All it does is let you make mistakes faster, make pretty pictures, and easily create parts which cannot be manufactured. All that CAD does really - is make erasing easier. No more pencil and paper, and version control is a huge boon. Starting with 3D models from the git-go was such a huge paradigm shift that the entire industry basically ignored Dasseault Systeme for decades before SolidWorks took off and then suddenly AutoDicks and the rest had to play catch-up.
As we see incredibly complex and complicated structures with 2D visuals made especially in Military fields, I feel that we are moving away from these abilities and perfection as humanity. As someone who is currently dealing with 3D Software, my admiration grows exponentially as I see the difficulties of even making 2D devices and tools 3D. I am constantly working in the hope that one day I will be able to produce such quality work.
thank you very much for this video, i'm building a lego technic replica of a mi-24 hind with a working rotor hub and i'm staring at this video daily...i think i just got the last piece figured out (the connector piece between the top of the rotor shaft and the swash-plate, i didn't realize what it was for until i built everything else and it didn't want to work as it supposed to.

I like the arrangement it shows the gyro precision compensation angles. If not mistaken, I saw 45 degrees offset at pitch horns and the other 45 degrees at swashplate which totals to 90 degree offset cyclic input, thus clearly showing that gyro precision is true. To fellow tech enthusiasts who haven't heard about "gyro precision" before, this concept simply says; if u give a tilting command to a rotating disk, the reaction or result will happens 90° later. In our case it simply mean if we were to give forward cyclic to a helicopter to tilt the rotor disk forward or simply to go forward, we need to give lateral or side tilt command given that the pitch horns and swashplate have no offset angle of 90 degrees in total.
This!! This is the thing kids must watch. But nowadays they waste the TV and internet with some meaningless or even dangerous shows like twilight, twerking or that imbecile naked adults show where grown up people all naked stand in front of kids and take questions about adult life (on dutch tv).
helicopters are fricken dangerous. -and thats not even factoring in metal fatigue micro cracks in the forged parts that develop over time. the entire thing is a death trap.
