you may not know how your channel is changing lives behind the scenes, it's not just look good feel good, its a whole confidence boost for me valuing myself highly even in the way I carry myself knowing I am looking super good, thank you! from a 5"4
I'm 163 cm, and a curvy hour glass.... so I was always very confused about what works for me and what doesnt. Also I never could pairing shoes with garment well done. This channel is one of my biggest milestone in my style since 2 years. Thanks a lot!🎉❤ I dont have to waste my money for clothes what look awful on me anymore...
My rules: #1. I match my shoe color to my pants. At the very least, blend them. #2. Also, my pant length covers my shoes almost entirely, so my shoes aren't terribly visible. For example, I have snake print booties, but I wear them with long gray pants. They blend. #3. For skirts, I wear shoes that match or blend closely with my skintone or tights color.
I do this, too, it really helps me look at bit taller (I’m 5’4” or 164 cm tall). In winter I wear tights and boots that match my skirt or dress, or as closely as possible. (I wear these much more than trousers).🙂
I'll be looking at flats differently now. Thanks for these tips! My tip for trench/long coat -- keep coat unbuttoned and wear a scoop/V/low neck (weather permitting). This way, the eyes see your face and neckline. Also, roll or fold coat sleeves up so that 1/3 of arms are showing.
I’m 5’2 and I subscribed to your channel years ago. Your tips are always very helpful and I rarely see people on RUclips talking about the do’s and don’ts for petites.
I also have skinny heels and wider toe area. I could never found pump work for me as it is always too tight in the toe box and too loose in the heel. I always have to wear shoes with strap on the ankle. I am glad I am not the only one!
Same here. I an petite with a widish forefoot but narrow heel. I walk out of loafers and pumps unless there is an ankle strap or a secure-fitting slingback. For example, I have a hard time keeping the (in)famous Everlane Day Heels on my feet because of the elastic heel; the narrow toe box squeezes my feet. Pointy toe heels look sharp but are tight at my forefoot and loose at my heel.
Me too. My feet are at the line between regular width and wide width shoes, plus my big toes turn up a bit, so pointed shoes put a lot of pressure across the top and sides of my big toes, plus my heels pop out of all shoes except tennis shoes. And I have arthritis in my big toes, so low vamp shoes run right along the most painful spot. I'm so glad low heel and flats are in style this spring. I'm hoping to find something that avoids all my issues. And I can look out together and walk pain free.
I am so glad that I happened upon your site! Thank you for explaining petite dressing and offering examples for better petite styling choices. Some things I have done seemed to work better than others, but I was uncertain why...now I know! 😊
I have the double whammy in that I'm petite (5'1) with what I think are big feet (and they're flat too, so lucky me! haha) for my height - I wear an 8 and find shoe buying so tricky. I did buy a pair of lug soles this year, but at least they are neutral toned. They're pretty comfy too. Thank you so much for your always helpful videos for us shorter people! :) xoMaria
Thanks for another helpful video! I am 5’3” and began standing in front of the mirror and trying on different types of shoes with each outfit. I could never really identify what was wrong just that optically some look better than others. I’m beginning to understand finally!
I just wanted to say, I love the new line of clothing on your store. So classy and sophisticated! Love the dresses especially. It would be great to see more cropped jackets that are more firm fitting and less baggy
I have foot problems and am petite. I don’t care what people think of my shoes. I wear what’s comfortable to manage chronic osteoarthritis pain. No more heels for me!
I love chunky loafers and things with a lug sole because they are very stable and my balance is pretty bad since I developed my chronic illness (which also causes dizziness meaning that heels are out of the question at this point too). I just find that I adjust my fashion in ways that compensate for that, i.e. make it to where my shoes match my pants in a way that it makes it one long line, or like when I chuckled when she said "no animal print shoes/boots" I compensate for my beige pointy toe zebra print boots by wearing my mid-low rise flared jeans over them and cinching the waist of my outfit by tucking my shirt and using a hefty large textured leather belt and some jewelry. I'm here for this Y2K reboot that we're currently having.
I’m seriously in love with your channel! 💞 I’m 26 years old and never really got into fashion because it was extremely difficult to style as a petite (which I recently realized because I thought this referred to your weight and not your height). Now that I’m trying to elevate my style, finding your channel and learning the basics have been so helpful! I cannot thank you enough for all the content you’ve provided over the years. Now I’m binge watching and I’ve learned so much. Thank you!! 🥹🙏🏼
Just caught this video now and really glad I did. I’m wearing a pair of gorgeous pointy toe cream colored flats around the house to break them in. I’ve had them a few years but just didn’t wear them as relocated to the tropics where I live in slides and sandals. Headed in October to a wedding in Europe and these flats are perfect for my outfit. So thank you for giving me the style encouragement to persevere through the break in period- I know they will be great as they are a lovely soft leather.💕
Fantastic advice...you are so clever and i have been following your advice and what a difference, I am nearly 60 ,5'2" and size 8 and I love your channel.. thank you ❤
I look really goofy in loafers. Flats usually hurt my feet and rub blisters, especially on my heels...even ballet flats. I have a shorter upper body (mostly through my bust to waist and waist to my leg and hip joint sections), so I feel like I can pull off chunkier styles, especially Dr Martens for fun. And, yes, an almond shaped toe always works best for me.
This was so very helpful! I love your videos! I have been so dissatisfied with my closet lately and I think I know why now. I’m going home to pull out every piece and examine it to see if it’s truly flattering my body type.
Always helpful, and yes I bought into the chunkier heels, but I am 5'4 so I think I can get away with it....just barely! I don't tend to wear flats, obviously for the reasons you stated. I do the tone on tone between pants and shoes. I have difficulty finding skin tone shoes in my area...
Me encantan tus videos ¡¡ muchas gracias ¡¡ no se hablar inglés...pero estos videos me inspiran mucho a aprender ... soy bajita y me sirven mucho tus consejos ¡¡ para vestir mejor ¡¡
I’m in my 50’s & I’ve never ever been able to wear flats. I must have a wedge or heel. Thank God for hidden wedge sneakers & boots. They’re stylish & I don’t feel frumpy.
I love your advice for petite dressing however I don't actually agree with the illustration at 3.24 . I think the image on the right with jeans touching shoes actually elongated the leg more as in the actual " leg " looks longer because the denim material goes on for longer if that makes sense. I think cuffing can actually visually shorten the leg in 2 ways because not only have you cut off your leg length of fabric but you create a 2nd horizontal with the actual cuffed inside out part of the fabric. It's just my opinion
I am so thankful that I have found this video! Please make a video of winter, I live in Poland and it is really long winter, I feel I need instructions 😂
I'm short + wide calves 💀 cuff jeans is a noooo go on me. Straight Jean looks like skinny on me, so I go with that and get it to pass my ankle to elongate....try to at least. 😅
I am 66 and till today i still ware heels 5cm approx. Although the suggestions are good they always show the front side...but no matter what you do, from the back legs look short without heels!
I agree low vamp shoes look better, but they don't stay well on the feet, easier to slip off if there is no strap on the ankle. Loafer look awkward on me. I am trying to find almond toe Mary janes with low heels made with leather, no luck so far. Anyone knows where to find them?
Hi Chi , I’m so thankful for all your tips , Thx so much . Pls could you advise us on nail polish colour ideas for a quiet luxury wardrobe or neutral wardrobe .
Thank you, youre teaching me a lot. When i gained weight due to aging, I bought boxy dresses (without waistline). Is it possible to wear boxy dress with a small belt? Will it be good or weird? Pls I need insight fr you. Tx in advance
Short women do not necessarily have short legs. Yes, their legs are shorter in comparison to tall women, BUT their legs are : 1. TALL 2. OK 3. SHORT in proportion to their all over height. By SHORT LEGS phrase, which one are you referring to : - In comparison to taller women Or - In comparison to their own body height ?
Unfortunately for us petites, low-vamp shoes are dominating shoe styles right now, especially in ballet flats. I can’t imagine why designers thought this was a good idea, they make us petites look even shorter and taller woman look like their feet are enormous. I’ve passed over so many otherwise-perfect pairs because of this unflattering design. I can’t wear very-pointed toes, and flats don’t give me any extra height, of course, so I choose flats and other low-heeled footwear very carefully - low vamps and almond or elongated square toes are best. I still wear my mid-heels, 2-2.75 inches high, whenever I can get away with it. For summer, at least I can always rely on my mid-heeled Pikolinos sandals, they’re so comfy they don’t even need any breaking in. The same for my low-to-mid heeled Stuart Weitzman boots for colder weather. Thanks, Chi, you’re the best❤
You keep advising wearing nude, beige or brown shoes. I loathe the whole beige/brown palette, from cream to dark chocolate brown, and avoid it like the plague. What other shoe colours would you recommend please?
Well said👍 You are inspiring me✨ Would it be possible to put the English sub titles because English is not my native language? I guess that I m not the only one. It will help a lot. Thank you very much for your consideration if possible. Regards from Europe😉👗👠
So basically those working in a lab or lab-adjacent are out of luck. You have to wear closed-toed, high vamp shoes for protection. And yet the air has to be kept pretty cold so exposed ankles get very cold. And I prefer to have long tops that cover my bum in case of period accidents. So the only usable tips that might work is flesh/tan/brown almond/pointed shoes.
Again, it is SO hard to find cropped tops and jackets in Women’s Petite: 1XP, 2 XP, 3 XP. Manufacturers pay attention. Also I also prefer low vamp: so why do so many manufacturers make high vamp shoes ?I hate them.
A belted fit and flare dress with cropped jacket or shrug and skin-tone shoes draws the eye away from your lower half. Find the length that is most flattering to visually divide you in thirds (1/3 above your belt, 2/3 below). Try high-waisted, loose slacks (dark), tucked shirt and a belt, and jacket length that hits right above the widest point of your hips. Also wear shoulder pads...it will visually offset your wider hips and give the illusion of an hourglass shape.
I went to check out the cropped beige ‘trench like’ jacket and your sizing is WAY TOO SMALL. Your size Large only has a chest size up to 39”? Very disappointing. I was really hoping your petite line might be the answer…I was surprised and disappointed that you of all people are not offering sizes for ‘average’ ( North American) size women. I am petite as in short…that doesn’t mean ‘small’. I cannot find any cropped items because when I get them in a size that actually fits my chest or waist/ tummy area then everything else is wayyyy too long and no longer cropped. Please extend your sizing. In most brands I have encountered, a 39” bust is definitely not considered a size 14. ( or even a size 12 often). I know there is no standard sizing but seriously? Just something to consider as you continue your brand. I would also prefer higher quality, more natural fabrics rather than mostly polyester. I can get that at Old Navy and don’t have to pay over $100. Just some hopefully ‘constructive’ feedback. Not trying to be mean or critical..just a bit frustrated.

As someone who wears flats 99% of the time, thank you so so much!!! This video is a GODSEND.
Thank you so much!! I am a five footer and I wish I had known about you sooner, I have learned so much in this single video 🤗
I have skinny heels so I walk right out of loafers, heels are out. A shoe with a strap always works but they are often either juvenile or nerdy.
I also have skinny heels and wider toe area. I could never found pump work for me as it is always too tight in the toe box and too loose in the heel. I always have to wear shoes with strap on the ankle. I am glad I am not the only one!

Same, I'm 5'4" and have to buy 8/8.5 Wide or basically a 10 in normal width shoes which are a literal drag.

Same height and shoe size as you, and I own 2 pair of those chunky loafers. They look great with wide leg trousers (in my opinion) 😊
I just wanted to say, I love the new line of clothing on your store. So classy and sophisticated! Love the dresses especially. It would be great to see more cropped jackets that are more firm fitting and less baggy
LOVE this channel!! I’m revamping my closet using these videos as a base for my closet rules 🫶🏽
me too, Lets do it!!
I love chunky loafers and I don’t care if I look short- I’m a proud petite!
Same here! I just love chunky shoes(like mary janes) in general! I'll *find a way* to make them work!
I have foot problems and am petite. I don’t care what people think of my shoes. I wear what’s comfortable to manage chronic osteoarthritis pain. No more heels for me!

Pointy toe d'orsay shoes are my favorite flats, I highly recommend.

This was so very helpful! I love your videos! I have been so dissatisfied with my closet lately and I think I know why now. I’m going home to pull out every piece and examine it to see if it’s truly flattering my body type.
I find that when I am wearing pointy toe shoes I trip up more easily especially when going up and down stairs
That excess point can be tricky.
What’s in style now is square toe shoes . I have bad feet and 5 ft 2 . Agree with you neutral shoe good
Love how informative your videos are. Keep them coming!
Thank you

Perfect timing for this video! Shopping for cute but comfortable walking shoes for this week's trip to Chicago. ❤

Thank hou Chi, I learn so much from your videos. 🙏
Yes, I got lug Mary Janes thinking the heavy platform would make me look taller because of the added height. They did not 😅
I’m going shoe shopping now! 🛍️💖🤩
Thank you so much for your videos! Could you do the same for flat winter shoes?
I am with you in this question. I hate ice and cold, and often wearing long(almost maxi) puffy coats, flat chunky shoes in winter.
This is noted. Thank you for suggesting! 💖
Thank you, youre teaching me a lot. When i gained weight due to aging, I bought boxy dresses (without waistline).
Is it possible to wear boxy dress with a small belt? Will it be good or weird? Pls I need insight fr you. Tx in advance
I love chunky loafers, I’m short too, a nude chunky loafer does the trick !
Short women do not necessarily have short legs.
Yes, their legs are shorter in comparison to tall women, BUT
their legs are :
1. TALL
2. OK
3. SHORT
in proportion to their all over height.
By SHORT LEGS phrase, which one are you referring to :
- In comparison to taller women
Or
- In comparison to their own body height ?
What low socks are you wearing with your shoes, the no-show socks? I bought so many that don’t work.

Hi! What jeans are you wearing at 4:49? I love them
very timely video for me ty!
Anybody have this problem with heels and ballet flats? It fits the toes but it’s too big around the heel. And no heel grips help me.
Well said👍 You are inspiring me✨ Would it be possible to put the English sub titles because English is not my native language? I guess that I m not the only one. It will help a lot. Thank you very much for your consideration if possible. Regards from Europe😉👗👠

Hi I'm from Glasgow love your video I'm just 4ft 9 .
Thank you so much! 💖
Thank you so much!

Could the chunky shoes be off-set by matching the leg? Sometimes I want to dress like I'd crush the world under my soles 😂
So basically those working in a lab or lab-adjacent are out of luck. You have to wear closed-toed, high vamp shoes for protection. And yet the air has to be kept pretty cold so exposed ankles get very cold. And I prefer to have long tops that cover my bum in case of period accidents.

Can you incorporate her shoe suggestions for when you aren’t at work?
In winter, if we want to wear flats or sneakers or Chelsea boot, and can’t roll up tha pants. What can we do in that case?
Match the boot color to your pants for an uninterrupted look.
Lightweight Skin tone socks or nylon socks

1:00 Where did you get this long white coat from please?
Hi! You can check the link of the outfits shown on the video on the bio! 💖
Now I know!!!!
Can a plus size, short gal where a cropped jacket? Very heavy lower body.
Nice.
I don't like the chunky loafers..and i was right,we agree Chi..
Nope. Not showing my ankle. Too cold. I always wear socks. Comfort before looks. 😊
PLS,Tell me,what’s your height ?
Hi! I'm a 5'2" 💖
2:54 that looks kill me 😂😂😂
Higher-vamp shoes are trendy, but they’re so unflattering I won’t wear them.
saw the title, thought you were talking about chicken wing flats.
