So far my favorite is making RD-D2/Droid sounds. Crank the resonance on one of the filters, and route the LFO to the cutoff with max LFO depth. Works best with one of the square wave type LFO shapes. Then experiment with the LFO rate and cutoff.
@@Kothag the classic bleep-bloops never go out of style! Try using a low-tuned square wave oscillator on the other drone voice rather than the lfo - you'll get some really fun ring-mod-esque tones that way!
CV for pitch, filter (which is also v/oct) absolutely - I actually show this in the first patch - I'm even using an SQ-1, although it's off-screen. You don't have a VCA or an envelope so "gate" is less useful, but a great, inexpensive way to "fix" that is to use a little, passive low-pass gate (a 0HP one is most convenient). I'm planning a video where I pair the DS-2 with other stuff, and that'll be one of the pairings.
Do you have a favourite tip, trick or patch? Let's share some drone-spiration in this thread!
That last patch is amazing.
Synth becoming drum machine is my favourite genre of patches.
27:50 absolutely magical
Yeah, this patch is really good fun (and very on-brand for me)!
Mines finally arrived so looking forward to trying some of these ideas.
Great work!!
@@markparker4362 yessss! Have fun with it!
Thank you for these suggestions.... very helpful in exploring the DS2
You're very welcome - have fun exploring!
Thank you for the tips, especially the second nasty filter one, holy cow.
@@kevinaaronson I *KNEW* there would be other lovers of disgusting sounds in my audience! Even if you're the only one, it was still totally worth it!
Wonderful stuff
Cheers! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this video

Sounds really, really good. Very inspiring. Can´t wait to try it out. Thanks.
Thanks for watching! It's a super fun little box!
Try doing that on a VST
Can you patch an SQ 1 into it and get cv/gate control of the oscillators? Sort of traditionally?
Yep others did videos of that already
