Regardless if you think the original song is creepy, we should all be able to agree that Forrest’s Santa singing this song should land him on a watchlist.

@@simonlegosson7082well in the original it’s more like they are both in love, she really want to be with him but she’s teasing him with the idea of leaving. If you’ve ever flirted you’d understand, but taken out of understanding context, it totally sounds creepy

@@frumpleskilstonanimations2409 If you’ve established a way of communicating with your date that is based on that kind of teasing and you’re both okay with it, then talking like that obviously isn’t a bad thing in and of itself. The song however, doesn’t provide any context for the relationship between the two characters so it’s left up to the audience to determine whether they believe that the song is about two lovers teasing each other on a cold winters eve or alternatively, about a creepy guy making unwanted sexual advances towards his date, using the cold weather as an excuse to force her to stay the night with him. What scenario people think of when they hear the song depends entirely on what personal references they relate the lyrics to.

The original song writer wrote and sang the song with his wife, and its original intentions were they wanted to convey to there guests that it was time to “leave the party” though the movies have kinda constrained the original meaning of it to a man and woman. But certain idioms like, “say what’s in this drink?” Actually had different meanings in the old days. It just meant “it’s time to go home” and everyone used to say it back then.

@@simonlegosson7082 Yes, this Christmas song is obviously about a predatory man making unwanted sexual advances toward a girl who so happens to be stuck within his home. That was obviously the intent of not only the two singers, but the original songwriter, too. You've cracked the code, you magnificent knight in shining armor!

The most quietly unsettling lyric has always been, “If you caught pneumonia and died…”
And Forrest-Santa makes it sound like a mafia threat

If anyone thinks the original is creepy, do some research about the creation of the song. It is actually a funny backstory about the song.
