The thing about Stewies position is that if Karrigan jiggled it or slow peeked it Stewie would see his feet by the cart and just either spam him or preaim so the only option was to widepeek that.
wide peeking really depends on the situation , it can help you alot when you know there is only 1 guy holding the position you are coming from just wide peek him etc, its not the same always
Yeah, he says it wrong in the video but you see what he mean't to say in the title. Wide peaking is way to common in CS among players, so he's explaining when you shouldn't, not that you shouldn't wide peak at all. Wide peaking is amazing in certain situations
Wide Peeking is situational, your point makes sense if there's more than 1 and they can trade. If you're taking a 1 on 1 without the possibility of trading I'd say wide swining isn't bad at all especially at lower levels since people aren't as good at tracking.
U can shoulder peek multiple times then wide peek to throw of their aim also why its good to preaim wide instead of close is cuz if u pre aim close to the corner u will have to track and then prob adjust to some1 crouching
Funny thing is I used to hold wide when I used play 1.6 back in the days but over the years in CS GO, I started holding very close angles and only realized that I am holding so close after watching stew's chair placement on tarik's stream
If you are holding a closer angle that people might shift into, it's really nice to hold it real tight - since ull just get that insta hs cuz they are sneaking out in ur xhair, but widepeeking is deffinately situational, if u are on the other side of the guy holding the close angle, just swung on that newbi
this is where your IQ comes into play. You study your opponent in first few rounds and devise a way to counter his play style. Be the most unpredictable to make this useless just as warowl said
Telmen Gt Most players don't think like that. Every single one of your enemies has an individual pattern of how to play in certain situations. You'd have to watch their demos before.
Christian Rupprechter they aren't pros, are they? They don't really have individual playstyle. Even in LE, they are easy to study tho. IF JUST RNG OF THE GAME HAD BEEN ON MY SIDE I WOULD'VE WON. XD
if you peek so close to the corner, the enemy will see at least half of your player model before you can see them, even if it's a very tight peek. you might wanna pick further back from the corner so you can see their player model first.
Wide peeking in a 1v1 only gives your opponent more time to shoot while you are just moving across their screen. therefore it’s pretty much illogical to do it if you know how much you need to peek. I’m not sure people thought this through heh
changed the title though since you guys are right it is situational- i definitely wide peek if i’m not alone, vs awpers holding tight angles and maybe if i’m low HP and not confident about where they are.
1:20 if the ct knows more than 2 have pushed out, why would they peek wide? The ct would shoulder for the guy door and play passive long for another a player to play goose or something
wide peeking against decent players is typically an all-in, and it can work but it's just "high risk / random reward" since you can either just get killed without getting any info beyond "1 guy here" or you can die and see all 5 players which would, at least, be some decent informaysh. i think wide peeking as a default thing is bad but its pretty useful against people holding tight angles
if i know its only one dude i like to jiggle the corner so they move their crosshair closer to the corner and then wide peak so they basically have to flick
Low level players tend to have their crosshair as close to the wall as possible, and since they are probably not that good at flicking, i tend to just wide peek them all the time.
Nait but the point of having the crosshair as close to the wall is so that u kill em before they finish doing the wide peeking (quick reflex required tho)
Nait - Yeah, I learned this soon after playing competitive that I shouldn’t watch close to a corner because I can’t react that fast and people may wise peak ( and crouch at worst ) so I basically never watch corners closely.
I have a massive problem if someone wide peeks me with a rifle,i play on mid-high tier lvl csgo(DMG currently) so i cannot take the risk of holding my crosshair far away from the corner for a widepeek else i might get prefired by a shoulder peek, but at the same time i cannot stick my crosshair to the corner, in case someone wide peeks. How do i deal with it?
Anshul Kandpal Dude I am DMG aswell and we all pretty much suck. Don't even hold angles too much, take the fight to your enemies. Learn some easy nades and get in their faces.
......So to put it simple, you wanna only engage one at a time, you want "aim DUELs" not "aim clusterfucks". So you shouldn't wide peek where more than one might see you.
hey launders, I do agree with the points you are making in this video, however, the title is kind of misleading. Wide peeking can be useful in many scenarios so it defenitely isn't bad generally, so you might change the title of this video to something more fitting :)
It's good information but the format just makes it seem like this is a stream highlight, not something actually scripted and edited like some of his other (arguably better) videos.
"Wide peeking in a 1v1 only gives your opponent more time to shoot while you are just moving across their screen. therefore it’s pretty much illogical to do it if you know how much you need to peek. I’m not sure people thought this through heh" Look under you before you type.
You guys are speaking the obvious lol. And even pros will tell you wide peeking is sometimes a bad habit. Comeon bruh. Yes it is situational but generally the least used peek in the game(as a pro)
For one, you are too close to that corner, they would see you before you saw them. And for two, wide peeking is not always bad... you have lost all credibility with me.
"When is wide peeking BAD?" might be a better title - plenty of situations (e.g. clutches) when you know there can't be multiple enemies.
Looks like you got your wish lul
He should of pinned this.
The thing about Stewies position is that if Karrigan jiggled it or slow peeked it Stewie would see his feet by the cart and just either spam him or preaim so the only option was to widepeek that.
"Why is wide peeking BAD?"
ITS SITUATIONAL
Don't shout
YOU'RE SITUATIONAL. AND YOUR MOM IS FAT AHHAHAHAHAHA
@@marc8828 lol middle jokes
Wide peeking is good depending on the situation.
And that situation is always!
wide peeking really depends on the situation , it can help you alot when you know there is only 1 guy holding the position you are coming from just wide peek him etc, its not the same always

just F1 racecar peek
there we have it bros
I prefer alt+F4 peeks.

WOW after 4 years of playing cs I never knew wide peeking is a bad thing! thanks launders!
It’s not always a bad thing but most of the times it is
Funny thing is I used to hold wide when I used play 1.6 back in the days but over the years in CS GO, I started holding very close angles and only realized that I am holding so close after watching stew's chair placement on tarik's stream

Short, clean and clear examples. Perfect video once again! :D
hey launders can you do an advanced movement guide? because all the movement tutorials on youtube only talk about the basics
try starfing
ok
Hey Launders, I really enjoy these high level tips, and your soothing voice. please continue to make this content!

Make sure to be unpredictable not undisciplined.
Low level players are the most unpredictable as for play style to be honest.
"how do you know what they're doing if *they* don't know what they're doing?"
if you peek so close to the corner, the enemy will see at least half of your player model before you can see them, even if it's a very tight peek. you might wanna pick further back from the corner so you can see their player model first.
Slice the pie 101
I knew this already but the video really reinforces the facts, makes you think about it more, launders is best
Wide peeking in a 1v1 only gives your opponent more time to shoot while you are just moving across their screen. therefore it’s pretty much illogical to do it if you know how much you need to peek. I’m not sure people thought this through heh

should you stare at your crosshair when aiming?
How do u make switching to knife on left hand
bind 3 "slot3; cl_righthand 0"
Conor Parsons thanks
hmm it switches all guns to left hand
@Kyser ruclips.net/video/Hv8mJQ9X-zo/видео.html
Kyser yeah, it flips your view model.
Thanks! Learning a lot along the way, took me 500 hours to get LE -
Are there any bot maps to practice crosshair placement? So basically bots (wide/tight) peeking around corners at different speeds.
Thank you Mr. Launders
Can you explain why standing in mollys is bad?
1:20 if the ct knows more than 2 have pushed out, why would they peek wide? The ct would shoulder for the guy door and play passive long for another a player to play goose or something
How do you cl_righthand 0 only with your knife but switch back to cl_righthand 1 when u pull out ur ak?
Wide peeking can give you an advantage when you know there is only 1 around the corner. Considering you dont whiff your shots/spray :)
wide peeking against decent players is typically an all-in, and it can work but it's just "high risk / random reward" since you can either just get killed without getting any info beyond "1 guy here" or you can die and see all 5 players which would, at least, be some decent informaysh. i think wide peeking as a default thing is bad but its pretty useful against people holding tight angles
if i know its only one dude i like to jiggle the corner so they move their crosshair closer to the corner and then wide peak so they basically have to flick
what headset are you using these days?
Does this apply to cod?
Underrated channel.
Low level players tend to have their crosshair as close to the wall as possible, and since they are probably not that good at flicking, i tend to just wide peek them all the time.
Your comment explained more than you intended.

Here's why using your parking brake is _bad_.
Xanteras enters the chat.
Is wide peeking good when you know there is only one guy left?
I have a massive problem if someone wide peeks me with a rifle,i play on mid-high tier lvl csgo(DMG currently) so i cannot take the risk of holding my crosshair far away from the corner for a widepeek else i might get prefired by a shoulder peek, but at the same time i cannot stick my crosshair to the corner, in case someone wide peeks. How do i deal with it?
Anshul Kandpal DMG high tier lul
Sam Anderson and btw, even if i am dmg, i play in LEM, LE lobby so i can perfectly say mid-high tier
Thats not high tier lol.
fine fine, mid tier. happy?? now can u give me a solution? or just came here to feed your ego?
Anshul Kandpal Dude I am DMG aswell and we all pretty much suck. Don't even hold angles too much, take the fight to your enemies. Learn some easy nades and get in their faces.

thank you mr launders
overpass is a rlly good map for wide peeking.
......So to put it simple, you wanna only engage one at a time, you want "aim DUELs" not "aim clusterfucks". So you shouldn't wide peek where more than one might see you.
Wide peeking is not bad you just need to know when to use it :)
I thought you were trolling for a sec. As some people say it depends on the situation.
Wide peeking is not bad it's just situational.
right, ?
do a vid on s1mple's crosshairplacement
DO MORE OF THIS
hey launders, I do agree with the points you are making in this video, however, the title is kind of misleading. Wide peeking can be useful in many scenarios so it defenitely isn't bad generally, so you might change the title of this video to something more fitting :)
just bhop
thank you
That was actually not a good video.
It's good information but the format just makes it seem like this is a stream highlight, not something actually scripted and edited like some of his other (arguably better) videos.
Widepeeking is hella good in 1v1's
"Wide peeking in a 1v1 only gives your opponent more time to shoot while you are just moving across their screen. therefore it’s pretty much illogical to do it if you know how much you need to peek. I’m not sure people thought this through heh" Look under you before you type.
maybe on lan but in online cs you can kill the guy before you even stop moving on their screen.
i like thIS cROssHAir
quick tip
short clip
3 min video ?
peek not peak
You guys are speaking the obvious lol. And even pros will tell you wide peeking is sometimes a bad habit. Comeon bruh. Yes it is situational but generally the least used peek in the game(as a pro)
its situational tf
tr1l ikr
I wide peek every single thing because it is most effective for my low patience and super sick skillz :P
LilDram otaku
I disagree. Its situational
0:39 white people ey?
FORCED CONTENT
I wide peek everything since my aim is good enough to just kill people, and they can't aim. Lululul
Hello
se veía interesante pero no entiende nada :v
Aprende inglés.
WTF is this WarOwl would know better dude...
For one, you are too close to that corner, they would see you before you saw them. And for two, wide peeking is not always bad... you have lost all credibility with me.
Quick tip from a dmg lol
