- this is for educational purposes only, i do not own any of the content expressed in this film, it was simply made for an assignment for University, and what better person to do it on, bob rock is best known for recording and producing bands such as The Offspring, Metallica and Motley Crue and many more.
if i could work with one producer....Rock would be the guy I choose.
from my home city, Winnipeg Canada!
100%
So true. Believe in yourself and make actions towards it and it will be fruitful
And a lot of people don’t know he’s originally from WInnipeg. They just say he’s Canadian.
Bob never recieves the credit he deserves, although his work on the black album is legendary but his work on garage inc is just remarkable.
That might be true, but he is the most Famous Record producer I've heard of. Can you name any others?
alonso valencia haha to true
Bob Rock deserves a credit..Incredible man full of vision
Great!
Glad you like it
Took me a while to do.
Mick Mars has that unique guitar sound that only he can conjure.. it's just a different energy...
Hi BLitZErize: I think Bob Rock is great, and it's really nice that you've done this, but the actual name of Bob and Paul Hyde's band was The Payolas, (with an "S"). Also, Daniel Lanois's name is pronounced like LAN-WAH (it's French).
Ah thanks for that. It was for an assignment. I a had to do. I tried my best. Thanks for the corrections
I wrote an essay once on Mick Ronson's time in Canada. Bob was in it a lot!
+Madeleine Hague awesome
He made Motley Crues best album Dr Feelgood and also Aerosmith Metallica etc I would donate a kidney to get a chance to have him produce a song for me.
Bob Rock is a good producer. I have never heard the bands music he put out in the 80's but might check it out. Been a Metallica fan since 1995. Bobs work on the black album is simply amazing. He did good job on Load, and Reload as well. The drum sound on Black Album is the best i've ever heard drums on a rock album.
PearlJammer07 indeed
I think the load era stuff sounds great. People can dislike the material all they want and thats fair enough but sonically they sound great in my opinion.
Bob Rock was instrumental in the absolutely massive John Sykes guitar sound on Whitesnake 87 and the first Blue Murder album.
No narrative order at all. Unwatchable
@@2255223388 John Sykes' guitar tone on the Whitesnake 87 and first Blue Murder album was unwatchable? Huh?
The black album is the most overall solid album ever recorded. If you disagree, I will still stand by and believe in my statement until I am dead.
Most overall solid album? What does that even mean?
How dumb it doesn’t touch master.
@@thedadyouneverhadchannel3544 Master doesn't touch Ride The Lightning. Not even close.
Sure, if glossy 90's rock is what you want. Just don't call it metal.
Music you added was a bit too loud...
Sadly very underrated, different world now pro tools everything.
Yeah indeed
Rock used Pro Tools from time to time as well.
Offspring sounds like the Cult in yhe example used
YUP ! i read your comment first then heard that and go hmmmmmmmmm
I wonder what bob thought of lars goosing him from behind his back, when he saw it.
I love Jason, but he is not the former bassist!
really need to turn down or turn OFF the music in the background...regardless if it's Metallica
Oh, thanks for the feedback, much appreciated
All you Bob Rock haters, did you hear what your boy Newsted just said? (cause I know you all worship him like an abandoned puppy)
I'm not really a fan of the direction they took after And Justice, but let's be real here....Justice SUCKED in terms of production, and the Black album was probably one of their best sounding records. The bass was finally heard. Even in the Cliff days the bass wasn't mixed that well.
A couple notes.....
Rock started by producing punk bands from Vancouver in the 70's west coast hardcore scene.
And not to split too many hairs, but the "s" was always pronounced.
Ah good info, thank you
After Black Album, Metallica went bonkers. Hardwired was good album. That's 20 years of downhill!
Hardwired... to self destruct is the album that could match the production quality of the Black album. Greg Fiddleman is Metallica's new Bob Rock.
What headphones do you use? It sounds like shit to me. GF is a nod along engineer, which is why half the songs have 2 minutes of unnecessary mid tempo drudge dragging them down. That would never have got past Rock.
@@kirrithkovacs5097 you have a point... But compared to Death Magnetic, Hardwired is way better; production wise.
Probably not known to most unless you follow every genre out there.
But Bob also produced and mixed this album for a Christian rock band.
It definitely has his signature thud when it comes to drums and bass and heavy guitar.

She was a Bon Jovi groupi
This guy killed Metallica.
Bullshit. Metallica wanted to be more to the point and wanted to have more thickness in the sound. Bob Rock only helped them achieve what they wanted, and eventually they became the best metal band ever. The Black Album introduced millions of people to metal, and still does to this day and sells thousads of copies worldwide.
@@machello9 and Load and Reload are good albums
@@simonealbertini5580 fuck yeah. There's some deep shit in there.
if metallica didn't hire Bob Rock it would be just a normal metal band like others
@Efe A. 35 I hardly call the black album "metal", but whatever...
