Another trick that works really great. Wash the wig, put some conditioner on it and then put it in a plastic bag and pop it into the microwave. Once its out of the microwave rinse the wig off with some warm water and let it air dry.

The boiling method is not permanent but it does last a long time. I'd say of your hair is that bad then do it once a month.

Human hair. Boiling a synthetic would of made it straight. Cornrow a synthetic wigs in the style direction you want it to go and then dip it. Wait till dry, and then undo/ finger comb it. Look up curly wig restore from glamfam. Watch him cornrow it to look kind of like this one.

Also flat twist will get you spirals . I suggest silicon cream as the conditioner instead. The dipping will put slip on the fibers making it last longer.
