  • "The Suite" by Soviet-Russian composer and pianist Dmitri Shostakovich for "Jazz Orchestra No.2" was written in 1938 for the State Jazz Orchestra of Victor Knushevitsky. It premiered in Moscow on the 28th of November, 1938.
This rendition is performed by the Royal Classical Orchestra of New Zealand as a tribute to the original master recording. The Royal Classical Orchestra, though not widely know, stands as a hidden gem in the realm of classical music production. The orchestra is comprised of a number of talented and professionally trained musicians from all different walks of life. We are a collective that does not discriminate and believes that music should be enjoyed by all. Whether through consumption or creation, music is a soul-healing liberty and should be encouraged, not hidden.

We all speak different languages and come from different lands but the fact that this song has no words means we can all enjoy it and instead of being American or polish we are all human for 3 minutes and 50 seconds
Finally a world without borders and a world of art

"Waltz No. 2" by Dmitri Shostakovich was composed in the late 1950s as part of the "Suite for Variety Orchestra," not in 1938. The common misconception arises because the original scores of the "Jazz Suite No. 2" from 1938 were lost during World War II, leading to confusion between the two works.
