Yes, you must have a valid, non expired state/federal id to visit anyone in prison. And yes, it is checked and that is what they use to logged you in and is your signature next to their log. I'm a former corrections officer
Yes all visitors have to provide a picture state identification card. However, there is a process one must go through to be approved for visitation.
Some people mistakenly think if they don't show up it goes away which is very untrue

A default judgement can be overturned. It’s not written in stone as public perceives. I’m sure Diddy, attorney’s know what course of action to take next. I believe they have 30 days to file motion before judgment is finalized.

I was assigned to Prison Ministries for a hot second decades ago. I absolutely had to show my ID. It was such a traumatic experience that I never returned. Sorry to the inmates who just wanted to feel lifted in a dark place. 🤣🤷🏽♀️🛑

Here in Michigan to visit anyone in prison you have to file an application with proof of ID BEFOREHAND weeks in advance and wait for a reply for your first visit. Then you have to show drivers license/State 🆔 upon arrival, sign in, then you get searched and patted down. 🆔 checked again, then you can see prisoner. You are drained and feel sick afterwards when the visit is over. Michigan prisons don’t play. No shortening of time for good behavior either.
Supposedly Diddy and someone from his team (it may have been a lawyer, I can't remember lol) showed up to see the guy in prison and they were trying to convince him to settle because Diddy said he was having financial issues with other things going on his life. Normally I would not believe it but I don't trust Diddy. There's a video of the guy talking about it to a judge about it.

When you go visit any inmate!! You will need to add them on to visit, they will do a background check check to see if you have warrants and if you go you need to provide your id so they can run your name again

It’s a default judgment. Diddy didn’t even show up to court. So the judge automatically ruled in his favor. All Diddy has to do is appeal, and it will be dismissed. I think Diddy needs to be held accountable for anything he did wrong just like everybody else, but this lawsuit was just a scam.
