New Eridu being the last major city/metropolis left on the planet was already stated in the game description and on ZZZ's website. Personally, I think that the overall carefree look adds in a way to the creepiness and horror of the setting. Everyone, playable characters included, are striving to live a semi-normal life cherishing moments and memories, while also carrying their own responsibilities after getting their life changed by the apocalypse. But even in those happy moments, the danger of Hollows is *always* present, even visually: let's take for example Belobog's construction site, where you can see a giant Hollow standing right of front of it... While you can hang out with Koleda and her gang. Also it says a lot that, despite New Eridu possibly being the major last city left on Earth, people and organizations like Vision or TOPS still try to "weaponize" Hollows for their own selfish goals: even at the end of mankind, who is at the top will only see others getting helplessy swallowed by Hollows. That's also why the HIA Club motto inside the main hall is: "We'll free this world from the Hollows." There's no other possible way around (at least at the moment): or mankind will win or everything will get corrupted by Ether. Probably the main reason why humanity is still trying to live to the fullest is because there's hope. For example, indipendently if during Chapter 5 we discovered Bringer's real self, his actions inspired a young Zhu Yuan to be a cop that does everything to save people; Koleda and Grace support each other a lot and compensate their own insecurities and flaws; the love and support Harumasa recieves from his Section 6's colleagues is the only reason he hasn't lost his will to live yet. Everything in this game is about making connections and creating memories with others in a world that, in the future, may erase everything. It's dark and grim but also really hopeful.

Over generations after Eridu’s founding, the city lost more than it gained, culminating in the Hollow Zero even 11(?) years ago. It’s obvious to everyone that humanity is loosing this fight.

You don't have Lucy? I mean, I can see someone not having Burnice, Soldier 11 or Koleda, as they are all S rank characters, but Lucy is A rank and has been in the game from the beginning. Even Ben is decent for certain playstyles.

The game is a whole lot better with this update. We can get into action a lot faster, combat an upgrade feel amazing. Now all that’s left is a freaking map (instead of a logo menu) and we need a way to sort the missions on our schedule and not have every single mission just mixed in with others. I know these things seem kinda minor but in the long run they do matter. Hopefully a full revision of the game will drop in 2.0 and we will all be better for it. Continue the good work people! 😊
I have played every hoyo game for hundreds of hours. This one is my absolute favorite (Admittedly, Honkai I had less hours on) and always will be. I love the story, the characters, and my god Miyabi. MY GOD. I feel like I AM the anime when I'm playing as her.
I was wondering why New Eridu seemed to be the only governing body in the region. The Outer Ring was said to be independent from New Eridu's government but at the time it didn't make sense to me because surely they were in the same country. But now it makes sense. New Eridu *is* one of the last governing bodies left along with the Outer Ring on the entire planet. The Hollow Disaster was more catastrophic than I realized.

I know these things seem kinda minor but in the long run they do matter. Hopefully a full revision of the game will drop in 2.0 and we will all be better for it. Continue the good work people! 😊

I have played every hoyo game for hundreds of hours. This one is my absolute favorite (Admittedly, Honkai I had less hours on) and always will be. I love the story, the characters, and my god Miyabi. MY GOD. I feel like I AM the anime when I'm playing as her.

I was wondering why New Eridu seemed to be the only governing body in the region. The Outer Ring was said to be independent from New Eridu's government but at the time it didn't make sense to me because surely they were in the same country. But now it makes sense. New Eridu *is* one of the last governing bodies left along with the Outer Ring on the entire planet. The Hollow Disaster was more catastrophic than I realized.
