Yeah, too bad the rest of it sucked. Why couldn't they get rid of the ugly technorganic forms and focus on the importance of individuality and freedom rather than growing plants and gardens? Also, the main cast was way out of character. The only ones who felt like themselves were Optimus, Megatron, and maybe Cheetor.
Vehicons had horrible designs too, looking too machine-like with those gross mouths that would squish and change shape when they spoke... and don’t even get me started on the exposed heads in vehicle mode.
@@Autisticguywithacamera wait, what do you mean? did they, like, take away Rattrap's snark or something? I already heard they turned Silverbolt into an edgelord, but if they changed Rattrap and Blackarachnia too far, then I won't watch it. I was considering of watching it up to Jetstorm's last episode, because I heard that was what made the show good, and because I consider the Vehicons as actually looking like what they're supposed to be: TRANSFORMERS! I look at the technorganics, and their robot modes hardly look like cybertronians, and last time I checked, they're supposed to be robots, not whatever these are. their beast modes DO look cool, tho.
@@jogill2568 Well, Blackarachnia wasn't as tough or take-charge as she was in Beast Wars, I preferred her sarcastic side and Beast Machines didn't have any of that. She also came off as kind of submissive where Silverbolt was concerned and that just seemed out of character for her. With Rattrap they took this snarky war veteran who doesn't care about little things and just complains for fun, has a tough and comical attitude despite his experiences, and remains loyal like when he refused to join the predacons and said "Better dead than pred!" Into a cowardly technophile who just invented stuff, when originally he had no interest in inventing, and even made a deal with Megatron for weapons. Did these guys even watch the show?Silverbolt was a brooding edgelord rather than a fun guy who talked like a knight, and they even took away Waspinator's happy ending. In the Japanese version (Beast Wars Returns), this song was played during the opening and ending, during which Optimus and his friends were able to freely converse.
This show was basically the Tron Legacy/Uprising of Transformers and that's what made it memorable. Both tackled serious philosophical concepts, such as what one thinks of perfection in their world, the issues of what it meant to live in a society conquered by a genocidal warlord, the dichotomy between the desires of the individual and the needs of the whole, and the inevitability of conflict and inequality in a free society. It's amazing how the writers fit all of this in a Fox Kids show when Fox Kids themselves said "no guns allowed" for them.
The original Tron also tackles these themes. In regards to the concept of living in a society conquered by a genocidal warlord, it also explored the dangers of corporations running the lives of beings and using technology for their own self interest. It explored the concept of the dichotomy between the desires of the individual and the needs of the whole by presenting the users as gods.
