I'm glad I listened to this podcast because I realized my childhood was a mixture of Ryan's and Chistina's childhood. My mom had borderline and I had no other choice but to watch her life spiral out of control. How many other people have a mom with borderline personality disorder?

I remember getting bullied a few times when I was young cuz I was so nice to everybody and my parents told me punch them right in the nose and it will stop. That was elementary school and by highschool I remember being super scrappy because my parents wouldn't ground me as long as I was defending myself. Shout out to my ma when I got suspended 3 times in a year and I wasnt allowed to go to the last day of the year field party and we went horseback riding up in the mountains instead I'll never forget that

Born in ‘95. They definitely had a husky section when I was growing up, I lived in it.

Husky sizes lasted through the 90's too. That was my section lol. Now fat kids just go to Walmart, where everything is made husky sized 😅

I dated a goth boy in high school too Christina. He too was the sweetest boy ever! He didn't wear eyeliner but he wore the clothes and trench coat thing. He still to this day, (I'm 39 now), is the nicest guy I've ever been with. He was so caring, respectful, and so romantic!! I'm married now and he is too(checked on facebook). But young girls out there: Don't judge a book by the cover. Trust me....it's better to be treated right, then to have a piece of arm candy that treats u like crap. 💖

I’m from Jersey and I grew up pronouncing radiator the same. I live in FL now and people regularly do a double take when I say that word. Lol I work in truck parts so it comes up quite a bit.

I had a really good moment of clarity explaining why are you shouldn’t swear/why it makes you sound less smart. I told him that you use swear words like punctuation, if you use a bunch of semicolons in your sentence it doesn’t make any sense but if you put one in just the right spot it can make all the difference.

Ryan's relationship with his mother today gives me hope that I might have some relationship with mine by the time I have kids. I'm not counting on it, but maybe it's possible.

My mom died when I was 12 and my dad was a heroin addict and went to prison for six years so by my teen years I was totally raised by my grandparents. Lots of my friends who were teens in the mid 80’s had fucked up familes. So yeah Christina talking about drinking with her dad was totally normal for me. My kids think I should write a book
