope. if you just want a scanner I like the Modis@@jamesmacneil1609

    So what was the issue and how to fix it

  • @vieczurable
    @vieczurable 5 лет назад

    I have this code appeared as "present" right after replacement of MAF however there is no CEL on the dashboard but it is visible only when I use scanner.

    • @realfixesrealfast
      @realfixesrealfast  5 лет назад +2

      Those kinds of codes are stored in the memory. The fact that the code is there means the computer saw something that would trigger the code but it hasn't turned on the CEL because it wants to be sure it is a real problem and not a possible glitch. Its will continue to monitor the system and if it see's it again it will turn on the CEL. If it does not see ir again, it will leave it stored for reference purposes. A good diagnostic tech can use that stored info to identify a potential problem. The most important thing is to see if there are physical and actual symptoms that match the potential problem.
