- On October 26th, 1859, during the final stretch of its voyage from Melbourne to Liverpool, the Royal Charter met its tragic fate in the midst of one of the most severe storms to ever strike Britain. The toll in terms of lives lost was staggering, and equally staggering was the value of gold carried by the ship, amounting to $130 million. This fortune, initially discovered in Australia, was subsequently lost to the depths of the sea. Presently, Vince Thurkettle, renowned as a world champion in the field of gold hunting, is driven by a mission: to reclaim the long-lost treasure of the Royal Charter.

The joy of finding a ring or anything that you can discover from a shipwreck, then going to the distant relative to show them something that belonged to a family member is also amazing.
Was the newfound relative given the option to buy the little ring?
Absolutely fabulous adventure!!!
Thanks so much for sharing your treasure! The Southern California high desert sends love!
What an amazing program!
Truly amazing 😊
Gripping. Informative. Touching. Great documentary! Thank you!!!!!
Great video ❤
God bless everyone this New Year 🕛
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !"
Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam ."
Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!"
Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window ? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..."
Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!"
Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky."
Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction."
Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"
Heaven's streets are paved with gold.
And the different levels are of every gemstone solid. Each of the 12 gates to enter the city are each of a carved pearl !!!
Shipwrecks amaze me and I so wish I had become an underwater archioligust.
Or seek God's wisdom like it's gold
Happy Holidays Everyone
Never too late
Amazing storey!
Amazing treasure finds...💙🙏😇🍀
they left out the footage of the guys fighting and breaking their water glasses on each other's heads when he found out he cannot have the ring, hahaha
there is still no proof that this is his ancestors ring. Vince is so charismatic! i hope he finds the proof!
What a wonderful video loved watching every minute of it. Having had 1 ancestor who arrived here in South Australia, then went to the Bendigo goldfields where it is believed he was murdered it was so interesting to watch this. Luckily he had a huge family back in South Australia or I wouldn't be here now, He and his large family came from Thaxted, Essex . Loved this story. Thank you.
🐨
This is my type of treasure hunter!
only to have the government take it all from him.
Another mini series 😜😁😁😁😁
I really enjoyed watching this show I guess up in the ACT yet I have heated of a acco.erdation place on melbern called Fenwick house this family was quite welthy back in the day I find it truly amazing that the Fenwick name has yet again come up in another story from history this family must have done quite well throughout the goldfish times and yet there would be so much more that has not been Toled I wonder what else is to come out in the Future thankyou for creating such a wonderfully story may youall have many adventures to come and just Rembert to KEEP THE DREAMS ALIVE. !!!!
This catastrophe occurred during the Carrington Event of September 1, 1859 which was the worst CME to hit the planet in thousands of years. This solar storm could have possibly triggered the storm that sunk the ship. Too bad humans didn't have better technologies to detect these weather anomalies.
If something like that hit today, it would wipe out the planet.
Mass hysteria, riots, looting, food shortages, gas shortages, ect ect…
wow !
Minus the ending event of sinking! Please
Yes I live in Canada Saskatchewan Regina
The national Park Services in the United States of America is requiring the entire story of this documentary with complete Castles as a inventory of your history please.
It is so sad that the British government is able to claim all of the items that are found. It would have been wonderful if the items that are able to be traced to surviving descendants of those who lost their lives could be returned to the heirs, but there is no chance of the government doing anything like that.
A tourist event of seasonal studies!
Tell the head council member to create vessels and all to recreate the complete passage of the historical studies!
Anyone notice that that Childs' ring resembles a little bug. The opal being the body and the diamond being the head? It's something a child might like to wear if maybe she liked lady bugs or something that child liked.
If he was mauled , then he was raising them to fight. Pit Bulls are the best pets and family dogs. If they maul they were being taught that.
They'd have made white fish bay if they'd have put fifteen more miles behind em.
I can t sleep with your voice…
Sailing delay was due to being at anchor off Gellibrand's Point, awaiting the arrival of the steamer Havilah, from Adelaide
Quite the Needle in the Haystack story, that made me jerk a tear. Ty for sharing
These are dependents of who come to Australia and murdered the rightful owners of the land for gold ... how many died due to these murderers
It's definitely not a child's ring. My ring finger is 3¼ and that ring looks slightly larger than my wedding band, so possibly a size 4.
No hurricanes!
The city of San Antonio TX is the main hub of my investment Branch!
I'm Martin the cowboy from the Unidos caberllos de la Americanas. Master chief of the United Nations council. Latin king of the Americas!
Peace. I am that I am.
Probably several people who successfully returned from the dream of riches purchased lands to homestead.
Makes me wonder about the descendants his family stole it from.
I WouLd love to team up for a few looksies... reach out.. yeah...
Hmm putting in the thumbnail a ship that looks more like 17th century and then it is about a ship from the 1850s.......yeah why not not the Black Pearl from Pirats of the Carabean?
What does it take to be a ship's captain: unwarranted levels of over-confidence, & insane levels of stupidity! He didn't even know the tides of the route into Liverpool 🤨
Just ask the captains of this ship, & the Titanic, just to name two. And innocents pay for it, with their lives.
In finishing, a great tale of tragedy, & Humanitarianism. Cheers.
Reminds me of the titanic
Two types of treasure hunters! Those interested in archeological history! And those that are just greedy bastards!
Lol. He said first class were provided 40 cubic feet... that's approximately a coffin and a half... hopefully he meant square feet...
even then that's still only about the size of a jail cell
@@Teeveepicksures40 cubic feet is not even close to a jail cell man. It's actually closer to a phone booth.
@@curbwhiz2010 re-read my comment. 40 square feet is a jail cell.
but it was private!
What is the burning all about?
if they were identified in part by their jewelry, wouldn't it mean the ring/s the children had were with her.
um, that's what I was thinking...then again it could have been something she wasn't wearing but was in a jewelry box. Maybe it wasn't common for little girls to wear rings, and it was known that this family was into jewelry...?
The size of the ring, also, wasn't necessarily a child's; by today's standards, maybe, but back then women were smaller. I have my great grandmother's engagement ring, and it doesn't fit past my 2nd knuckle of my pinkie, so it could have also been a petite woman's ring (my great grandmother was 4'10").
Exactly. That whole relative thing was just a bit of TV drama. Poor old guy probably wasn't even told they were using him.
If Edward Bennett was a late arrival,HIS NAME STILL SHOULD BE ON THE MANIFEST,by law and International treaty, UNLESS HE OR SOMEONE ELSE, were trying to hide something! This man should get a "finders fee" and a "salvage fee" from His majestys' government.
God intend for man to have money of any kind life is based on our individual needs and God will provide that
Soooo…. Did you give him the ring ?
Mother nature had a different plan and it didn't matter if you payed 16 ginny or 75 steerage or first class they all ended up on the bottom
Are these coins for sale? I would like to purchase 5. Not interested in pristine graded types. These are for a costume coin purse at renaissance fair far traveler. Much better than internet purchased fakes!!
Edward could have been a part of the crew. Maybe?
what if someone stole Edward's snuff box before they sailed?
Someone's math is horrendous!
That ship could not carry 82 MILLION pounds of gold in addition to everything else.
That is 41,000 TONS!
Sounds like the math of a politician trying to balance his budget.
James Russell had 7 MILLION POUNDS all by himself!!!????
Who edited this? You checked the people making these comments.
Then there wouldn't be world wide hunger
Yah, but do the relatives gett a piece of the treasure that's their back too.
The world is made of money, people seek because they cannot mine GOLD like their ancestors.
People are STUCK IN SOCIAL MONITARY limits.
Just like those TENTS, people are dying STILL because of diseases
God gold treasure seekers are living to FULL FILL the dreams of the people who struggled lost at SEA foor their FUTURE heirs & relatives.
These were people who INTENTIONS were led by that VISION.😊
Imagine a world that was not based on MONEY
The root of all evil
If it wasn’t based in money. it would be trade. Either way an exchange in goods.
This is something I have also thought of
A world based on…. DEEZ NUTS!!!!bahahhahahahha
I’d never buy that
We're creating a global national Park Services!
They need metal detectors and a dredge and sluice box
So… people can go broke diving for treasure and whenever they do manage to find something it’s not theirs to keep because it belongs to the king or queen? That’s horseshit
Imagine a world where everything on earth and beneath belongs to everyone...That's the right way to divide everything. Gold, diamonds, oil, water, land everything created by God is not for few but for everyone
No queens or kings-greedy, lazy bastards...
Imagine a world that was not based on money😅😂😢😊😊❤🎉❤🎉😊
Notice that a woman found gold first? Hmm.😂
Probably a gold digger
horrible program
