I am a pro singer. Mobility challenged, an ex carer and survivor of two suicide attempts. It was this scene in Limelight that convinced me that even though I am a “cripple”, that life was worth fighting for. In spite of tragedy and depression, I’ve not attempted to kill myself after seeing this magnificent film.
I'd say all the more because you can be a shining example. People will say, "Look, there's a cripple living life to the fullest not making excuses. I'm able-bodied, I got even less of an excuse, so I will divulse them cheap excuses one by one and live my life the way I figure I'm meant to live it or else I'll be dying thinking I have wasted it all away"
This film, above all others, is Chaplin's true masterpiece and tour de force. I cried unashamedly while watching it. Few other movies reach this level of poignancy and beauty.
What is there to fight for? Everything! Life itself, isn't that enough? To be lived, suffered, enjoyed! What is there to fight for? Life is a beautiful, magnificent thing, even to a jellyfish. Huh, what is there to fight for? Besides, you - you have your art, your dancing! : I can't dance without legs! : I know a man without arms who can play a scherzo on a violin and does it all with his toes. The trouble is you won't fight! You've given in, continually dwelling on sickness and death. But - there's something just as inevitable as death, and that's life. Life, life, life!
Just because I had a run with cancer or any other ailment from an underlying condition does not make life any less important. If anything, coming through drives me to admire and hunger for life more than ever.
Same! 👊❤ I linked this video to my reply/comments regarding the Tinlicker BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix on the band's RUclips page. Pinned to the top, thanks fellas! One Love!❤

Courage, guts, will, and perseverance.
He was a true master.🎯💎
His character has a point: I have epilepsy and I’m not afraid of living my life!
What wonderful words and predicament of what we take for granted. Great movie! The great Charles Chaplin

Hello from Ukraine
Chaplin looks like Robert Blake and sounds like James Mason.
❤
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Hey, should we colorize that scene yet?
People don't see the wood for the trees.
Chaplin had to marry a 14-year-old pendant girl. Nice guy.
Feel better now ?
She was 18.
