Mr Charles Ojugbana was a legendary NTA sports commentator in those days. I dare not miss him on Saturday sports commentaries. I wish this video is sent to NFF and sports minister so that they can catch some essential words on which way to go. Nigeria will continue to go round the circle if the authorities fail to do the needful
Tobi Amusan is a household name today because she borrowed $50k to develop herself and become world champion. Assuming she didn't develop, who would have known her today? All our government and sports authorities are proud and associating without contributing financially to her development and trainings
Half a word is enough for who wants to be wise. Please bring back our sports infrastructure and national sports competitions and make Nigeria relevant and a force in the world of sports

Great analysis, guys. Congratulations to the elephants of Ivory Coast. They were better than Nigeria in all ramifications. The stats showed it. Nigeria had about 5 shots on goal as against 8 of the Ivoriens. Nigeria had one shot on target while the Ivoriens had 8 on target. The Ivoriens had 63% possession of the ball while Nigeria had 37%. Pass accuracy for Nigeria was 74%, while our opponent had 86%. The Ivoriens had 409 passes, and the Eagles had 248 passes. The Eagles failed to fly when it mattered most. The elephants looked hungrier and determined. They got what they wanted. They hosted to win it, and the result proved it. Our boys were lackadaisical on their approach from the beginning of the match to finish.

It's not just that. It is curious how the Ivorian team re - invented itself after defeats from Nigeria and a four zero trouncing by Equatorial Guinea.
The Ivorian football house immediately did not let the situation dampen their enthusiasm. They took a risk by dismissing the coach and appointing a new one. Using the same players, the new coach Emerse Fae turned Ivory Coast from losing to winning ways.
He rallied the players together, and having narrowly qualified as one of the best losers, upped their game and the result is for all to see. No wonder why CAF called him "coach of the tournament."
Are there lessons to learn by Nigeria who led one zero in the first half, only to concede two goals in the second half?
How could it be that a team that came third in its group, losing two matches and winning only one, a team that escaped elimination ended up as AFCON 2023 champions?

I love this man. His analysis shows he knows football. It is not enough to just sit before TV and be showing up eagles. Remove the keeper, Ekong, Osimen and lookman, the rest are just extremely average. Anyone with a brain can see clearly from the group stage that the team no get mid feeders. You have sharp strikers, but no one to supply them. How can a coach not see that? Even Finidi was just a waste to that coaching crew.

  • @leslieo1574
    @leslieo1574 5 месяцев назад +5

Well mine taking on this about the result is that, when God says it's your time, nothing can stop you. The ivorians were almost written out, both on the group stage and even the knock-out stage when they played against Senegal, but they still make it through to the final and play with the best acclaimed team of the tournament and they come out with great vigor. That is when you know God is with you. All this analysis does make any difference as long as you don't have God's backing. With God all things are possible. GOD is still angry with Nigeria government and religious leaders for failure to care for his people.

Since the beginning of this year Afcon I have not really been enthusiastic about our super eagle and somebody said but they have been winning and I said yes but all their games your heart is always in your mouth and the final match was the worst. They were just watching the Ivorien mesmerizing them just as in those days in our college when team A is practicing with team B. I can feel that we have been turned to team B of Cotedvoire. Another thing I observed was that the Ivorien was really playing like hungry Lions and seems hyper motivated while the super eagle was totally flat footed according to veteran Charles Ojugbana. While wining the 🏆 is the ultimate I will prefer loosing at group stage of an inspiring team rather than reaching final only to be reduced to training team.

Instead, we started running all over the world looking for the foreign based players..After they are found, they GLUED them together in a rush and expect them to perform MIRACLES….
I hope the people in charge of football in Nigeria learn from this TERRIBLE MISTAKE AND EXPERIENCE.

He who advises the Super Eagles to play a Defensive Game in a Final is an Idiot to the CORE in capital Letters.....
How can you play a defensive Game in Final and expect Victory...? They stupidly gave Ivorians 95mn free Dominance...The Result is what they Got at the End. Previously against South Africa and Cameroon they were very Combative which amounted them scoring 2Gaols ahead of their Opponent and the Pattern was what led them to the Final Stage. Why changing this Pattern ??? Nigerian Old and Obsolete pattern that has never yielded a positive Result in History. Who is responsible for that pattern they exhibited on Sunday I ask again...???

Mr Ojugbana just proved to us all that he was probably watching the Super Eagles play for the first time in that finals. He was part of the problem in the old brigade during the era of Clemence Westahoff and one who said we don't need a foreign coach just mentioned Westahoff.
We should stop crying blue murder when we lose...if we had won like 1980, 1994, 2013 (Keshi) we would not be talking about how bad our football organisation which Mr Ojugbana was part of is bad. I remember he was sacked by the Federal Ministry of Sports as the former Head of the International Department of the NFF under government's umbrella... Hypocrisy well displayed

The Super Eagles did not disappoint us. We shopped for and bought disappointment for ourselves by pinning so much hope on a low scoring team. A team that will win a competition must engineer awe in its prospective opponents by previous performances and high scoring ability. That will get the opponents nervous and fidgeting, and fifty percent defeated even before the matches. Super Eagles do not have that awe raising atmosphere around them. We always depend on goodluck to do the job for us as if we have monopoly of it.
People should be going for health checkups before watching Super Eagle matches to ensure that the states of their health can contain dashed hopes and expectations.

The route cause of the problem not one day mentioned in every of our analysis. And that is where we always missed the points. And we will continue loose the winning everytime. Let us look at it from this points of view. Is those people in position of President, Ministers, Economics, Development, Administration etc. doing well? The answer is capital no. Nobody can fight The Almighty God. Faraoh try it and failed, even, not only failed, was perished. Let me tell you. If you people, called Nigeria refuse to do the Will of God,you can never get it right, smooth or comfortable. The fact is that, except the country return into how it was created before Lord Lugard came and did his worst. If you still refused to do that, i am hundred percent sure that we will continue debate, discuss, blaming and reacting on error till the end of the generation. I don't know how do you want to be greater or a winner when you are at fault. Please forget it Sir. Victory can never emerge in whatever Nigeria doing as a nation. Instead confusion everywhere.

Osimhen the forward was not there even with the SA and Ivorian game you cannot rely solely on 1 player. A coach can even change his captain is he is not playing well. There was no mid field it was flat even when we played SA and the final. That AFCON cup needs to be changed is too childish for the big game is like a toy.

@@relaxationandmeditationnoi1297 sure. He should be hired by the ministry of sport and follow our teams around so we could win without putting in serious preparation before the games

The man has raised points that are NOT valid. Westerhoff used local players mainly because he had little to no foreign players back in the day. He also profited from negotiating deals for these players to move abroad. The times are different now, while I advocate for the best Nigerian players home or abroad to play for the Super Eagles, the reality still remains that our best players are abroad. This is for various reasons, quality of league, investment in the league, promotion of the league, playing surfaces, and so on. If NFF cannot do this, how can they in return urge a foreign coach to do the same? It is NOT Victor Peseiro, it is the lack of management ability of our institutions.

I can’t stand that arrogant thing call Rufai, look the guest had to say hello to him first , he just sat there with his lizard mouth waiting on the guest to say good morning first.

Why is it so difficult for everyone to understand that Iwobi is not a central midfielder. He can fill in as a more attacking midfielder but he is basically a winger thats the role he plays in club football. Peseiro neglected to call up CMs. He had just 5 midfielders and 3 were defensive mids. The only other CM was Aribo and we saw how he performed against Guinea Bissau.
Please lets get the facts right. I'm not a coach but it was obvious that if you cut off our wingers from play then you've neutralized the whole of Nigerias offense thats why we only had 5 shots in final and only one on target.
That is the fault of the coach from the get go.
Moving forward we have to get a coach that has attacking instincts and will make the best of our enormous attacking threat. Good-bye Peseiro.
