Definitely don't need special tool.. I just did my 2008 T-Rex belt this way except used two zip ties (black probably 1/4" wide), one through one hole, one through another then just turned the crank, belt popped right on and then I just snipped the zip ties off with side cutters and was done.. No damage to the belt and it worked Great !! 👍
Dude. Thanks. Engine in vehicle. Installed the clamp going c-clock so's i could get it off on the rotate to the bottom rather than the top. Worked slicker n shit...✌️
Glad to help. Yea I thought it was pretty slick too when I did it so easily so I thought I just have to make a video and let everyone know how easy it really is.
About to do my 2008 T-Rex belts and hadn't thought of this.. I'm going to try to simplify it one step further and instead of fumbling around with a hose clamp why not just zip tie it ?? It will conform to the pulley even better and then just snip it off I'm thinking.. Well ill know in a little while..🤔
@@sidneyvines7689 Huh... Must have been tiny zip ties.. I ended up using two zip ties (black probably 1/4" wide), then just turned the crank, belt popped right on and then I just snipped the zip ties off with side cutters and was done.. No damage to the belt and it worked great for me.. 👍 Just curious what color were the Zip Ties ?? I saw on "RoadKill" (the zip tie kings lol) one time during there Zip Tie moment, he said always use black zip ties then saying for some reason any other colors don't seem as strong.. So curious if there's truth to that ??
So the only way to install the stretch belt with this method is by pulling the motor out cool bout to fxckin go off an engineer at this point I’ve tried using the tool and it stretches the belt so much that it literally stretched until it snapped and the belt broke so explain to me the science behind this and the ziptie method cause I have tried both and nothing is working
If you need more clearance take the motor mount off and keep a jack with a piece of wood on the oil pan and lower the engine very gently and you’ll have more clearance but you shouldn’t need to do that anyway
My old man said thank you for that and he would’ve never gotten it on without that trick!!!! Thank you!!!!

So step one is to remove the engine?
Is there's an adjuster on this car?

The zip ties break easily...trust me...I broke about 7 of them trying to get this belt on

@@mechanicmikevaal not with this method you haven't.
Smart
Why was this engine out of the vehicle? Confused as to how this helps unless you really only can do this with the engine pulled
Was an engine and accessories swap but either way you should have enough room to do this with engine installed
Try doing it with it in its ❤real state ❤❤❤❤buddy ❤❤❤❤❤use zip ties 😅❤
