Your back room: Now that your are living there, does it naturally remain cooler than the rest of your house? It might make a lovely " cold room." Ours is original to our house, its off the kitchen, looks like a butler's pantry....but in fall especially winter in New England, I can even store produce, in the drawers and lidded baskets! Baked goods, it has definitely extended the shelf life of anything I put there. But it LOOKS like a butlers pantry! No electricity, keeps shopping down in cool season. Highly recommend!
This sounds AMAZING! Unfortunately it's the same temp as everything else and is def warm in there! There is another little room alongside it that is a utility room, I plan to at least use that for dry bulk storage!

Just thought I’d mention in case you’re unaware like I was until recently, but gas stoves really affect the air quality of the house and can be quite harmful to your health (especially young children). So if you really don’t ever want to put in a rangehood, it might be worth adding some sort of ventilation nearby and also make sure you have a carbon monoxide detector in your home!

My kitchen currently looks like a construction zone, so this is giving me hope!! LOL We've replaced our fridge, dishwasher, floor, and counters; added a light above the sink; and painted. Now we are doing some insulation, outlets, and backsplash!!! It's turned into way more than we meant, but I'm thrilled to be almost done after 3 years of projects.
Way to go!!! It always gets so much worse before it gets better. And living in the in between is really hard! Will be so worth it tho!!

So excited for you guys 😊 I have been enjoying going back to your nutrition videos! Could you do a video on soaking grains & beans? I have been seeing that some people even soak their walnuts, almonds, things like that, is that necessary?
Love it and it’s so cozy! I feel like you could even do a retro SMEG fridge which is smaller than a normal one in the current fridge corner for like the necessities (kids snacks, beverages, etc.) and your big fridge in the back room (ingredients for meals etc.). I would be nervous for kids going in the back room but maybe once it’s finished it will be more kid friendly 😂
