A couple things here, I see some negative comments about 10. I drive F8 in real life, have family who do demo derbies, etc. I'm 28 and have been going to races since I've been a baby. There's even footage of me as a child watching my aunt race at the local track. I know my stuff, sorta! 10 was just smart in the heat race. You don't wanna go out there and break everything before getting into the main event. He kept his hits even and flush on the rear bumper, and hit as often as he needed to. It's about where you hit, not about how hard. He didn't hit hard, because he doesn't have to. It's a heat derby, not a main event. 10 was a good driver, and a smart driver. A lot of these other guys went out there and swung as hard and as fast as they could, which works for like 3-4 really good shots and then your car is fucked lol. He wasn't sandbagging, he wasn't paying people to not hit him, he was just a step ahead of everyone else in terms of position and keeping his car together. It's about survival, not about the biggest hit last time I checked lol. Same thing in the main event. Try to catch peoples corners, quarter panels, and tires with a nice flush shot from the rear bumper. You don't see MMA fighters go out there and swing until they die, they take calculated shots.
He hit enough to not qualify as a sandbagger, but, he never once swung for the fences. Towards the end, you should do that. Some derbies will pay the mad dog just as much as the winner (a GREAT idea).
I can’t believe they didn’t put a good front bumper on these cars, the sheet metal pre 74 bumpers are junk. Plus that’s crazy they let a imperial run against a front wheel drive car number 36. That would be my ideal derby but the imperial needed a real bumper on the front.
Boring! If you want to see some real demolition derby action, seek out some of what us Brits do or even better, the Dutch! Loads of high speed hits, cars destroyed in one go! Try it!
@@symbologee Ah yes! The game that is so complicated that a lot of US citizens can`t understand the rules and watch UK soccer instead! Anyway, I`m more of a rugby fan myself. one of that stupid protection and helmets so you can actually see the players.
@@jbbumpkin I've watched hundreds of them. I'm a fan of them. BIG fan! The cars don't last obviously, but, pretty fucking interesting! I'm not opposed to banger racing what so ever. BUT, I also love the really good demo derbies too.

Yeah I know, you guys have lots of it but it still makes me sad to see classics getting destroyed.
Most of these cars get pulled out of a field not worth saving

I agree with you. Has any driver go past the gray line in rules I see that a lot in Michigan some promoters will not
A low that
Looks like a great track with a poor promoter.
Was that a imperial? What a shame, I wanted one awhile back I saw for sale but it was out of my price range
The imperial and Fury were probably worth around $4,000.00.
It looks like the number 10 cars sandbagging a lot
Great show. Just wondering how much the 10 car paid people to not hit him. Just live taps beside the front wheel drive that was getting it
what a sand bagger B-2. The officals let him do it. great show.
This derby isn't very good, but, there are a few really good ones in the USA...
What kind of car is the thumbnail car
A 1972 Plymouth Fury
these cars smashed up are still better than any of the new garbage made today......

Ya not to smart using the front end to hit with with that small bumper. Should have used the rear which is like a tank.
the demo derbys at my county fair suck...no big 4 door cars
Really cool
Interesting race
Spend too much time running from each other

banger racing and demolition derbies are two different things
American football is 10000000000 times better than soccer, but, they're also different
@@symbologee Might be in the US, not the case in Europe! European banger racing is that hard you don`t need demolition derbys!

This is a demolition derby, right? 🙄
You are a sandbagger
Who?

Good to see the old iron get crushed up guys. The electric car is much more fun and much better than these soul less beasts…
i really hope you are being sarcastic?
Has to be sarcastic nobody that Californian hahaha
