Hello anyone who may be reading this. This organ was made by my great grandfather, Donald Stinson back in.. I am not even sure, he just use to always tell me about his organs when I was growing up, I remember we went to this organ one time back in 2013 or so. I am just glad seeing how much everyone still enjoys his organs all these years later (:
The songs Chatterbox and Beer Barrel Polka are played on Santa Cruz’s Wurlitzer 165 band organ too. The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk’s Wurlitzer 165 is covered in glass in order to prevent any vandalism as well as not have complaints for being too loud. And yes, this is inside carousel too. The Santa Cruz Looff Carousel has something to do which is why I like it so much. I recommend checking it out if you have the chance to visit the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.
Out of every single Stinson made machine I have listened to in my life, I have to state that this one Don built for the Deasys back in 1987 is my favorite because it sounds incredibly similar to a Wurlitzer 165 in terms of voicing. Did you know the original band organ for the current Griffith Park carousel (besides the former NT in the center), was a Wurlitzer 165 - the last one of its kind to be constructed by the Wurlitzer in addition to being the very last band organ to be shipped from the Wurlitzer factory? That same instrument now resides in Oaks, PA at American Treasure Tour. For some reason just like the current Stinson organ, the 165 is also disguised with the facade of a Wurlitzer 157. You can tell Kevin this comment I said about the current GP band organ and let me know his response.

How is he doing?
@@wurly164 91 Years old, still drinkin' pepsi and going out to the shop every now and then, pretty well I'd say!
@@MultiCatRain That's great.
Your Great grandpa kept band organs alive. He is a great man. He even helped restore Santa cruz’s ruth
Just wish Jerry Betts were still alive to see all good work that Don has done for all the once-neglected and run-down band organs across the globe!
One of Mr. Stinson's very best friends, Jerry Betts (my one-time next door neighbor) would have LOVED this video!! Thanks for posting this gem!
Few things are as enjoyable to me as a well-functioning, well-tuned band organ. Wonderful!

Unusual arrangement of "Ciribiribin"
4:36 Poor cherub looks catatonic! But seriously, this is an amazing band organ. I really like its voicing!

This Stinson’s got a great sound. Nice and resonant and appropriate to its machine and its shelter. And it’s in great shape right now 🎉
@@BenSchwartz Slowly but surely it may even be in the shape it was when it was first installed at the carousel in 1987.
Oh my goodness I never knew my great grandfather still had this many people still listening and loving his organs all these years later😭
