We say yes - the WhatsOnStage Award-winning Heathers the Musical will be heading for the screen!
Director Andy Fickman said: "Heathers has captured the hearts and imaginations of so many people in the UK since it was first produced here in 2018. This marks an exciting next step in the show's journey."
CEO of BK Studios David Gilbery: "This is a brilliant opportunity for us to bring this hit show to so many more audiences on a global scale, and we're proud to be partnering with such a prolific studio in making that happen."
The film is being created by Steam Motion and Sound, who are also currently working on screen captures of Waitress, Bonnie and Clyde (recorded at Theatre Royal Drury Lane) and The Prince of Egypt.
Heathers is based on the cult classic film of the same name. It has book, music and lyrics by Kevin Murphy and Laurence O'Keefe, with choreography by Thriller Live's Gary Lloyd, designs by David Shields, lighting by Ben Cracknell and sound by Dan Samson.

Everyone bitching about the cast should realize they’re probably part of the reason we don’t get pro-shots. Reasons like this. Be grateful we even got a pro-shot and don’t complain. This cast was fantastic and I would love a vocal recording of them. I think they’re phenomenal.
(I know this is late) I really don't think that's the reason we don't get pro-shots. It's because they're being gatekeeped likely due to greedy people who don't want them to be seen and therefore have the live audience dwindle because of it. Which honestly does make sense, except that even after shows are long gone, pro-shots still don't get released, which is just weird. It seems like all or multiple casts that West End Heathers has had pretty much all have pro-shot footage that they've posted on the official channel, what look to be REALLY well-done pro-shots as well (like, not just one single low quality camera at a still capturing it, but rather multiple that are capturing it like a film) which gives the idea that it could be something that eventually gets released, and yet they don't for some reason. Even with the original west end cast, they choose to not release the pro-shot of that one? The original cast? It's just weird. I've seen footage of what looks to be a pro-shot of the original off-broadway cast floating around on youtube as well, and well, that was over a decade ago and still no release. The same can be said for so many shows. So yeah, it's just weird.
And don't get me wrong, this cast here is amazing. I'm just saying that that's totally unrelated to why we don't get pro-shots because it's a whole totally different issue lol
@@luna-mo3olI’m fully aware this isn’t the main reason. I’m just saying it certainly doesn’t help when they give us one and everyone whines about the cast. That’s definitely going to make them question what was the point of doing it.
@@NSnicket Yeah I can get behind that. Rather than criticizing the cast which I'd never do, I just criticize these companies.

as for someone who has seen the show live, and the proshot: YES IT DOES, i watched the proshot before i watched the show, and watching the show live was more or less the same experience.

Honestly proshots on to the big screen work pretty well! I saw falsettos on the big screen and from what I remember it worked!

Just watched it and… didn’t like it. For a start Veronica looks about 30. The songs are badly done, The Heathers are meh… just didn’t hit the same as Carries version and previous versions before her
