What a fun little town! I love beach towns, Lu and I went to Siesta Key for our anniversary and it was one of my favorites! We didn't plan anything, just headed there and walked around, watched the sun set, it was so much fun. We're always looking for more places to visit on day trips, I think I'll add John's Pass to our list! I've never seen a tiki bar boat before! It looked fun! The tea and spice shop looked awesome, too. AND SONNY'S!! Oh man, I love Sonny's BBQ! All of them near us are closed, it sucks! I miss their sweet tea and corn fritters! YUM! Great video, looks like y'all had a nice day, thanks for sharing!!

I went to John's Pass and Treasure Island as a kid every Summer when visiting my family in Florida. It's awesome down there... Ahhh the memories, thanks for posting this!

The perfect video after a craptastic day! The next best thing to actually being there and relaxing on the beach! The spice store reminds me of the spice store in Old Scottsdale that's run by Frankie Muniz and his wife. Excellent place and highly recommend it if you get back that a-ways!

I grew up (and still live) relatively close to some beach towns, plus I have quite a bit of family in the Canadian maritimes, so towns like always make me feel right at home. That shark breaching through the building is heckin’ epic though! Parrots of the Caribbean is the best name ever for a tour 😅 Whoa… That’s one big chicken wing! 👀 Leave it to these tourist towns to be as quirky and weird as possible lol. Seems like every store had something fun to see. Now, I’ve never kissed a gator, but I have been peed on by one 😬 Amazing video as usual Cris!

I’m making my list from your great videos, for a road trip I need to take thru my home state of Florida! There are so many places I never saw in the 49 years I lived there! Always loved Johns Pass. One of the many perks of living here. Also, if you and Jay want to do the Parrots of the Caribbean boat you saw going down the road, Groupon has a deal for that.
That place is huge and cute. We lived in Destin and didn’t have Sea Grape there. We first saw it when we went to Vero Beach. It’s so pretty I love it! Also didn’t think they had actual “sea grapes” on them. Glad you’re in your happy place.

We LOVE Madeira Beach!!! Once the kids move out we are moving there! Super cute and friendly little beach town!!!
As for the sea grapes, I was curious and looked it up and per University of Florida, Though not true grapes, these fruits are edible and the taste is often compared to muscadine grapes.

I was in the area in May but only made it as far north as Upham Beacn. I stayed in Pass-A-Grille, which is a lot less commercial/more laid back. Interesting that you saw Her Majesty--from what I've heard, she's a pretty nice girl but doesn't have a lot to say. A suggestion for the next time you venture out to St. Petersburg: maybe you could check out The James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art. It has one of the best collections of western-themed art I've seen (and I've seen quite a few)

I was at John's Pass last weekend and the same rime last year. This year we pulled up to park, $40 for 2 hours? I'm not a cheapskate, but no way. Last year it was half that price. But I love Madeira Beach and we will be back again next year.
