The solution is actually to start boiling the water FIRST, and THEN put the eggs in. They don't develop any hotspots this way and peel a shitload easier. For extra points, use one of those clear kettles and some tongs.
Can I suggest a visit from your friendly marten? Hens might be busy with a visit and will delay lying eggs until you'd be done with cooking, and kick out your friendly neighborhood marten from chicken coop.
That’s an awesome setup! A cheap steamer plus 5 minutes makes breakfast so effortless. If you like experimenting, try steaming cracked eggs for poached-style eggs - the yolk comes out super creamy. Thanks a lot for sharing, and I’d love to know: what brand is your steamer? 😊
Hello my friend from Brazil! Thank you for watching and for letting us know where you're from. It's great to have Brazilian viewers in our cooking community!
Haha 😄 you’re right, it does look like a lot at first! I just wanted to share an alternative method for anyone who enjoys trying something different. Of course, the classic way works great too 😉 How do you usually cook your eggs?
This video is a total game-changer for boiling eggs at home! 🥚 I’m deeply impressed by the steaming technique instead of direct boiling to prevent cracking and preserve the natural flavor. The clever vinegar and salt trick to soften the shells makes peeling incredibly fast and smooth, achieving that perfect 5-star hotel look. The egg salad recipe served with toasted bread also looks delicious and highly nutritious for breakfast. Thank you for sharing such professional and meticulous tips. Wishing your channel continuous growth and massive success! 🌟💎🔥
At the beginning of the video, I set three eggs to boil on the stove. After some time, I successfully cooked and enjoyed all of the boiled eggs, savoring their nice texture and flavor. Once I finished eating, I made sure to wash my hands thoroughly to keep everything hygienic. I also took a refreshing sip of water to stay hydrated. Now, I’m patiently waiting to complete the video.
I know! Right?! OMG just use store-bought eggs that are already clean. Add vinegar and salt to water, start eggs in cold water up to a rolling simmer, cover and reduce heat to lowest, 15 minutes. Place in icy-cold water 5 minutes. Gently roll egg to shatter-crack the shell and it will slip right off - no picking.
In countries other than Japan, washing eggs at the beginning seems very tiring.😅 However, in Japan, there are no chefs who make easy-to-peel boiled eggs using steamers, vinegar, or salt. They would use a simpler alternative method. The key is to quickly cool it in ice water right after taking it out of the hot water. 👍
You make a great point 👍 In Japan, because eggs are already very clean and safe, chefs can rely on straightforward boiling and immediate ice-water cooling without extra steps. In other countries, people sometimes add more preparation out of caution or habit. The ice-water shock really is the universal key, regardless of the method used.
The icewater only stops eggs from further cooking. If your egg does not peel well, than because its too fresh and has been less than 3 weeks old..........

Fresh eggs are notoriously difficult to peel when boiled because the albumen (egg white) strongly bonds to the inner shell membrane. As eggs age, they release carbon dioxide, increasing pH and making the membrane less sticky, while the contents shrink, creating a larger air cell for easier peeling. For easier peeling, use older eggs. Put them in water and boil them!!
Totally fair - thanks for being honest. The core technique is actually quite simple: steaming the eggs instead of boiling them directly in water, followed by a cold-water bath. Steaming reduces cracking, helps the whites set more evenly, and often makes the shells easier to peel. Everything before that is optional preparation depending on where your eggs come from. If your eggs are already clean, you can skip straight to the steaming step.

Oh, that’s wonderful! The United States is truly an admirable place. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch the entire video, share your thoughts, and support me. Your kindness and encouragement mean a lot and motivate me to keep creating better videos.
I cook eggs just 4 minutes for runny yolk and 5 minutes for full hard yolk and put them only when the water is already boiling (water level is just enough to cover the whole egg so it will not too bumpy for the egg). After the egg boiled just soaked them in cold water for half minute before peeling. No need for long time boiling and long steps.
Thank you very much for your comment! 🙏 Greetings to your wonderful homeland, famous for its stunning waterfalls, wildlife, and warm-hearted communities. I’m glad you found the tips useful! Do you have any unique or traditional egg recipes from Zambia that you love? I’d be happy to try them! 🥚🌟

I’m thrilled that you enjoyed the tips! If you have any egg recipes you cook often or any special tricks for cooking eggs, please share them with me-I’d be delighted to try them in future videos!
This is such a great method! 😊 The Tatung rice cooker is truly simple, reliable, and convenient - no need to watch the heat or worry about failure, and the eggs turn out beautiful and delicious. Using a shallow plate with slightly damp paper, then letting it rest for a minute after the cooker switches off, is such an elegant little detail 👍 Cutting the egg in half and scooping it out with a spoon - no peeling needed at all - sounds so comforting. Thank you for sharing such a practical, home-style technique 🙏
Thanks for the tip! In here in the U.S. eggs sold in refrigerated cases are by law washed ! The process removes the natural protective film! In other countries practices vary! Food safety is always a must when preparing it! Godspeed!
Thank you for watching and supporting! 😄 Sending warm greetings to India 🇮🇳-a land admired for its centuries-old food traditions, colorful dishes, and passion for cooking. Try steaming eggs for 18 minutes lid on pan don’t touch. When 18 minutes up plunge into ice water bath for 5 minutes, even farm fresh eggs peel evenly.
Just use fork, stab egg , make hole on the BACK of egg where the air pocket is. Put to hot water. You should see air escaping. That is all. After boiling brake shell all around and pill it. Pills so easy that you can use ONE hand. 90% time
Nothing will ever change that, this is due to genetic engineering, eggs weren’t like this 40 years ago. They made the shells tougher to maximize sellable yield. There is also a sort of skin layer under the shell that they made thicker/tougher, that’s what the shells stick to making it even more difficult.
@The_10th_Man That air taped in, when get hot it try to expend and cosign pressure. That make stuck to skin. Just use fork, stab it , make hole on the BACK of egg where the air pocket is. Put to hot water. You should see air escaping. That is all. After boiling brake shell all around and pill it. Pills so easy that you can use ONE hand.
In Japan, washing eggs at home is not recommended. This is because eggs are already washed and sanitized before they are shipped to stores. Washing them again can remove the natural protective layer on the shell, called the cuticle, which actually makes it easier for bacteria to enter the egg. In Japan, eggs can be safely eaten raw without worrying about Salmonella or other bacterial contamination.
Exactly right 👍🥚. Japan has very strict egg safety and handling standards. Eggs are washed, sanitized, and carefully inspected before reaching stores, which is why washing them again at home isn’t recommended. The natural cuticle helps protect the egg, and removing it unnecessarily can actually increase risk 🛡️. This high level of control is also why dishes with raw eggs are common and enjoyed safely in Japan 🇯🇵🍚. Thanks for sharing this insight-please follow our channel for more food safety discussions 😊📺
Thank you so much for your kind words 🍽️❤️! We’re really happy to hear that the video helped you discover more delicious dishes for your family. That’s exactly what motivates us to keep sharing these ideas. Please follow our channel for more easy, tasty recipes everyone can enjoy 📺✨
The best way is to put salt and baking soda with water stir them before putting the egg to make sure eggs would not end up with cracks. In any case boiling the eggs the old way still works perfectly for me.
Thank you for sharing your method - very practical and to the point 😊 Adding salt + baking soda and stirring before placing the eggs is a smart way to reduce cracking and also makes peeling easier for many people. And you’re absolutely right - the old-fashioned way of boiling still works perfectly fine for a lot of households. Really appreciate you contributing your tip and perspective. Thanks for watching and commenting! 🥚
Nevím proč bych měla vařit tolik vajec současně, ke každému jídlu ,když jsou vajíčka potřeba, si uvařím zvlášť.😊 A to že jsi u nás vajíčka předem neumírají má určitý smysl. Nemají si umývat!
Just use fork, stab egg , make hole on the BACK of egg where the air pocket is. Put to hot water. You should see air escaping. That is all. After boiling brake shell all around and pill it. Pills so easy that you can use ONE hand.
I don't know where you buy your eggs from but my FRENZ free range eggs in New Zealand, which I buy 2x30 eggs trays at a time, are not covered in "crap" when they are collected and sold. They are never washed as this removes the natural protective layer eggs have on them.
Thanks for sharing your experience from New Zealand. You’re absolutely right - high-quality free-range eggs, especially from well-managed farms, are often very clean and don’t need washing at all. In those cases, keeping the natural protective layer makes perfect sense. Egg handling really depends on farming standards and local regulations, which can vary a lot from country to country. What works well in New Zealand may look very different elsewhere.

What if I boil only 2 eggs which is often the case
Fresh eggs are notoriously difficult to peel when boiled because the albumen (egg white) strongly bonds to the inner shell membrane.
As eggs age, they release carbon dioxide, increasing pH and making the membrane less sticky, while the contents shrink, creating a larger air cell for easier peeling.
For easier peeling, use older eggs. Put them in water and boil them!!
Buy a egg cooker. Egg cooker also steams eggs, what is more, it's usable for 1 or 2 eggs, and save water and energy.

LOL!

In the US all eggs are washed. Have to be. Not allowed to sell dirty.
Oh, that’s wonderful! The United States is truly an admirable place. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch the entire video, share your thoughts, and support me. Your kindness and encouragement mean a lot and motivate me to keep creating better videos.
😂 Are you sure... Salmonella pops up somewhere in the United States often, and some people actually die as a result of Salmonella!
@RodDavisSaints44that’s everywhere so stop pretending. Also not all are pre washed as you can get directly from a farm.
In US people do not know where eggs coming from..... LOL
Thanks for sharing your method! It sounds like a great way to get perfect eggs every time. 🥚✨

This is such a great method! 😊
The Tatung rice cooker is truly simple, reliable, and convenient - no need to watch the heat or worry about failure, and the eggs turn out beautiful and delicious.
Using a shallow plate with slightly damp paper, then letting it rest for a minute after the cooker switches off, is such an elegant little detail 👍
Cutting the egg in half and scooping it out with a spoon - no peeling needed at all - sounds so comforting. Thank you for sharing such a practical, home-style technique 🙏
That's very helpful, I'll try it.
next week a 20 minute video on how a chicken's arse works
Thanks for that Simon. Took me 20mins to stop laughing so I could type this reply😃
Thanks for the tip! In here in the U.S. eggs sold in refrigerated cases are by law washed ! The process removes the natural protective film! In other countries practices vary! Food safety is always a must when preparing it! Godspeed!
That's a great point about food safety practices around the world! 🥚✨

The eggs were still hard to peel
After watching this video, peeling eggs will be very easy.
@MIE-rs9zp

I tried to cook my eggs with this method, and it does make a huge difference. The extra steps are worth it.
So happy to hear you found it helpful and that the extra steps were worth it! 😊
You can save yourself all this torture just by adding a huge palmful of salt to the boiling water!
Also, never cook eggs directly taken out of the freezer, but take them out 10-15 minutes before cooking, and they will not crack.

The best way is to put salt and baking soda with water stir them before putting the egg to make sure eggs would not end up with cracks. In any case boiling the eggs the old way still works perfectly for me.
Thank you for sharing your method - very practical and to the point 😊
Adding salt + baking soda and stirring before placing the eggs is a smart way to reduce cracking and also makes peeling easier for many people. And you’re absolutely right - the old-fashioned way of boiling still works perfectly fine for a lot of households. Really appreciate you contributing your tip and perspective. Thanks for watching and commenting! 🥚
😃Eggsactly😃
And, in the US, eggs come pre-washed.
Life is short. My friend
