Two Women was a rip roaring read from start to finish. Only gripe I had was the book title was so misleading and deceitful as it was truly a one woman show(Susan Dalston) while the other woman in question(Matilda Enderby) was no less than a peripheral character, a sub-antagonist to complete the story. Whole shame of it all is Mattie would've made been an interesting character as she was fleshed out in a way that left more questions than answers.
Barry Dalston was a coward if you look at him closely. He knew his wife was sexually abused by her father yet he chose kiss up to her dad then take all his bitterness and rage out on his wife because she was an easy target. Just bullies emulating bullies.
