- With beginners and children in mind, this short Hummingbird lesson was created using student grade paints and paper (along with these materials I incorporated a few of my own colors already in my palette).
The full lesson is available along with PDF material and many with others at birgitoconnorw...
The paper used in this video was a version of Canson watercolor paper amzn.to/2xRleuq and mostly a 16 pan Prang watercolor set amzn.to/2V6q8fh
The full Hummingbird lesson can be found here birgitoconnorw...

Thank you, it is you can do this, if needed the line drawing can be found here birgitoconnorwatercolors.teachable.com/p/little-hummingbird11/?preview=logged_out
Enjoyed,thank you!
Thank you
It’s beautiful, but how did you draw the hummingbird, my sketching and drawing is, well, horrible.
I have line drawing in my online courses within my school, but if you think about the size you would like the hummingbird to be, then think of an oval, indent the back a bit, tail, wing and beak you can also try taking a screen shot, trace the image ontop tracing paper place it on a window, and transfer to watercolor paper
i tried to follow you and some steps werent there for me, but overall I feel like mine turned out okay. Wish we could share the pics.
HI Debora, we have lots of students sharing their pictures within my private WIM FB group facebook.com/groups/952141508547282 but you must first be a member of birgitoconnorwatercolors.teachable.com/p/watercolor-in-motion OR you can post in my Free FB group for online students facebook.com/groups/468879963315985
I'm not a good splatterer, and the one thing l wanted to see was how the flowers were done, which was edited completely out. :(
Oh my god that mixing tray, where did you get it???
it is a Richeson shallow well palette that you can get from most online art suppliers like Dick Blick or Cheap Joes
it is disappointing that a free demo does not provide color choices. the links all have a fee.
I'm sorry you feel that way, the full in depth lesson is very inexpensive, a Free demonstration shows the technique
