- Create a custom kitchen and organize with me!
While our kitchen remodel was built with custom cabinetry, I used all after market organizational tools to cut costs. Creating a custom kitchen is a worth while investment, but some of the custom organization that cabinet makers offer can be duplicated for a much more affordable cost by the homeowner.
Here are my favorite kitchen organization ideas from Amazon and other quick sources that anyone can implement into their kitchen cabinetry.

Love your attitude! Nothing is a pity in your beautiful kitchen! Congratulations on a great design!
I had to come back and comment after rewatching your video. You have so many great tips. I have been getting more organized but funtion over perfect or pretty. I really appreciate your relaxed approach to a pretty and funtional kitchen. Job well done!
Thank you so much!
Thank you!!
If your kitchen works for you and it brings you joy, that’s all that matters! Love your kitchen.
Yes! Thank you!
I love your kitchen!!’ You’re organizing beast. Love the pretty fridge and your sensibility in leaving the doors as is. Very smart move.
Thanks so much! 😊
You can also order customized dividers from the same Arizona company.
I love the new kitchen! I didn't even notice the fridge until you mentioned it. It's way prettier than mine! I've heard that panel-ready fridges are generally lower quality. It sounds like you made a smart decision. Thanks for all the organizing tips!
Thank you so much!
I agree, I totally planned where all my dishes would go and placed the dishwasher right across.
Awesome!!
I have a paneled sub zero fridge, and I would never do that again. I think yours looks great and is much more functional.
Thanks for sharing your experience!
I do not have a junk drawer. I have only two drawers in my kitchen that are easy to reach; the third is under the double oven. One is for flatware. One is for prepping utensils. One is for dishtowels and aprons. They're narrow and shallow. I have a broom closet that's well organized. Batteries and such go downstairs to the basement where they are organized in small Sterilite desktop plastic drawer units and labeled. The advantage is that I can open up every one of those drawers in the kitchen and they're nicely organized. Also, I use a pretty square plate instead of a traditional spoon rest. This gives me more room to put two spoons and even a ladle on it. It's just more practical for me.
Great ideas!
Your kitchen is absolutely amazing and beautiful! Everything was very well thought out. I love it!
Thank you so much!
I'm starting a kitchen reno next month and your videos are SO helpful! Thank you for taking so much time to add all of the links and explain your thought process. We made the same decision you did regarding the fridge. I think a lot of people don't realize that panel ready fridges are always counter depth and hold significantly less. I saw a video from a family of 4 who really struggled with space. We have 5 teenagers, so I knew that to do panel ready we were looking at a minimum of $18K for a fridge, and as you mentioned, appliances do not last. Anyway, I'm rambling, but thank you for being honest and funny regarding the whole debate. I have a feeling that if most people knew a bit more on the subject they would be stunned counter depth is as common as it is.
Yes!! Knowledge is power and I love my big ol fridge 🤣 So glad these have been helpful!
Thanks Sarah! I loved this video and your kitchen. Lots of great organizational tips that I will most definitely apply when we do our kitchen remodel later this year. Love all that you do ❤.
Glad it was helpful!
Love your kitchen, love your fidge. Continue doing what's best for you and your family.
Thank you! Will do!😉
Soooooo helpful! I'm in the planning stage, and this really walked me back from the custom option temptations out there.
Glad it was helpful!
Your kitchen is full of your heart and soul.."God has truly blessed the work of your hands. " I soo enjoy watching you and All your cleaver ideas. Thank you for sharing.❤😊
Thank you so much 😊
What a pity you have a beautiful working fridge. 😂😂😂 people will find any reason to complain.
😉❤️❤️
I am so happy I stumbled upon your channel. I’ve been racking my brain about how to design my galley kitchen. I basically have one long wall to work with and your kitchen is FAB U LOUS!!!! I love your style and choices!! EVEN YOUR REFRIGERATOR ❤️ Because mine looks the same. 😊 Thank you!!
I'm so glad! Good luck with the project!
I love the kitchen! Amd showing us the organization that is realistic ❤❤❤
Thanks so much! 😊
You’re so funny! The fridge comment made me laugh! 😂 love the fridge you chose!
Thank you!! 😁
I'm so glad you said what you did about panel-ready refrigerators. The panels will last much longer than the fridge and then you are stuck, and end up with wood panels in the garage and a new stainless fridge anyway. We have walked that road already, so best not to make that mistake.
Thanks for sharing your experience!
Very pretty and great ideas for storage and organization.
Thank you! 😊
Very beautiful and functional kitchen 😊
Thank you so much!
This was great! You have a beautiful kitchen!!!
Thanks so much! 😊
So helpful as I plan a remodel myself. Thank you. I love it all!
You are so welcome!
I was surprised that you got some negative comments about your fridge. I think you have a dream kitchen. I showed it to my son and his wife. They have plans to some day redo their kitchen. They also liked it. I have a few plastic containers on the top shelf of my cupboard for lids that I use on bowls, etc. It's so easy to just pull out the whole container. I love to organize my kitchen items into containers when I can. Like you, it just keeps things where they need to be and then things have a "home". I like your pull out with oils and spices right next to the stove. Great idea for the bands on the glasses. I wish I had that idea when our kids still lived at home. Thanks for sharing how you organize.
My pleasure!
Thanks for sharing your kitchen. Beautiful.
You are so welcome!
One of the most useful videos I have ever watched. ❤😊 Thank-you
Glad it was helpful!
I like the wristband idea I don't like nobody drinking out of my glass . I like your organize style everything in it's place
Thank you!
Amazing practice advice. We are about to start our own renovation and it’s hard to decide where to pay extra and where to not. Love your videos thanks for sharing.
My pleasure!
I'd love to be pitied with that fridge. Your kitchen is a dream.
Haha 😉😉❤️
Picky about a fridge? 🤯 I love your FUNCTIONING kitchen that happens to be gorgeous! I would rather put my $ into either a quality countertop, cabinets or backsplash than a paneled fridge, and like you said, they are usually counter depth meaning less fridge space which, for active families with kids, means a secondary fridge some place else. I much prefer clear acrylic containers and glass jars to organize anything in than baskets or canvas bins where you can’t see inside of. I absolutely love your spice/oil cabinet, how ingenious! That knife block! I just love your kitchen the way it is! Again, FUNCTIONAL and GORGEOUS!
Thank you so much!
The "pitiful" comment just cracked me up!! I got some great, practical organizational ideas from you. Thanks so much for sharing! (And I just love your kitchen!)
You are so welcome!
hey girl- love the video! such a pretty kitchen. great job organizing!!
Thank you so much!!
Everything is lovely
Thank you!
So so beautiful and functional, so worth the wait!
Thank you so much!
Your kitchen is gorgeous, well organized, and your your sense of humor side-splitting. You have a working kitchen that you love. I use clear rectangle containers in my refrigerator to organize shelves/sections and prevent spillage. I use similar clear containers in my pantry for organizing. My stainless steel appliances are quite the eye sore, as well, but I love them as they all function properly and that is the whole point. Warm Hugs and Congratulations 🎈
Thank you so much! Sounds like you have great methods!
Beautiful organization…love your kitchen thank you for sharing..🤍🤍🤍🤍👌👌
Thank you so much 😊
Wonderful ideas....just ordered the phone holder!
Glad you liked it!
Great ideas and planning.
Water bottle drawer…perfect.
Thank you so much 😊
I used those spring loaded organizers before and they started pushing the drawer APART over time. With your new cabinets they are probably higher quality than the drawers you have, but just a warning for others.
I love the way you think and I love your kitchen❤ I don’t have a diy brain but I do have an organizing brain, I love organizing! Thanks for all the links !
Thank you so much!
This was so helpful and appreciated! Stunning space for sure, even that pitiful fridge. 😉 I love the potato bin and the silicon bands for glasses! Clever clever clever. ❤❤❤❤
So glad it was helpful!
I ❤❤❤❤❤❤ your kitchen!! New subscriber 😊
Yay! Thank you! Glad to have you here.
Great kitchen organizing solutions. Thanks for providing the links. I love your kitchen!
Thanks so much! 😊
Well done ma'am
Thank you!
Love your common-sense approach. Don’t have to spend lots of money to have a beautiful, organized kitchen.
Yes! Thank you!
My greatest eyesore is drip drying my hand washed dishes that don’t go in the dishwasher. Any suggestions, Sarah? Love your garage cabinet for the microwave, coffee maker, and toaster!
Thank you so much! Do you have a double basin sink? That’s where I drip dry! Otherwise, countertop mat and dry right away is the only solution I can think of. Maybe someone else will have a good idea!
@@GraceInMySpace I have a double stainless steel sink. I’m always using both sides, so putting a drainer in one isn’t an option for us.
Love your kitchen design ❤
Thank you! 😊
Might wanna add some little felt tabs to the bottoms of your pantry bins, then they won't scratch the shelves as you slide them in and out.
I think the fridge looks fine, its not an eyesore, so not sure why people get so upset over nothing, especially as its not their house😅Thank you for the detailed kitchen tour, I quite enjoyed that😊 and great D/washer etc tips, very helpful🙏
So glad it was helpful!
Hahaha pity? 😂 oi! I'd love your kitchen. We've still got our 1960s kitchen 😅 love your kitchen and fridge! I also agree it's smart not to have gotten the panel fridge. When we get to do ours (many moons from now 😅) I'm just doing a normal fridge
Thanks for sharing your experience!
Hi Sarah, would love your thoughts….where do you put all your kid’s papers, family calendar, photos, art projects, etc.? My family’s are decorated all over my kitchen but need a home after I renovate. 🤔
No good system for me yet! I usually leave a pile until I’m ready to deal with it 😉
Love this video. It’s real!
Thanks!
Dear Sarah🌸
This was *incredibly* helpful!!Especially for those who are renovating or working with a custom design/cabinet layout.
What is the width of your two 20” deep wall cabinets to the left of the fridge? (I’m working on trying to solve a storage situation with a similar idea…and yours are BEAUTIFUL)
Thank you so much! God bless you!!❤💕🙏
Glad it was helpful! The cabinets are 25.5” wide.
Beautiful! Love it!
Thank you! 😊
I loved this video. Give me some great information.
Glad it was helpful!
Where did you find the rails for your floating shelves? I love that, its definitely unique but practical. Love this kitchen!
The rail was ordered by our cabinet maker. But you can just Google gallery rail for lots of options! Etsy has some great ones.
Great tips ❤
Thanks!
I am pretty sure you had a beautiful “peperomia hope” plant in your last kitchen. I sure hope you didn’t loose it with your move. I absolutely love your content and look forward to every video you put out. Did you know that when you get a new kitchen you gain weight(at least I was told that when I got my new kitchen)Ha Ha!
Hahaha that sounds like a problem 🤣
When I purchased my latest refrigerator I quickly encountered the problem of food getting lost in refrigerator so I bought clear containers to hold the condiments. My old one didn’t have the depth of my new one. Now my refrigerator sticks out a few inches more and I hate it because it’s hard to reach from either side of it. 😠
And some people should keep their tactless mouths shut. That fridge is awesome!
22:15 DIY paper towel holder should not have the cut in the blocking on top or your roll/rod will pull out when you pull off a sheet. Better to put the cut facing toward the back of the drawer with a drop down in the center.
We had it with a cut in the top at our last house with no issues. But this would be another great option 👍🏻
Hi, can you send a link for the gallery rods on your floating shelves?
it was ordered by our cabinet maker. But you can just Google gallery rail for lots of options! Etsy has some great ones.
Is that microwave vented in any way? Trying to find a microwave small enough to put in a pantry
Mine is not. It’s just a countertop model.
Beautiful. Planning our kitchen now. How wide are the various cabinets? I currently have a 47" wide upper but it seems most bottoms are 18, 21, & 36, and I am contemplating changing the configuration to house mainly 36"s.
Most of mine are 36 and I love them. My smaller ones are closer to 30”.
Awesome. I was afraid for my pantry wall two sets of 36" wide would be to small. Thank you
Wondering, what are the dimensions of your kitchen overall? Thanks
It’s approximately 22’x13’
Thank you!
You can order custom roll out shelves and install them yourself.
Yep!
If they want to pay for it, then let them. I feel the ones that saying all of the negativity don't even have it in their home. I love the refrigerator. I chose to show my own because that is what I want. So, do what you and your husband want to do, the style you choose and keep going. Pity on the negative ones and great job for what you guys want in your home. SMH!
Thank you so much!
A pity? 🤦🏼♀️ The commentor finds that beautiful, stainless refrigerator, located in your newly renovated kitchen, a pity?? Based on that, he or she will probably think the fact that my Mom lived in a home for 18 years without any refrigerator at all - a down right tragedy! Obviously, people had electricity when they moved to their farm in 1932, but Traverse City didn’t run the electrical lines down the peninsula to where their farm was until well after my Grandpa sold that farm. It was a catastrophe, I tell you!
