@@dougcomerford5551 I made it clear in the title that this was going to be an explainer video for why the Y is so popular. I’m sure there are plenty of other vids out there explaining why the Y sucks
@@LudicrousFeed If you could explain further that would be great as I'm looking to purchase an EV for my next car. In the regional area I live we are surrounded by dirt roads and though only travelling on them occasionally as we stick mainly to the main sealed roads, it can be tricky on the hilly dirt if a vehicle is one wheel drive. I know that nearly all ICE FWD are one wheel drive and many ICE RWD can add power to both wheels via a limited slip differential, but have no idea with BEV's. Obvioulsy I could choose an AWD BEV but at this stage are out of our budget.
@@LudicrousFeed No worries, thought it might be a bit tricky. Your viewers might be able to help, or a good topic for "The Driven" as an EV Explainer article.
Stuart these cars run an open differential. Torque will naturally go to the wheel with the least resistance. Usually the outside wheel during a turn. With open diffs drive can be moved with the traction control “braking” the wheel that loses traction. This then bias’ torque to the opposite wheel. This is no different to most cars btw
It's the last tesla to be suitable to the average buyer who isn't going to relearn how to cope without less basic driving comtrols. It's now a fading club car that hasn't YET been decluttered. Be quick for the last of the broadly acceptable Teslas.
Hi I am keen to get your feedback on BYD sealion6 hybrid AWD. As I am interested to get your perspective of it compared to Tesla Model Y. I drive about 110 kms a day for work.
Thanks for the reply , I spoke with Tesla today they have announced that the are not brining the updated model Y to Australia this year or even better part of 2025 also
Great homage to a car that is obviously near to your heart. I don't know if it is true, but it feels like Chinese manufactured Tesla's have better quality control than the North American versions? I hear you when you say judge the car not the CEO - unfortunately Musk's hate speech will always drive people away from the brand - it is a pity as the company has been at the forefront of a lot of innovation. Thanks for all the work you do on the channel 😀
I appreciate what Tesla has done for the industry as a whole but for me personally I find their looks which I realise is subjective that they all look identical to each other just stretched or squished that excludes the CT. Too minimalist as well on the interior even my teens didn't like the interior. I like a handle to open the glove box and key buttons for key features like fan control volume control turn on recirculation as a few examples. Personally though I don't mind what someone drives for a car as long as it's an EV is the main thing. My next EV for example is the 2024 Kona EV Premium trim because it has the features I want.
So why have you not talked about how you objected to giving freely your id imformation to costco when you joined, oh its the car companies you object to.
Great deals if buying 2nd hand. Agreed though, thw depreciation is insane. Owning one and trying to sell currently to buy a newer Tesla is ridiculously difficult. Buy one if you are prepared to die in it.
Just shows you how many boring and conservative dullards are out there. Also do you think it might have been because people were waiting for the new model and Tesla had a delay in gearing up the production line for the new model, reducing supply for a period towards the end of 2023.
@LudicrousFeed by promoting ev to people to buy is a sin. A Model Y dropped 20k within 12 months! It's like telling people to go to the casino. I am believed 100%, ev is a scamm. Only winners is elon and it's shareholders
Do u buy car for ur personal use or reselling? Why do u care if the price increase or decrease once u bought it? All u have to think of is whether it is serving the purpose of u bought or not.
@@timthompson3212 EVs are now close to ICE vehicles in cost, they are a substitute good for many. Any more price drops to EVs will result in ICE vehicles suffering quicker depreciation also. With high quality EVs coming in from China, that are improving much faster than ICE, get used to it, no matter what you own.
Nup....they look terrible....all sorts of things fail on them , places like where I live still no charging places , long term battery power concerns , no character , not so great after sales reputation.....Hybrid maybe at some stage but I'll stick to my Falcon XR6 for a good while yet...

Are you asking because you have an answer to your question or you’d like me to explain further?
@@LudicrousFeed If you could explain further that would be great as I'm looking to purchase an EV for my next car. In the regional area I live we are surrounded by dirt roads and though only travelling on them occasionally as we stick mainly to the main sealed roads, it can be tricky on the hilly dirt if a vehicle is one wheel drive. I know that nearly all ICE FWD are one wheel drive and many ICE RWD can add power to both wheels via a limited slip differential, but have no idea with BEV's. Obvioulsy I could choose an AWD BEV but at this stage are out of our budget.
@@stuartkenyon1052 Ok I’ll see what info I can dig up … it’s quite a technical question!
Get ‘em while stalks last? 😜
Does it still rattle? @8:00
Seems much better these days
Hi I am keen to get your feedback on BYD sealion6 hybrid AWD. As I am interested to get your perspective of it compared to Tesla Model Y. I drive about 110 kms a day for work.
The Model Y will provide more than enough range if you’re only driving 110km/day. Just charge it every night or every other day
@@LudicrousFeedany plans to do Seallion 6 review in near future
Are the bringing out the version that is currently for sale in china with the internal upgrades etc
Not that I’ve seen thus far unfortunately
Thanks for the reply , I spoke with Tesla today they have announced that the are not brining the updated model Y to Australia this year or even better part of 2025 also
Tom did the my have mood lighting
No mood lighting sadly
Quicksilver looks sooooooooooooooo good
🤩
Couple more years and I will trade my M3LR for a new MYP in Quicksilver with the white interior. Counting down the days.
By then maybe the new face-lifted Y will probably have arrived
I bought 2 model Y’s in 2023.
P & RWD

The best system for avoiding a speeding ticket is sticking to the speed limit!
Yes that’s where the adaptive cruise control comes in handy
I think the steering wheel degradation is people who use sanitizer and touch the wheel.
Hmm plausible explanation I suppose
No boot cover inside the car now?
Yes I also noticed that! Maybe because this is a media car 🤔
How much in Australia Tesla y RWD price
$60,900 MSRP before onroads
It's the new Q5/Q7, used exclusively by uber drivers.
You know they’re good value when it’s being used for Uber 😆
Great homage to a car that is obviously near to your heart. I don't know if it is true, but it feels like Chinese manufactured Tesla's have better quality control than the North American versions?
I hear you when you say judge the car not the CEO - unfortunately Musk's hate speech will always drive people away from the brand - it is a pity as the company has been at the forefront of a lot of innovation.
Thanks for all the work you do on the channel 😀
Pleasure! Yes the Shanghai cars are built very well 👍
I did not mean you, i meant people who object. Sorry Tom.
Haha lol
Love the way people say they wouldn’t buy a Tesla because of Elon Musk, don’t think anyone gives a shit about Tim Cook before they buy an iPhone.
Interesting that many take it very personally too
@@LudicrousFeed When you are in a group that is being targetted by Musk, it is hard not to take it personally.
Understandably - if you are at the receiving end.
Amazing cat

Как же крсиво! И сама тесла и город вокруг.
🙏👍
I appreciate what Tesla has done for the industry as a whole but for me personally I find their looks which I realise is subjective that they all look identical to each other just stretched or squished that excludes the CT. Too minimalist as well on the interior even my teens didn't like the interior. I like a handle to open the glove box and key buttons for key features like fan control volume control turn on recirculation as a few examples. Personally though I don't mind what someone drives for a car as long as it's an EV is the main thing. My next EV for example is the 2024 Kona EV Premium trim because it has the features I want.
Yup and all valid reasons why someone may not choose to buy a Tesla 👍
I have never even opened my glovebox.
You really need to drive a Q4 to see the difference in refinement...the Y is not refined.
Only the hardest of hard core Tesla fans would disagree with your statement
So why have you not talked about how you objected to giving freely your id imformation to costco when you joined, oh its the car companies you object to.
Huh? I personally have no problem with giving my info when I sign up to things. I’m just making viewers aware of Tesla’s privacy policy etc
Why would you judge Elon Musk or Tesla, both him and his companies are at the forefront of everything they do.
Model y is hell ugly. I want a Highland 3 Performance in Quicksilver. But not available
Would you consider a Model Y if it had a refresh similar to the new 3?
@@LudicrousFeed No. Will still look like a tall Noddy car.
Big Ears! That brings me back …
Depreciation monster. Good luck selling it in 3 years
On the flip side there are some good deals going round for used Teslas 😁
Great deals if buying 2nd hand. Agreed though, thw depreciation is insane. Owning one and trying to sell currently to buy a newer Tesla is ridiculously difficult.
Buy one if you are prepared to die in it.
This is why we lease! 😂
We normally keep cars for 10 yrs, so not an issue.
Flat screen tvs cost $20,000k, 20 yrs ago
How often the map updates? It didn't pick up Westconnex for me.
In 2023, Toyota Camry outsold the Model 3. And with good reason.
There’s a reason why they’re everywhere
Just shows you how many boring and conservative dullards are out there. Also do you think it might have been because people were waiting for the new model and Tesla had a delay in gearing up the production line for the new model, reducing supply for a period towards the end of 2023.
Tesla is the king of " super quick depreciation" car brand. It's so heartbreaking of buying such rubbish........
Price dropped again today! (21 May 2024)
@LudicrousFeed by promoting ev to people to buy is a sin.
You have to do what’s best for your situation 👍
