Pops 53 on its second cropped frame from a Grand Wagoneer with Dana 44’s 3:31’s and it’s always been solid except for frame rot. First was cropped in 85. Had over 43 years. Just grabbed one myself 59 with the super hurricane.
Interesting that the passenger side inner fender liner required such a large cut out for the spring and shock mount and the drivers side had almost none? Are they that different assuming the body is centered on the frame?
Good question sorry i didn’t explain it more in the video. The passenger liner has a bump facing outward (not really sure why) and the drivers didn’t do it had to be cut out and we ended up just welding in a flat piece to match the driver side. So yes they both are different
@@Rustomod I forgot about that. I'll look at mine. Considering a similar project with an LJ frame and the Cummins 2.8R. Great videos. you certainly upped the challenge using a TDI FWD engine! Looking forward to the rest of the story!
I'm loving this series. Please tell us the measurements of what you cut out of the rear frame humps. How much lower than the top of the hump is the welded plate? We didn't see a final view of the plate in place. Did you not need to cut the front inner fender on the driver's side to clear the strut tower? So far, I am believing I could lead my more skillful friends to watch these videos and make such a swap happen. In South Alabama, people still hold the Wrangler TJs dear, and a donor is not cheap. Can you list any other chassis that would be similar? Thanks. Looking forward to Friday and the next video.

In a few videos when we weld everything up I’ll explain all that. A lot of guys will use yj frames also. Thanks for watching!
I like the shorter videos at times. How many cab mounts are there?
The Willy’s uses 8 I believe the wrangler uses 6 we will go over cab mounts in a later episode.
Love your work 👍
Thanks !
