- Islander have made a career out of fiercely waving the flag of a nu metal revival while maintaining punk rock cred and sensibility, but navigating the music industry can get messy and no band is exempt from rock and roll regret.
In this APTV exclusive, frontman Mikey Carvajal opens up about some of Islander's missteps, from a "revolving door" lineup to high-fiving their way onto the APMAs red carpet. Carvajal also gets brutally honest about which music video he wishes people would forget and apologizes for a recent bad gig.

The revolving door of band members kills it for me. What happened with “this new line up was just a summer thing”. The members make the band matter and is the root for the music. I also like the old records too, that’s what got me here in the first place. Bring back JR, Doot and Eric with some more tracks plz
It's not about the lineup it's about the message and the music. JR, Doot, and Eric have all moved on to new things.
