You've always been the "go to" guy for recommendations and review of equipment. I think people will appreciate the information. I personally look forward to seeing the trailer upgrades.
I have done pretty well, I haven't needed to run my generator considering all the rain we have had the last few weeks. But my power consumption is pretty low compared to the average home. I am going to be upgrading the power in my little caravan, removing the old AGM and going over to Lithium batteries. Wanna get out and do some camping as well.
I found a battery that looks like a good bang for the buck. Still looking into them. www.sunyee.com.au/products/dc-mont-12v-120ah-slimline-lithium-battery-lifepo4-phosphate-deep-cycle-charger They have piqued my interest. SolarKing used to be that price before I started showing everybody just how damn good they worked. Now they are a bit overpriced. So I am looking for another good / well priced battery to do all that testing on.
@@JustinCaseSolarPower I notice they advertise the cycle life as up to 2000 cycles, Kings have a similar cycle life as well. When Lithium first came out the cycle life was advertised as up to 5,000 cycles. The high end batteries still say up to 5,000 cycles so I guess they are using A grade cells. The cheaper batteries at up to 2,000 cycles may have B grade cells ?? But even at 2,000 cycles, it way out preforms the old lead acid. The Kings 120 Ah Lithium is going for around $400 on their deals, so not bad value for money. I have been testing a few of the Kings 120 Ah Lithium batteries for over 5 months now and so far with daily heavy cycling they have preformed flawlessly. Not sure how long they will last, I guess time will tell.
@@TheSimpleLivingAussie Yes, I looked at kings. www.4wdsupacentre.com.au/100ah-ultra-slim-lithium-battery.html Cycles 2000 to 80%DOD The Kings seem to have a higher output BMS at 175A that is higher than the one I linked you. Cycles are the same. On both batteries, the only way to make sure is to buy and test. 🙃 I will be doing that when I get back from the trip and rebuild the electrics in the camper. The end result will be more interior space 🤔
@@GoingOffGrid101 Yes, but what you do is not camping. It's caravaning, we call it. Having 4x walls and a roof with AC and heating. A bit different to a rooftop tent and a trailer with a canvas awning. 🤔
@turbosigma It would need to be very good. Large capacity lithium battery banks are very expensive. In Western Australia, You need all the power you can store. The grid is a bit of a joke. Been in the news a lot lately. Hell, they should be paying people to be on it. It's that bad.
@@tirivaenim yes, but can it do it from the battery, he is asking. So can he export the battery power to the grid. We know they are a hybrid grid tie. I would think they can. But I have no need to use that side of the unit, so I have never looked into it
I know!! My comment was just to show that even in the worse conditions, your setup would consume a very little bit of fossil fuel!!! You have done amazing, My Friend! My complements to you and Ziggy, in what you both have done!!!!
Thanks, Norm. We Should be back to 0% fossil fuel when we get the New replacement solar panels back on the roof. Naturally, we will have to wait until winter next year to demonstrate that and see it all works as calculated.
Enjoy
Thanks for the update

No problem 👍

I appreciate that! The trailer upgrades will begin when we return from our trip. The job will include complete rewiring and battery upgrade.
Looking good Chris and for sure a man with morals good on yeh

Thanks Chris for the blunt opinion on the CTEK. Thanks for the update and I look forward to seeing the new panels installed. Jim in Chile.
I call a spade a spade, my friend. The electrician should be coming next Friday. With a lot of luck on the weather.

Hi Justin Case how can I get one of these inverters ? Can you supply any links please i'll surely appreciate it.. Thanks

NO, I have known idea. But Why in god's name would you ever want to export your expensive lithium batteries stored sunshine to the grid?
