Update - WOW. Over 1000 from this video. Thanks y'all! I don't even know what to say, just thanks. I appreciate all of y'all! Almost to 1000 subscribers! Thanks to all of you who have liked and subscribed so far, it means a lot to cross this milestone (and hopefully with this video we do). Crossing this mark will enable me to focus more on this stuff and making more content. Coming up is camping season, so expect some videos about that, camping in weird places and eating what I catch. I'm also going to start branching out to new areas, trying new techniques and new lures. I'm excited about the next chapter of this channel and can't wait to show y'all the real way I grew up fishing up in the woods of North Louisiana. So thanks again y'all! This means a lot.
Had both time and decent Lake P conditions yesterday, launched canoe at Cane(forgot paddle at home-Wifey brought it and our beloved little Pug to me at Cane Bayou Launch)and made the monster paddle to Goose Point area, hit one of my most-productive areas and was NOT disappointed, nabbing handful of specks, actually lost more than I boxed and lost fine bass.Came home with one 15 in speck, lost two more and suprisingly saw ZERO ducks but did see three small deer walking on E side of Cane and then they swam across Cane to get to Fountainbleau State Park,s deer haven. Can't wait to get back out as Lake water was gorgeous!!!
Man that is a fantastic day. I haven't been able to fish much since this video but man I can't wait for these winds to die down and get back out there.
Great video. I've also recently moved up to Bayou Liberty area from Southshore. On Oct 11, I put in at Foggy Waters Marina - excellent launch facility and store - headed to Point Chein to practice poling my skiff in advance of Louisiana Invitational fly tournament. Jack Crevalle were exploding on schools of pogies all around me. Water clarity and bottom conditions almost exact mirror of Lower Alabama and FL Panhandle bays. The Lake is healing!
Yeah actually one of the big reasons I decided to learn this area is I want to fish Florida and Texas. This is the best analog I have to those areas. And man I hope to see you out there. I'm learning fly myself right now.
Great content man, I have been having luck on the offshore structures and bridges. I fish out of bayou lacombe as well, this past weekend I limited out 3 days in a row.
That's great to hear. I definitely believe you're finding trout. I went out a couple days after this and caught probably 30, that was two weeks ago so I'm sure those that I let go are now keeper size and more keepers are coming in. Hopefully I can get out again soon to see for myself.
Nice video-extremely EASY to spook nice reds and it might pay to get to a tad deeper water and cast towards the grassbeds vs being right on top of the grassbeds!!I love sight-fishing for reds just way too bust with our Medicare Consulting Business but gonna MAKE de time!!!
I saw you heading out of bayou lacombe Tuesday around 11 am or so. I was coming back in the pathfinder w the wife. Nice trout there at the end. We were skunked @ trestles.
Man, there were a lot of folks out that day huh? Yeah, I mentioned in this video I thought jerkbaits would work well so I went right back to this area to try that. I need to start editing that video, still mostly little trout but I probably caught triple what I caught in this video.
I have the same thoughts. I moved to the north shore in 2017. Grew up fishing the west shore of Lake Pontchartrain, Lafitte, and Hopedale. After a long hiatus, I am getting the boat back in tip top shape and im going to start learning the north shore and try to figure out the areas you were in, all the way to the Lake Borgne area. My daughter is in town this week, and I was thinking about taking her out in that same area next week. Possibly fishing, possibly crabbing. Heck, the shrimp are in, i might just pull the trawl for a bit. Like your content. Keep up what your doing.
That all sounds awesome man, hope to see you out there. I really can't wait to bring my daughter with me on these, she's just 4 now and I think finally ready to get out there on the water. Can't wait for that. Thanks for watching man.
Thanks man! Yeah I'm sure the big girls are in and I can't wait to go find em. But dude if you ever see me out there say hey. You were also an inspiration for this.

Definitely. I'll be back out there soon trying the same thing from further out.

@@catchyalater mine started coming along with me at 4. She's 19 now.
@@TheSHOP411 that's what it's all about man.
Topwaters are your friend right now in that area, have fun. Lot of fish to be had
Yeah I'm waiting for the wind to die down a bit but this cold front has me thinking some bigger girls may have moved in. Only one way to find out.
Yuuup Yuuup
Just subbed! Yeah man, there has been a bunch of school trout, the bigger ones are on the way!

@@catchyalater definitely man! I might be out on my yak Monday.
@@fishinwithferg6048 I saw birds diving on my morning daycare commute this am. Hope you made it out there for it.
@@catchyalater I had a job pop up thankfully. I hate to miss on em but gotta hustle
Not a bad day at all. You're in the water 10 minutes from the house catching fish.
Yep, I'll take that. And with this cold front that just came in, I'd be willing to bet more 15" plus fish will be following that in.
I got new baits for ya. Just been out of town so much, my bad bro.
It's all good dude! I know that pogie color you have would've killed in this technique.
