Keep doing what you are doing. When I was your age I was making lots of money, and spending lots of money. I always figured I would out earn my spending. Myself and a partner were building spec houses and our company was highly leveraged. When 2008 hit and the market crumbled, we got stuck with a few million dollars of unsold spec houses. It pretty much wiped me out. Now I live a lifestyle more like yours. I have never completely recovered, but I live on less than I make, refuse to borrow money, and am also happier. Economic cycles are always going to happen, and they don't always work in your favor. You just have to keep the odds in your favor. On a side note... my grandmother, who never earned more than minimum wage in her lifetime but worked multiple jobs, saved pennies, had a paid for house, owed nobody a nickel, and died at 90 with $270k in the bank.
Wow, great looking place! Yes, for sure, do some videos on this. Very good strategy to living, too. The old make hay while the sun is shining idea. Most younger people don't take that approach, and end up working harder and longer than they could have when they get older - . Money can't buy happiness, but it sure can buy you comfort and security.
Well said John, happy to see you in the comments. Your hay and sun comment is dead on and one that I think of frequently. A lot of people ignorantly assume everything is going to be ok and never take precautions for difficult times that may be in their future. When those times hit, they are knocked off course and many never really recover while a person who did take precautions is much more able to handle bumps both mentally and financially. I guess that's the long winded version of your proverb.....Good to hear from you.
The Homestead Craftsman. Have you read early retirement extreme by Jacob Lund Fisker? Not a great title for the idea it holds, but suspect the book might really speak to you.
No I haven't but I've read/listened to a lot of stuff. A lot of it is just common sense bundled up in an inspirational story. With that said, I really like that stuff as long as it is available in audio.....I don't have time/patience to read! Thanks for the suggestion.
The Homestead Craftsman He's done quite a few interviews following his book - this podcast is quite a good one: permies.com/mobile/t/24904/Podcast-Early-Retirement-Extreme?foo=a
Being Debt free is a wonderful thing. My wife and I went through Financial Peace University starting January 1st 2015 and we got debt free and had bought our first house with cash by the end of the year. Not having to pay interest enables you to do great things! Loved the video, Thanks!
Nicely done, in my case, having the cash and making the deal also got such a good price that it didn't tap us out. That combined with no payment has been a major advantage for us vs. others who have mortgages. Not everyone can or wants to go the same route, but for our personalities and ideas for the future it felt like the only option! Thanks for watching.
I agree with some others that you should do a series of the remodel of this house. It doesn't have to be some extensive, time consuming series, just once or twice a month maybe to show the progress and future plans. Love the videos, keep 'em coming.
Nice move. I made the move to a farm house with ten acres last year. Its been hard work, but this winter I should turn the corner and start making positive income by summer. Pay as you go, self sustaining, debt free living, what ever you call it, for me, has been a great experience. I wish you luck and I hope you don't mind me poaching some of your ideas.
Son, I'm just simply proud of you! You're intelligent, endlessly creative, and self disciplined. There's no end to what you're going to accomplish in this awesome life we're given. Thanks for being such a good example by your life and such a good teacher in all the things you share in your vids. Nothing but love here for you and your precious wife.
Thanks, but I've got room for improvement. Videos like this make me seem a little sharper than I am. Self Discipline in some different areas is where I could improve. But I appreciate your comment. Sometimes my own videos make me realize I need to get on the ball a little better, the comments on this one really hit on that for me. Thanks.
I love that you and your wife have your priorities straight, always thinking about your long-range goals, while making the most of the present. Thanks for sharing how you can have a high quality of life without going into debt. I think what's key with you is that you don't live to try to impress others--you just want to be HAPPY, and are willing to share with others your personal path to creating a fulfilling life.
It's amazing how much peoples lives are steered by how they feel about the way others perceive them......bad for them, good for people with things to sell!
It is a pleasure to see someone your age so grounded and authentic. You and your wife are wise beyond your years. Would love to see what happens with this wonderful old farm house. Please more videos about this property!
you are doing everything the right way. don't let jealous people tell you any different. love your videos. keep up the good work and may the universe bless you!
As I have seen on You Tube the ( fixer uppers), I have learned a lot and from guys and women doing their own homes and I watch yours as well. The small house project was one that caught my eye with your channel. Yes, do videos on the face lift of this house, we all get some thing out of it. You, just like every one else, has a way of doing things that some of us find really nice way to approach things. You give us great ideas and simpler ways of doing things. Thank You. Keep the videos coming.
Will do, got more coming up. If you haven't seen it, I did a video getting to work inside the house taking out a wall. It's one of the latest videos on my channel.
It's so good to see some other guys my age understand the power of interest. I'm 30 and my wife and I live 100% debt free, including mortgage. We both work from home and we don't make a whole lot, but we get to live the lifestyle that we love. Looking forward to the videos on the house!
Great video!! My husband and I are working on our mountain of debt. We made a lot of mistakes and were very much living above our means. My husband makes very good money but the more money he makes, the more he wants to spend. We're getting to the point where all we care about is paying off the debt and finally buying our forever home. You're very much right about the decision to get rid of the stuff you just don't need. It's a very hard one to make! I would love more videos like this and I'm super excited to see the process and results in fixing up that house. It has a ton of potential!
Thank you for sharing your situation. It's a very common story of the more people make the less money they have. The same amount of money redirected toward wealth growth has so much potential. Sounds like you both have made that decision and are on the way. Thanks again, I appreciate your comment and viewership.
Love the thought process you have about living within your means it keeps life simple and relatively stress free, BRAVO. I enjoy this type of video series please continue with it! Thank you
Thanks, simple-ish yes, stress free.......that's not in my make up, and I swear each house I buy takes at least a year off my life worrying about the deal not going through! But all this is to move me in a direction to where I don't have to worry so much. Glad you enjoyed the video.
We just finished our first renovation. I'd enjoy hearing how you decide where to focus your energy first, second, so on. How do you plan out a renovation. And looking back it's always interesting to reevaluate those decisions. Thanks for being open and vulnerable! It's refreshing.
In short I do the major stuff first as you rip things apart, structural changes. A lot of times, at least the stuff I have done, problems keep popping up as you go, so it's hard to plan it out all the way. I'll talk more about this stuff in the future.
Good for you, I hear so many sob stories about debt that it is nice to hear someone of your age being responsible. I see lots of people that think that the state owes them a living or milks the various benefits for as much as they can get, it is a real pleasure to watch your videos and be taken along with your achievements. I wish their were more like you.
Agreed, I rented a house to a woman who made more money than me from being different government "programs" and I own several houses, make and sell furniture, write books, sell furniture plans, etc. All she has to do is stay home and this was not one of those sad examples that get talked about that are 1 in a 1000. This is just another person taking advantage of the situation and people working hard paying taxes. Whoa, you almost got me going there!
Congratulations on your new project. All I can say is I did what you are doing about 20 years ago and when I got into my late forty's I did not have to work anymore. I am 56 now and continue to work but just on what I want to do. My goal was always financial independence. I love this type of video and hope you inspire many viewers to be debt free and go for their dreams it is doable. Thanks for the vid. Take care. Dave
Thanks Dave, people need to hear examples like yours.......but 56 seems so far to someone who thinks next week is a long ways away. Consideration of your future and how what you do today will affect it is something a lot more people need to think about. Thanks again.
Congrats on the new place!!! Would love to see videos of how you transform the place!! Thanks for tid bit of money responsibilities. It's all about living within your means.
Good for you! Looks like a great place to raise a family if you and your wife are so blessed. Looking forward to watch the remodel. I was a remodeling contractor for almost 40 years so I enjoy seeing how others meet the obvious challenges.
Great video and I think you are right on the money with your chosen lifestyle. Lucky for you, too, that you found a wife who shares your views! If more people could focus on their actual "needs" and less on their "wants" they would be much happier and in better financial situations. Also in line with your video, spending money on things that will make you more money is, to me, "investing".... not just "spending" the money! One of the best aspects of all of this is that you and your wife are doing this at a young age. Looks good for the happiness of your retirement years! Keep up the good work and I really enjoy all of your videos: furniture building, home repair, marketing, etc... they're all good!
Thank you for sharing. Please show us how you develop the house and the changes you make. It looks like a beautiful setting. Hard to believe that there are deals to be had of that value.
Amen brother. You are on the right track to financial independence and building a life of confidence and security for your family. It is reassuring to see that there are young guys like you who understand what the important things in life are. You community and neighbors are lucky to have you. Keep up the good work
this is a great message that more people need to hear! I've been watching your videos for awhile and I really enjoy watching both your builds and these more vblog style videos so keep it up! take care brother, Kyle
I'm glad you subscribe to this type of planning for your life. I am also debt free and there's nothing like it. I always thought you were a pretty wise person.
Good video. I too am living debt free. It took me a while but I got there. Your furniture needs to be showcased so more people see the work you do. Best wishes and may God bless you.
They never do, it's more to point out that people get awkward at the first mention of money when they should be open to the conversation. It's not always the topic you want to jam into every conversation, but in my opinion it needs to be a more understood topic
The Homestead Craftsman in a lot of cases people just starting out could probably benefit most from a more " financial " based conversation....some people have the dream of fixing up a house or buying property, completely forgetting or being blind to all the hidden costs involved. I know I initially started watching you channel for the woodworking, but find myself more intrigued to your lifestyle and the choices you've made in living debt free, and how I can implement some changes in my own life...Thanks for all you do! :)
JimiJimi1000 Thanks, I do plan on doing more on the topic, but don't want to get too far away from what I'm doing. A lot of channels start out pure, just showing something cool and then slowly turn into the person sitting around talking. My goal with the channel is for it to be a library of how to videos that will no go "out of date". This sounds like I'm full of myself, but I think it's best to lead by example, then you don't look like your just talking BS. I will be making more videos like this but I dont want to get to Vloggy with my channel. I'm not a fan of that style video. I think a lot of it is a little misleading. When you make a video, you hold all the cards, you can say and show what you want and leave out any details you want. I'm hoping to show and talk about things in a raw way and not let ego cloud the talk. A lot of channels are based on the "Host" make themselves "look" as cool as possible and that leads to exaggeration. My hope is to give people something to gauge where they are in a realistic way that won't make them feel bummed or that their goals are not possible. That's why I don't care to admit that I wear good will pants and drive 20 year old trucks, etc. My simple advice is 3 parts. #1 Lower/eliminate as much spending as possible #2 Make as much money from multiple sources as possible #3 Do something you enjoy so you are motivated to continue. There's a lot more than that, but if you just did that stuff, it would take care of the rest. In addition of course, you need to live a good life to keep yourself and others around you happy. I don't know why I go so long on these comments, but oh well. Hope it is helpful in someway. If anything it helps me work through my own thoughts! Thanks again, I look forward to talking some more with you.
I appreciate that you take time to talk to one of your subscribers, it shows that 1. You know what you're talking about and 2. That you care enough to try and help another person if they need it. Great qualities, which is why I'm a subscriber. Thanks also for the tips by the way! I'm currently making some changes to benefit myself and my family and hope to start my own business doing something I love. Thank you again for doing what you do, and I look for ward to seeing future videos and talking with you some more.
I think the absolute best point you make among many is (greatly paraphrased) stop buying crap you don't need. My wife and I recently moved and I was deeply embarrassed at the amount of crap we had bought. We basically turned our old house into a crap catcher. In the new house we review everything we spend money on, even food. Nice Vid. Thanks.
You are so smart to plan your life this way. There's a group I belong to that has a promise: "You will live within your means, but your means will not define you." So true. When you know who you are, money means so much less. The more self-sufficient I get, the happier. Best of luck to you and your wife.
Sounds good, for me money means kind of a lot but I don't let it control me to live a way that I don't want to. I do sometimes do things for money I wouldn't otherwise do, but not my whole way of living. I instead find money in the things I enjoy, that way It always feels like I'm just doing my hobbies. Thanks.
You remind me of myself at your age. Working full time, part time weekend extra work with no debt. Bought my first house cash, very run down and partly rebuilt it from the money I made at weekends doing boot sales and markets. Now for fun doing woodwork, so it's back to having fun in my shed making bar stools. Enjoy your work on the house, love your back yard.
Wise words and words to live by. Great looking house, remodeling homes like that usually means using alllllll your carpentry skills. So good luck , looking forward to seeing the videos. Thanks for sharing.
blessed you young man we actually doing the same thing bought a house that needs lot of work. wishes that I have this mentality when I was younger. Now am older renovation it's a toll for us as of now we're using generator and solar panels to have electricity. we tried to check-in some electric company to rework control panel charging us enormous amount. I didn't know about temporary pole until saw your video. keep on making video like this...it does help us.
I love your approach to this subject. I wish I had adopted it as a young man. As it stands today, that is a goal that I am striving for. I hope to see some more videos like this from you. Thanks for sharing!
Delighted to see this vid. Really is great to hear people espousing common sense. My wife and I got caught in the trap pre 2006 and are slowly trudging our way to our goals. It means a lot of sacrifice but as we hit each goal it gets us closer to where we want to be. Living in a house we've built on a tiny homestead, with work shops and building our own furniture. Your table and bench vids have really got us thinking. I am a good worker and have been inspired by your past vid. Thank you for the inspiration and excellent vids. Much appreciated.
Very commendable, young man. Understanding that debt is the universal problem, from the top down, today, this is the goal those with a sense of self-responsibility are shooting for. I came from the same debt-based ideology that many are now trying to get away from, and only now in my middle years, with kids in college, am I starting to make the move towards homesteading.
I love your attitude. And I agree with your lifestyle, my family's lifestyle is almost identical. Everything we have is second hand, curb find, or passed down. We rarely ever go out to eat, we grow food, we do renovations rather than hiring, and we live in our means while still putting away to save! It's SO great not to have the stress of debt. And it feels so rewarding to do things yourself, it gives you that huge sense of pride to look at your own work and say "yeah, I did that". My husband does a lot of work on the side to bring in extra cash, and through every one of my pregnancies (and current!) I've been hard at work on renovations along with him. I love our life and am so glad to hear were not the only ones who live that way. Would love to see more of your house and the work you put into it!! So happy for you!!
Enjoyed the video. What a wonderful thing it is to have a spouse with shared goals. It takes a special skill in not getting indebted with all the fluff we have been told we need.
You definitely have your head in the right place. This house seems to be in great condition. As you were walking around inside of it there seemed to be very little give to the floor and the floors are beautiful. I would love to see videos of working on this house.
The phrase "Freedom isn't free" doesn't only apply to our liberty. Financial freedom many times also requires sacrifice and the removal of "consumables" from our diet, so to speak. There is an unmeasureable value in being able to live debt free on a lower income than to be shackled with the golden handcuffs that materialism requires. Great video!
Love this house!! You made a wise decision in my opinion. That place fixed up would definitely have a high value with the included land in the city. I just bought a farm house that looks similar to this one in the front. It was built in 1895. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it!! Love your channels!!
So I'm a big fan of your craftsmanship as well as your thoughts on money, real estate etc. You have clearly worked hard for every nickel and you will be well served. Real estate is a great way to accumulate wealth and is the only investment that allows for sweat equity. Keep it up man! Would love to see how his house project progresses
congratz on being debt free. The wife and I have been working on that for a couple of years now. We have had some setbacks, but for the most part we stick to our guns and are getting the debt paid off. Wish I had learned the lesson earlier in my life.
You do good work so I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with this place. I want to see how you settle that bedroom access. You sure come up with some good deals.
I love your videos!! My husband and I live the same type of life style (we married each other debt free, i'm pretty sure that I would have been in major debt by now if I didn't meet my husband, he has showed me that we don't have to "Keep up with the Jones'") Right now our goal is to buy a house (hopefully debt free still), flip it, live in it and then sale or rent it out and just build ourselves up and save to build a home!! I just found your channel today and I am obsessed!! Please make more videos!!
Looks like a great project home in a perfect location. Pay cash for things and avoiding debt is the best way to do things. You demonstrate wisdom in your actions and your plans for the future. Wish you the best of success.
I don't think paying just cash is really necessary but do not use credit, unless you absolutely must. Of course, that may already be an indication that you haven't really configured your personal economy to withhold those sudden expenses. I know, I haven't and I should pay more attention to that.
Cash isn't necessary only physical paper money. You say don't use credit, well there's only two ways to pay cash or credit. Using your debit card is still cash because those are funds you have earned and are readily available.
Like I said, there is some debt that isn't bad, but that doesn't make it good in my mind. Unless you buy cash, your buying credit (in some way or another) Basically my wife and I have very little, in the scheme of things, monthly expenses. My insurance, power, water, phone bill, internet, food and gas. She works nearby and I work from home so gas is minimal, our phones are the cheapest possible, minimal insurance but we stay healthy, our cars are paid for, our house is paid for, our house is small so doesn't use a lot of electric. That combined with not going and spending excess money on things we don't need, our incomes exceed out outgoing money so it piles up slowly. My wife has a normal job with monthly income but I do a variety of things. With more than half of my income being passive at this point. But it all began at ground zero, making tables and putting the money to work.
So good to see young people "getting this concept" early in life. Skies the limit for someone who is willing to work hard and together as a team. Remember these great times together they will bring you a smile when you are older and look back on the "younger times in your lives. Wish you both much success. Love watching your videos. This house could be amazing fixed up right and sounds like a great and convenient location. Might be the keeper ? :)
You offer your viewers, particularly wood workers hoping to monetize their hobby, some excellent advice. But as an old man, former real estate broker and wood worker, this video got me excited. I hope to be able to watch you take that old farm house and make it shine; also hope you make a lot of money for your efforts. I admire your style and frankness.
very cool to see someone as young as me saving money and flipping house's. I'm very new to it also but I really like it, I'm on my 6th flip right now and I've been doing it for almost two years now. really excited to see the end result with your new house. would really like to chat sometime and share ideas. great video
I have no doubts that you could turn the old farmhouse into a bright, warm home for you and your wife. There is ample room for a massive workshop with lots of storage. I look forward to seeing many projects.
We'll see, my guess is we won't personally live in it and will instead fix and sell it. It is cool, but not what I wan't personally. My goal is to have a house with a lot of land attached to it and a ways away from other people. But it will make a great house for who ever ends up with it.
I, like many others I know am up to my eyeballs in debt. I work hard for the money I earn but I spend it like an idiot. It is so easy these days to get sucked into the " we can finance" trap. I am slowly crawling out, I bought my last vehicle with cash after financing many previous etc etc. The biggest thing that is helping me is NOT asking the question can I afford the payments but rather asking HOW MUCH WOULD I PAY FOR THIS IN CASH, it has put alot of things in perspective to be sure. I still cannot believe the amount of money people are paying for vehicles these days, 60000-80000 dollars for a pickup and a lot of people dont even own anything to tow with it. I think it is a serious issue with society today, like you were saying the interest on these longer term loans be it a vehicle, travel trailer, boat, tools etc the actual price you end up paying is staggering. Thanks for the good vid, I really like you down to earth approach and sharing your thought process !
"Always spend money for things that will make you more money in the future. Eventually it will turn into something-even if its slow" ---The Homestead Craftsman (My favorite quote out of this and very reassuring)
Glad you got something out of the video, most of it is just common basic stuff that has been beaten back by high standards. Human nature is tough to fight.
I am trying to do what you do so would be extremely interested in seeing all aspects of the houses and furniture builds. I have a handyman business n make furniture in spare time and looking at houses/flats to do up n sell so keep up the good work and keep doing what you love doing.
I was brought to your channel while looking for kitchen Island ideas. Yes, please keep up with this type of video. I enjoy these stories. I would be interested in how things progress. We bought our house 2 years ago. Luckily we did not have to to do anything. The yard needs work but that is just about it. I have a two story detached insulated heated garage. So, I am building my workshop. After 20 + years in the military and moving around every 4 years. I finally get to do it. The upstairs to the garage is not done. So, I do have work there. I consider a personal challenge. Please keep up what you are doing you have a new subscriber and I hit the bell so I know when something new hits. This is Will and I am from Akron Ohio....
Great video! Just discovered your channel and I really appreciate your honesty, how you explain things and fully agree with your financial viewpoint. Keep up the great work!
its so cool to see someone younger that has a great way to look at life i love to see it -- when i was younger i made allot of money mistakes i am now about 3/4 of the way to what you have now financial freedom -- i am a huge fan of videos where people are fixing up old houses i sure hope you do videos on it i watched all your videos of the last house would love to see more. i am looking to do the same in the future i have allot of houses around me that are cheap to buy i am so close
Good for you, not having any debt looming over you is like increasing your income many times in some peoples case, imagine all that money redirect to a good cause. Keep on keeping on.
You know, some people will say you've been lucky. A man who I highly respect once told me, " the harder I work the luckier I get ". I like the video. Keep up the great work.
I wish I could get you to come look at my grandfather's old house and hear some ideas you'd get for fixing it up by looking at it. I think it was built in the 40s. It's been maintained, but empty for the last 20+ years, and it's got some really neat quirks to it.
Steve King thank you for the comments. its good for people to hear.
John Heisz money can buy someone to install the plumbing for your heating, which is the same as happiness. 😄

You should do a series on fixing up the house!
I'll do as much as I can
@@thehomesteadcraftsman8975 Please finish the $9,000 first
I agree with some others that you should do a series of the remodel of this house. It doesn't have to be some extensive, time consuming series, just once or twice a month maybe to show the progress and future plans. Love the videos, keep 'em coming.
That's the plan.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I enjoy not only your craftsmanship, but your outlook on life. You have wisdom beyond your years.
Thumbs way up! You are definitely on the right track. Very inspiring. All the best to you in your new place.
Thanks
Thanks.
You are a very wise man. God has truly blessed you. You're idea to make a series of videos on this house is great!
Very nice purchase. I look forward to watching the repairs and modifications to this property.
Thank you
It is a pleasure to see someone your age so grounded and authentic. You and your wife are wise beyond your years. Would love to see what happens with this wonderful old farm house. Please more videos about this property!
Thanks.
I'm also for seeing what you can do to fix up this house. i enjoyed seeing what you did with the other property. Congratulations on the new place!
Very cool! Looking forward to seeing what you do with the place. Lots of potential
Great video I would love to see you make a video series on you fixing up this house from start to finish
Great fun. Thanks for the tour. Being out of debt has been a blessing we have had.
Congratulations!
you are doing everything the right way. don't let jealous people tell you any different. love your videos. keep up the good work and may the universe bless you!
Thank you Gary
Love to watch you turn these homes into such nice homes. I am very proud of you two and your goals.
Thanks
Yes, please keep sharing advice for life as well as showing your craftsmanship.
Thanks for watching.
@John Fithian-Franks. My thoughts exactly!
Love the house! I am excited to see what you do with it!
Thank you
Congratulations on your new project.
Thanks, will do
Good for you!
Well done and looking forward to more videos on how you are progressing especially so on this house. Thanks for the video.
Thanks
This is pretty awesome! I definitely hope to see this house on the Homemade Home channel. Keep up the good work and keep living the dream!
Thanks Daniel
Thank you for sharing. Please show us how you develop the house and the changes you make. It looks like a beautiful setting. Hard to believe that there are deals to be had of that value.
Love your house renovations! I really enjoyed the current Homestead Home videos and would love to see these in the future.
Amen brother. You are on the right track to financial independence and building a life of confidence and security for your family. It is reassuring to see that there are young guys like you who understand what the important things in life are. You community and neighbors are lucky to have you. Keep up the good work
Thank you.
Love watching you work. Such a pleasure; there is a sincerity I love, Thank you.
this is a great message that more people need to hear! I've been watching your videos for awhile and I really enjoy watching both your builds and these more vblog style videos so keep it up! take care brother, Kyle
Thanks Kyle.
I'm glad you subscribe to this type of planning for your life. I am also debt free and there's nothing like it. I always thought you were a pretty wise person.
Thank you
Very awesome lifestyle! You are an amazing artist and an old soul- far wiser than your years. Thank you for sharing your journey.
Definitely a great motivation to see your video. It's a great ideas and my husband and I are ready to find a house we can fix up.
You are correct. - I don't know you. That said, I do know that your parents are proud of you and so am I.
You are so right! I wish more people our age understood that!
Good video. I too am living debt free. It took me a while but I got there. Your furniture needs to be showcased so more people see the work you do. Best wishes and may God bless you.
You're an inspiration! Never let the negative comments get you down. Can't wait for the new series on this house!
Thanks.
I would enjoy watching you bring the house back to life.
Stay tuned!
Awesome, keep them coming! I'm all with you on the debt free living. Love the series. Cheers and thanks!
It's very believable that someone with your skills and work ethic is where you are at. No need to explain yourself!
Good to hear, thanks.
Wise words and words to live by. Great looking house, remodeling homes like that usually means using alllllll your carpentry skills. So good luck , looking forward to seeing the videos. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks
blessed you young man we actually doing the same thing bought a house that needs lot of work. wishes that I have this mentality when I was younger.
Thank you, good luck
Delighted to see this vid. Really is great to hear people espousing common sense. My wife and I got caught in the trap pre 2006 and are slowly trudging our way to our goals. It means a lot of sacrifice but as we hit each goal it gets us closer to where we want to be. Living in a house we've built on a tiny homestead, with work shops and building our own furniture. Your table and bench vids have really got us thinking. I am a good worker and have been inspired by your past vid. Thank you for the inspiration and excellent vids. Much appreciated.
thank you
Very commendable, young man. Understanding that debt is the universal problem, from the top down, today, this is the goal those with a sense of self-responsibility are shooting for. I came from the same debt-based ideology that many are now trying to get away from, and only now in my middle years, with kids in college, am I starting to make the move towards homesteading.
Cool, good luck.
I admire your work ethic and your no nonsense approach to life. 😃👌👏👏👏👏
Indeed. She is wonderful, better than me for sure. Thanks for watching.
THIS young man will do well. He is VERY TIGHT.. But that is how you get ahead. He is a Hard Worker and SMART.. Go get em Kid...
You definitely have your head in the right place. This house seems to be in great condition. As you were walking around inside of it there seemed to be very little give to the floor and the floors are beautiful. I would love to see videos of working on this house.
I think you are wise beyond your years, I love all your video's, I am new at woodworking, like the videos that you show or build
Thank you
The phrase "Freedom isn't free" doesn't only apply to our liberty.
Financial freedom many times also requires sacrifice and the removal of "consumables" from our diet, so to speak.
There is an unmeasureable value in being able to live debt free on a lower income than to be shackled with the golden handcuffs that materialism requires. Great video!
Nicely said
Saw your 1st home, great job. Hope you share your life goals with the younger guys😃
Thank you
Wow, I'm really excited to see videos on the progress of this house being fixed up! I hope you do plenty of updates!
Thank you, I'm glad your excited......I am too but the amount of work is huge! Thanks for watching.
Love this house!! You made a wise decision in my opinion. That place fixed up would definitely have a high value with the included land in the city. I just bought a farm house that looks similar to this one in the front. It was built in 1895. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it!! Love your channels!!
The first house I bought was built in 1895, it doesn't look like it as it's been crudely built on and vinyl sided. Thanks.
Thank you, keep an eye out on the channel. I'm posting more on the house and I'm sure I'll ramble on about something along the way.
congratz on being debt free. The wife and I have been working on that for a couple of years now. We have had some setbacks, but for the most part we stick to our guns and are getting the debt paid off. Wish I had learned the lesson earlier in my life.
Thanks for sharing, looks like a fun project. Do what you love and are good at.
Awesome video and congrats on the additional house. Very inspirational. Good work
Thanks
Well done, you are certainly on the right track! Please make vids on the house remodel. Love you content!
Thanks, will do.
That is awesome great work i am looking forward to seeing work on the house and i love all your videos so ty for sharing
Your welcome
What a great place: Keep us updated on the progress you make!
Always enjoy your videos and learn so much from them ... would love to see how your work on your new acquisition progresses.
Definitely interested in seeing the progress.
Thank you
You offer your viewers, particularly wood workers hoping to monetize their hobby, some excellent advice. But as an old man, former real estate broker and wood worker, this video got me excited. I hope to be able to watch you take that old farm house and make it shine; also hope you make a lot of money for your efforts. I admire your style and frankness.
Thank you, I hope so too.
very cool to see someone as young as me saving money and flipping house's. I'm very new to it also but I really like it, I'm on my 6th flip right now and I've been doing it for almost two years now. really excited to see the end result with your new house. would really like to chat sometime and share ideas. great video
I say that's moving right along pretty fast. Feel free to email me anytime.
I've been waiting you for a long time now and I really appreciate all of your videos. Thank you
Thank you
I am trying to do what you do so would be extremely interested in seeing all aspects of the houses and furniture builds. I have a handyman business n make furniture in spare time and looking at houses/flats to do up n sell so keep up the good work and keep doing what you love doing.
I totally agree with you and wish I would have been that clever at your age!
My deep respect.
Ha, thanks.
Thank you, I hope you enjoy future videos as well.
Hello,
Great philosophy. Great house - loads of fix ups so we can learn from your wood skills. Best wishes.
Tim
Thank you
Great video! Just discovered your channel and I really appreciate your honesty, how you explain things and fully agree with your financial viewpoint. Keep up the great work!
Meadowmaster thank you
Congratulations on the house. My wife and I are trying to do the same.Certainly do more videos like this
Sounds good, thanks for watching.
its so cool to see someone younger that has a great way to look at life i love to see it -- when i was younger i made allot of money mistakes i am now about 3/4 of the way to what you have now financial freedom -- i am a huge fan of videos where people are fixing up old houses i sure hope you do videos on it i watched all your videos of the last house would love to see more. i am looking to do the same in the future i have allot of houses around me that are cheap to buy i am so close
That man nailed it. I've seen a lot of "un"lucky people that sit around all day.
Please do a series on the house, looks like a great find.
I wish I could get you to come look at my grandfather's old house and hear some ideas you'd get for fixing it up by looking at it. I think it was built in the 40s. It's been maintained, but empty for the last 20+ years, and it's got some really neat quirks to it.
Would love to see videos on you doing that place up!
You are living my dream! And yes, please make videos of the house renovation.
Thanks
Great philosophy on life and the way to live. I like your videos and appreciate them. Thanks
I love this kind of insight. Best of luck to you. Keep up the good work
Thank you
Just found your channel. Great videos and from this one, what a great outlook on life you have 👍👍 Subscribed and will be watching the rest 🙂
