Bravo! Great use of the slide ( Blacker's is sorely underrated in this department ) & your vibrato was a great example of how Blackmore's can be frantic, yet controlled ( he has many different vibratos ) and dramatic. He really played melodically on this tune, every note counted....and you did a great job covering it. Mucho respect.
Thank you! He does have different vibratos. He is just a master of music in every way. I made a follow up video about playing slide, trying to break down his playing in case you’re interested.
@@martindoherty6855 he was smart enough to only create instrumentals when he had somehing to say so they all came out soulful and amazing. But if one stands out is has to be this indeed.
@@DogwithtwoBones WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank You so so much! I guess, I`m really super lucky, it`s a mistery, such a coincidence!!!
Great performance! I really like this song and the transition from slide to “traditional” ritchie style playing. The solo on this is so much more comprehensive and composed than something like “under the gun” or “knocking at your back door” lol. Best of luck deciphering those solos!
I like how nuanced it is too. Although I do very mich like the outro solo of knocking at the back door. I should give it a shot some day but I rarely play 80s Blackmore, i got stuck in the 70s :D
What scales is Maybe Next time using? What are the advantages of using a scalloped fretboard? has Blackmore ever said why he uses a scalloped fretboard because he can do things on it.
Maybe next time is a simple A natural minor. He uses scalloped fretboards to have a better angle for bending the strings. ha kinda talks about it in his guitar collection video, it's on youtube.
I actually hate playing the slide like his when I have to do it I only mute with my picking hand and I can’t even do my usual blocking because of the pick. I recorded a slide explanation video where I discuss everything about it, will be out next saturday.

Don't get my criticism in the wrong way, but I think your tone lacks quite a bit of sustain and meat, especially in the second part of the song (not talking about gain). What do you think?

Ritchie's best instrumental and he did some brilliant ones too.

Right on, one of my favorite instrumentals. Fantastic job! Thank you.
Same here, thank you!
I have always loved this song!
Probably my favourite instrumental.
I must admit I never realized that song was so beautiful. You nailed it brother.
Thank you so much!
Absolutely epic. You nailed the tone and the whole song was right on. Gave me goosebumps.
Thank you so much, I appreciate the kind words Darlene!
Hermoso tema y muy bien interpretado. Muchas felicidades por interpretar al gran Ritchie Blackmore. Es mi guitarrista favorito!
Thank you Jose, Blackmore is my favourite too, he's the best!
Perfect! I want to learn it from you step by step.
Thanks! Hope the video helps. Also I do skype lessons if you ever need more hands on help.
Just discovered your channel ,Great playing, beautiful emotional track, :)
Thank you, it’s all Blackmore except what was lost in translation.
Super!! Perfect playing and great job with the tabs. Your Gumroad page is a great resource, thanks!
Thank Max! I just wish I didnt hate tabbing this much :D
It sounds amazing.Con

Great as always.
Please make a lesson or review on Love's no friend song. There a lot of a tasty and good phrases and riff. Thanks.
Good idea, I really should do something from Down To Earth and Love's No friend is a great song.
@@DogwithtwoBones 👍
Loving that tone 👍
Thanks I dig the tone too. It's the leosounds munich 77 pickups to a GuitarSlinger RB1011 preamp pedal to a marshall SV20 head.
Absolutely fantastic, better then Ritchie nowadays 😉 Bravo!
I wouldn’t go that far but thank you so much!
Beautiful man❤

Yes it is scalloped, the guitar is a Fender Blackmore signature.

Got the blackmore slide hold down nicely. Are you muting with your slide hand index finger behind the slide?

Hey great job …Are you using a jet slide here? Or what is it you’re using?
No just a regular cheap generic dunlop slide.

I understand what you mean but by now I kinda got used to playing without the huge volume Blackmore had so it wasn’t bothering my while playing.
@@DogwithtwoBones I thought the volume problem would be bypassed by the reactive load unit, but I'm probably missing something here :(

TBH for me it,s too syrup. (I mean the original hit.) It,s not a "When a blind man cries" kinda real tragic and "white" blues-ballad.
Yeah when a blind man cries is more raw or pure for sure but I can listen to this all day too.
