Just got back from Badlands NP, 7/2022. Got my pass at the gate and was no problem, saved $30! But, several days later we visited Mt Rushmore and had to pay. NPS allowed to private company to take over concessions and that now includes the fee to park. Only $10, but still a sneaky way to get around free access.

Great Smokey Mountains just added a parking fee now too. No passes accepted.

New sub. Dig the content. This is actually not new. Lifetime passes were available 2 years ago when I got mine in Thurmont Md.(Camp David) took literally 10 mins and the ranger was overly friendly and helpful. I have a 2013 Rock Warrior Crewmax in Black. 50k original miles. I’m a Navy Vet. FMF Corpsman.

I was just on the site for the passes and for whatever reason, the DD 214 won't work. The DMV in my state accepts the DD 214 so it is on my DL and the parks will accept that.

I'm confused because I have one cousin active duty my father was a veteran of a Vietnam war my mother's father was in the Korean war I had an uncle who was in The merchant Marines and lost his life my brother was national Guard and my uncle was in the Marines does that include me in this national Park for veterans and gold star families I mean what is the gold star mean and I don't I didn't understand that in the video but I'm even looking to go to school to either join law enforcement to help women with domestic violence that I've been going through since 1992 when I moved to Florida and I just seen all the veterans on this suggested list for me to watch and I hope you all get this message thank you for your service and I am so proud to be part of the Red White and Blue I mean both sides of my family red white and blue in America runs our veins so if you could just let me know I would appreciate it I understand how busy you are and thank you for the help I have a couple of praxia and I've been trying to get a hold of my father's VA records from my brother and without saying anything else there's a reason I'm supposed to go to VA hospital and the local gentleman that used to go around and help you know that homeless veterans as well as you know just any veteran you know receive their benefits and everything like that he was going to take me and I hadn't seen them for a while and then I found out that he passed away and my uncle that was in the rain can't take me because he's gone into dementia and he doesn't really remember who he is let alone be able to help anyways I appreciate it and I appreciate all of you law enforcement included from the sheriff's police department the first responders doctors and nurses that really care for their patients to the state troopers who guard our highways I am definitely from a true blue veterans family but I'm the daughter of a Vietnam war vet
Qualifies me as a gold family and thank you for this video it was very informing

Gold star family includes the spouse, the parent, the siblings the child of the veteran who died in a war i.e like the IRaq war
A veteran is someone who served or currently serving the military.

I've been trying to get veteran status in california but covid has really made that difficult but I just got my VIC, this should suffice right?

I think VIC cards are sufficient to use at National Parks
