  • It's time to get the fertiliser and this video was taken before the weather improved so it was another game of Tetris trying to get everyone to fit.
    We almost made a costly mistake with the fertiliser but we managed to sort it out.

    A big part of the enjoyment of following you is the chat along the way. There will always be the odd person who is not so keen on that, there are plenty of others who they can choose to follow if they do not have an appreciation of how you present your vids. Please keep on being yourself Karen and doing things in the way you do. I would be more than surprised if most other followers don't agree. You brighten my day :)

    Farming activities are in the main universal... It is the scale, timing, success/ difficulties that are the variables which are unique to each farm and farmer. The way these factors are internalised is the journey shared through video.
    Videos mainly provide a snapshot of .... a moment in time....
    highlighting if a task is enjoyable or tolerable, showing the levels of committment, resilience determination and occasionally the struggles and frustration when things dont go to plan, the drive to be more efficient and profitable whilst displaying kindness and empathy . This energy is best communicated through talking...
    In short, keep making the videos in the format that you like and highlights your interests most.
    Best wishes.

    Every day is a learning day on a farm. A few years ago we bought a quad fertiliser spreader that holds 500kgs. It has no bother holding 500kgs of Cut Sward or Pasture Sward. A fortnight ago we spread about 2 tons of Protected Urea which came in 375kg bags. To our surprise the 375kgs of protected urea took up nearly as much space as 500kgs of other fertiliser types. It just goes to show how easily you can get caught out. Its the same when spreading fertiliser. The actual granule size has to be taken into consideration as you could be putting on too much or not enough. Anyway keep up the good work Karen.

    • @karenmoynihanfarm
      @karenmoynihanfarm  3 месяца назад

      Yes I always find that with the different fertiliser. I think I've figured out exactly the right rate for spreading it and then I use something like CAN or 18-6-12 and it's totally different again 🙄😂

    Your doing a awesome job, just keep doing what your doing. If you would like a little tip get some 8" x 2" batons and by setting them on edge, make a frame a round the top of your little manure spreader, screw a leg in each corner so it can't slip of the top. Them fit a 2 foot wide strip of polythene round the inside of it so nothing can escape out of the rounded corners and that should hopefully hold your whole bag them.

    Hi Karen another great video, just keep doing what your doing, if you need to use part big bags of fertiliser Agri Linc in Lincolnshire do a spike that you drop the big bags onto then you have a slide so you can dispense any amount of fertiliser you require, they are hard plastic so will last for years, we use them where I help out as we sometimes need to use small amounts of all sorts of fertiliser, they are a great job, hope that helps.

    Karen ,you can buy a spike for the big bags of fertilizer which opens and closes so can control the flow into your spreader. You lift up the bag put the spike on the ground in the closed position ,lower the bag down on the spike once in the bag you can lift it up over the spreader and let out as much as want ,close it and lower the bag until the next time you want to fill the spreader

  • @TomClifford-pe8lo
