They used to sell MRE's Here from the Base of Course. 😀 This is Where I Use to buy my Collections of U.S. Military Surpluses especially the Jet Fighters and Helicopter Combat Pilots Helmet. Survival tools and Packs. Everything's Here During That Time. And Most I like Here is the PX Stalls And the Clean Restaurants. I Miss he Yummy Foods Around here. It's All Gone Now.
Try visiting Marina Arcade in Dau. There are shops that sell surplus USGI uniforms and boots. This is the one near the bus terminal and most of the products they sell there are knockoffs or locally made.
...........wow.........didn't know there are still a lot of military surplus shops open in Dau.....i thought there's no more years ago.........thank you for the tour Brian.........my brother likes it......... :)
That was cool but damn most of the military gear is so heavy and thick you would die of heat exhaustion wearing it there, but its a very cool little mall for sure thanks for the look.
I plan to go in this U.S military surplus store in Dau, Angeles City to buy that vaunted ranger back pack I salivated. I plan to go to Quiapo where in the 1970s I went with my soldier father who bought his U.S made military uniform and boots but I remembered that when I worked at the PMA in the late 1980s and before I went to Mindanao I passed by in the surplus army stores in Dau, Angeles City. Panahon pa ng mga Amerikano sa base nila noon sa Clark. I bought camouflage and fatigue military pants there and sold to friends in Mindanao who loved these stuffs. When I searched if these stores are still there, viola, andoon pa rin ! Watch the video:
LOL, I saw that military surplus place as I was leaving the bus station on a Partas bus four years ago.. Dammit, I didn't know it was there until it was too late. Had to a catch on PAL back to L.A.X .. I was supposed to go this past month but had to bail out due to surgery.. dammit... okay next year!! Good video Phil......!
Brian, my friend just to let you know, Dau is no longer part of the city of Angeles. You are now in MABALACAT CITY. The area cover of Mabalacat City is where the big arc starts before centennial park if you are going to Angeles. So Dau is Mabalacat, Pampanga :-)
Now I get it Brian you must be a flyers fan I am in Toronto so go leafs go the broad street bullies now that was hockey keep up the good work my wife and I are going back to the Philippines in December of 2018 I want to go to Angeles city but she says it's a bad place know for bad things but by looking at your videos I can see it has some nice areas
Hi po mga sir maam. Tanong lang po, ok lang po ba yung camo design xa pero polo shirt naman sya may kwelyo yung damit pang formal. Ok lng po ba suotin yung ganun? Salamat po sa mga sasagot. God Bless
I remember seeing all that gear, just curious if its china or Korean knock offs ? Your doing a great job and in a few months hope to run into u for a beer.... Thanks, and ALoha
The military either stores or gives away obsolete equipment and weapons. Those that are stored are reserved for future use so that they can be put back in service if the time comes. Others are sold to civilians and collectors for a lower price.
That would be a dangerous place for me to go. Army surplus and stereo stuff would be a big temptation to spend money! Another landmark is the red and yellow hotel SoGo. I'm sure all the trike drivers know where it is since it's a chain of "classy" short time hotels.
(wow wow wow ) i'd have a hay- day shopping there wow ....lol... lol... thanks for the video . .. from Alaska i bet there putty cheap to buy there then Alaska.... lol .
I went to one of the police and military stores. They sold me police hats and badges and uniforms. Since I was an American they knew I wouldn’t impersonate one.
My name is Brian but people do call me Philly. I'm from the Philadelphia area and we call Philadelphia Philly for short. That's why the name of the channel is PhillyinthePhilippines.
That place was wall to wall STACKED with every conceivable item meant for the military and/or logistical support equipment when the US military still inhabited the place. If it was found here, there was a 99.9% chance it was pilfered from Clark AFB not just after but DURING the eruption of Pinatubo. It is as if that whole base simply stood up and walked down the road to Dau during and immediately after the catastrophe! They didn't even have the decency to wait until the base was officially handed over or closed down before it got stripped bare! There isn't as much, in fact, there is almost nothing there any longer of any value to have come off the base. Occasionally you can find a relic or two but all the good pickings were gone LONG ago!
I'm sure you know by now why roosters are everywhere in the PH. Have you been to a cockfight arena? I guess you can say that these arenas are a poor man's casino. Happy Holidays to you and yours, and have more fun in the PH---from your silent subscriber.
Doug we have our fair share of street trash. Now if you go into Clark that is a different story. Everything is kept clean, you would think you were back in the states.
The Philippines and Vietnam etc are so annoying for trying to get video footage! There the only one's I've ever come across so aggressive and the dirty looks they give you, or they will just stop talking all of a sudden and turn round and just stare you out! Noticed that here in your video too Haha! Vietnam was the worst for it! We went in this like wearhouse with no roof just off the road they had loads military stuff they were pushing the camera down saying no filming etc they had all these part's that would just have collector's and restorers going crazy for! Loads of crated brand new Willie's jeep engines guns ammo etc they probably didn't want any of it filmed because it was more than likely stolen goods from when the Hueys dropped supplies back then!
