    I discovered this channel a couple of years ago and built my own equipment based on your recommendations (I also work with 8 frames hive bodies). I can't tell how much I've learnt since thanks to you and your teaching oriented way of sharing knowledge.
    Best regards from down south.

    Love your videos, I like seeing someone who takes pride in his work. I seen another guy make the comment "good enough is perfect" but I don't think so. Thank you for sharing your skills.

    After watching this I may remove the stand my extractor has and build this unit. It looks like it works far better. Your instructional video make it look really easy to construct. I love you use of alignment cleats.
    The only things I can see I'd do different would be to make sure I don't have paint where I'm gluing the legs to the base, and I'd probably leave the alignment cleats on the bottom.

    Great video. I'll be making a modification to mine to allow the extractor to tilt forward to allow the last of the honey to drain out without the aide of a long spatula.

    Another great video. I really enjoyed every one of them. Much of the equipment I use is directly made from your instruction. It has also given me the confidence to become creative in making other equipment to better suit my needs.
    It's been a long time since you posted any new material. You have covered the topic well but I miss seeing new videos. When are you coming back? You are missed.

      I thank you for your comments. Although I have a couple of projects on the list, putting together a video takes a lot of work. And other things seem to get in the way, not the least of which is idleness.

    nice work shop! How good does this work when it start rocking? Mine walks on the floor when unbalance. IDK why they put legs on em so short, that a bucket don't fit under em ! OH ITS GOT TO BE BETTER FOR SURE! Thanks for your excellent videos CHEERS

    I am having trouble with the hardware to tie or secure this down. I have a Mann lake 3 frame manual. It doesn't have anyplace to put a hold down on the top of the extractor. Any suggestions?

      I have the same issue. If we can get a close up that might help out.

      This calls for some "post consumer engineering"! Maybe an angle bracket bent outwards a bit and secured to the bolts holding the cover on. I am not familiar with the Mann Lake extractor.

    I hope the extractor can run with car battery and stand has a wheel so that we can extract the near to the hive, so it will eliminate another work bringing the frames to another place ...

    • @josephvogel7234
      @josephvogel7234 3 года назад +1

      That would be a mistake in my opinion. All that exposed honey is going to attract a frenzy of robbers. The situation will be unbearable for you and could be catastrophic for your hives. The robbers will clean the hives out too. Please reconsider.

    Does this keep the extractor from walking when your turning

    • @beekeepersworkshop
      @beekeepersworkshop  4 года назад

      Yes and no. If the extractor is badly out of balance, the whole shebang will walk. However, the stand will not tip over while doing so, as may be the case with a metal stand. I use my extractor in a space with a cement floor. If it was a wood floor, I would consider screwing the base of the stand to the floor. That would stop any walking issues. I sometimes will put my foot on the base while just starting up a batch of frames in the extractor. This may help stop any slight walking. Once the frames get part way spun out and the weight is more evenly distributed, the stand generally stops walking around.
