The Diavel V4 definitely feels like a step up when it comes to performance and handling but I'm not sold on the looks or price vs the previous 1260 generation. Let me know which one you guys prefer in the comments below and don't forget we are giving away three motorcycles! www.patreon.com/campisicustoms
Test rode a Diavel V4. Torque and power is there, but there's loads of negatives.. Way too much plastic, even more than a fully faired sports bike.. The riding position is just odd. Ergos are upright but strange. Foot controls 👎🏼 Right foot kept tapping the brake. Forward foot controls could work. My hands kept slipping off the end of the grips. Not sure why, handle bars not wide enough? And it's just a plain ugly bike..
The V4 looks amazing from every angle aside from the front. That is where the looks are an issue. Its bulbious and bubbly. Looks like it is an overinflated motorcycle shaped balloon or something. The tail light is amazing, the rear and side views are amazing, but that front! The vents look like droopy horn instruments and it has that were sideways V shaped fairing underneath them. While the 1260 generation is sharp like a katana blade. Futuristic hard edges. The vents are strong and hard, the fairing underneath has the integrated turn signal (way better) and again contributes to the hard razor edge look at the front.
Just bought one a few months ago. Have a few sport bikes as well. The Diavel V4 fits in as a great sport cruiser. Akra exhaust and map, barend mirrors and a small windscreen. Also added the luggage for short trips. I think the XDiavel S looks the best but like you said, the V4 does everything very good. Just not great. But the comfort and convenience of just getting on and having alot of fun makes up for the small shortcomings. Looking forward to your build. Cheers
G’day guys just watched your latest video on the new bike. Yes I agree on the comments that you made that the exhaust has been changed to the new exhaust to make better sounds better performance but they most important awareness for public parts. I still like the old bike, it has it better, atmosphere look about it. You guys have a lovely day lovely week. Can’t wait to your next video
I love bikes and i love (ms. Teens) !! I've been watching you guys since your condo in the OC condo days !! congrats on the longevity on both your relationship and your channel! keep it going!
You already know my opinion. Ever since you bought your dad his Diavel I've wanted a 1260S since then. And then you got the Lamborghini Edition and I love that paint scheme! It looks fantastic! And I've been obsessed with them ever since. Still have yet to ride one though. Yes, the tech on the V4 is better. But I still choose the 1260
From what you're saying about the build Jaret, I think it's gonna be awesome dude! I haven't seen Mani's Diavel build on Moto Million, but I think I'll mosey on over and see the exhaust video. I want to see the flames and look of it on both sides. Dude, you're gonna make the giveaway bike super wicked😂
I've had the last three Diavel models. I like the V4 best. Although the 1260s was torquier. But a tune will fix that. At first I preferred the 1260 on looks now the V4 has grown on me (including the stock exhaust. I love the look of it.). Great vid!
The V4 definitely has its perks over the 1260 (nice dash with turn by turn Nav, smoother, lighter) but at 27k + fees and tax they priced it a bit high for not even being an S model, but that's the way of the world. After the V4 was unveiled, I decided on a '20 1260s last year with only 800 miles and termi already installed for $17k from Ducati Miami and had it shipped to me. I see some for a little less now. Can't beat the deep throaty sound! 😁 Looking forward to the build.
one thing I like about the Diavel V4 is it looks like a big, bulky brother of a Ducati monster, or a streetfighter, which is another bike I really like. the 1260s is really cool, but it doesn't have that strong, muscle vibe for me.
Think the V4 is an amazing engine, but for me the character of the 1260 suits the bike better! Interested to see what I think when you guys have tweaked it!👍
@@JaretCampisi the work you guys do to those bikes is second to none so I have no doubt I’ll be searching for used ones when complete! Looking forward to seeing the results over here in Yorkshire!👍
Love the video and bikes :) you know what other bike you should check out, its the Triumph Rocket 3 TFC its a nice bike for sure and has one of the biggest engines on a bike.
Hey Jaret, to me hands down the 1260 has the styling over the V4, but of course the V4 technology has the edge. We all know the Campisi magic is coming tho....LOLOL
I've always thought the 2 piece seats look better to me than the one piece in my opinion. It seems alot of motorcycle manufacturers are going to the 2 piece seat setup with 2024
That Lamborghini edition is absolutely gorgeous. I've seen it in so many RUclips vids and it never gets old. The older style is definitely better looking too. The fact that there's no Ohlens suspension is disappointing to say the least.
Interested to see what exhaust you use. I have the Termi on mine like Manny. I hope you choose something different from the Akra and Termi just because the majority of V4 owners have them. I want to see someone use the Vandemon, but I don’t think you would choose it because it looks like the sick one.
@@JaretCampisi I think its the best looking. The Akra and Vandemon are nice because they're full systems, but the Termi just looks so clean and sounds amazing.
The same thing happened to me after watching this channel for a couple of years 😂 I got my endorsement a month before my 41st birthday and bought a Honda Rebel 500 as a first bike just to have something easy and forgiving to get comfortable riding. I had no intention of keeping it so I got a Diavel 1260s last year. Depends what type of bike you're after but at 6'3" you'd probably be cramped on a Rebel 500 though. Maybe a Rebel 1100 and start in rain mode for a few rides. Others can probably make better recommendations than myself though. Good luck!
Look to see if there's a basic rider's course near you to get a feel for it and training to get your permit then license. Similar height and I ended up with the Diavel. any 600 lol IM 6'2 and I ride a 1199Tri. It's a bit small(ish) but most sportbikes are made for people 58-5'10 or so... us giants arent comfortable on anything, but a Diavel is definitely a great one. (Not ridden yet just sat on one)

Also what do you mean if Teens can flat foot it… She might just be a tad taller than me then, I got the shorter height seat and I need about 1/4” still (5’2”). I guess I need to update my profile pic now.
I dropped off my Diavel Strada 1198 for service at Santa Barbara Ducati. They told me to take out the exact same black Diavel V4 as yours. When I approached the bike, I assumed that there was a price drop. It looks like a much cheaper, plasticy, black glossy version of the Diavel. Those hideous looking pipes... But beauty is only skin deep..right? I fired it up and headed over San Marcos Pass Rd. Gone are the L-twin power pulses, which are the reason many of us love our demos; and I own three. The V4 is smooth and fast, but has lost the Ducati character. The V4 is a fantastic race engine. But this is supposed to be a power cruiser. If I want a track bike, I have my Monster 1200 R. The busa is a completely different bike...much more uncomfortable riding position. Apart from weight, the handling improved because the rake appears more in line with the Gen 1 Diavel where as the 1260S has a more cruiser rake.
