OK, I appreciate the attention to detail to a point. I am sure that the thousands of people that will swim underneath your boat will appreciate your extra effort...
Love the attention to detail but also agree with Linh... sometimes, enough is enough. Get that boat sailing! Remember, cruising is just another way of saying "doing boat projects in faraway remote locations" - time to get to a remote location ;)
Another great episode on S V basik. ... Teal, your personal theme song needs to be " Bad Habits " , you just can't help yourself......but a damd good finish. Great guys, nice graphics Emma, a talented young lady.
I suspect you have put more attention to detail into the underside of that bridge than quite a few people would put into their top deck. She is really looking beautiful.

Take your time having a boat on land cost Money so just make sure all is done before going back into the sea, But the Boat is looking AWESOME Family well done :)
Hi Teal and family, I hope your sailing adventures grip me just as much as your project work, I’m gutted you’ve nearly finished the boat, I look forward to every episode to see what amazing work you create , Big thumbs up to Emma for the logo design 👍🏻
Teal, you have made a used boat NEW again. I have NEVER seen workmanship at this level except at a place like French & Webb or Lyman-Morse in Maine. I would love to see you build a new boat, I'm sure it ould be done perfectly. I'm thrilled to get ready to watch you get sailing. There is no doubt in my mind that there will never be a sail that isn't trimmed perfectly. You have set the benchmark for everything having to do with yachting. Seeing the graphics go on S/V Basik was a little emotional for me and I'm sure you, Linh and Emma feel the same. Congratulations.
There's a RUclipsr here in Australia that is building a 40ft cat from some molds he purchased, very interesting build but a huge amount of work goes into it, can definitely see why lots of people just refurbish an already existing boat.... his channel is Life on the Hulls if you haven't already found it.
Looking goooooood! Unbelievable how good that Cat is looking. Awesome to see the logos up and awesome job Emma on the design. Teal and Linn my hat off to you!
Teal, ignore the naysayers. I'm with you. Doing it right now ensures problem free sailing later. That's a good thing when your in a remote part of the world, and pieces and parts are hard to find. Nevermind the piece of mind when a big blow pops up and you have to sail thru. Impatience is a real thing. Keep your family safe by building a strong, and reliable boat!
Thanks Mike. This is our home and not only do we want it to be sound and safe, but proud to say we poured our blood, sweat and tears into making her beautiful as well. We treat her well and she will return the favor on our travels.
OMG, 😱 You guys are the best !! Are you going to know what to do with yourselves after the 'projects' are done ?? What an example you set for hard work, perseverance and commitment to each other as well as the jobs at hand !! I wanna ride on S/v basic someday. ✨💕✨🌊⛵️⚓️✨
Richard, our projects will never end. We are just taking them to the high seas. Can't wait to resplash and we will tackle whatever needs to be done while we cruise. Life is passing us by so we gotta get sailing! Wish us luck!
I started re-bingeing from Episode One this afternoon and had to laugh out loud! Emma: When I first saw you, you were barely up to your mom's shoulder. Now you're either the same height or an inch taller! You go, girl.
Teal reminds of a sign in the Engineers office where I worked. "There comes a point in every project where you have to shoot the engineer and begin production" Get that boat splashed!
After watching the entire S/V Basik series up to this point, I ran some quick calculations trying to define "labor of love". At a reasonable labor rate for the skills demonstrated, and with a reasonable margin, I think I'd have to offer Teal, Lynn and Emma at least $300K just for labor. Teal and Lynn would have to SWAG out equipment, materials and supplies. As impressive a demonstration of labor of love as I have ever seen. Looking forward to seeing all enjoy the fruits of the labor!
@@OnboardLifestyle Teal will probably enjoy installing HD video cameras as well. Easy way to record video when swimming and you wouldn't want to miss any marine life in close proximity of that beautiful bridge deck. I once restored a classic wooden boat and it was very shiny indeed, like what you aim for. After relaunch I regularly yelled at the nicest people if it seemed their actions would risk a scratch on the shine. Better keep some imperfections to cope with the stress of the inevitable 😎

I enjoy the weekly videos. Something I was looking forward to is: The new design and rebuilding of the hardtop for the cockpit. I thought it to be a necessity for cruising and a big project to be accomplished on the hard. Have you re-considered the need or the timeline for doing it?
We are going to build the hardtop later this Fall as we start sailing down the Pacific Coast. It is a definite must. Not only for more solar to be installed, but shade, and added protection from the elements while sailing.
